I'm trying to export a signed android app, but I encountered this lint error:
And when I go into the xml to look at it, this happens:
Is there a way to solve this so that I can continue to sign the app? I don't need them translated since it'll all be in English anyway.
The problem was with Android Lint. For solving this go to Preferences -> Android -> Lint error Checking.
There you can see a list of error checking methods.
Scroll to Correctness:Messages.
Change the severity of Missing Translation to be something other
than error, say warning
Window--> Preferences --> Android -->Lint Error Checking --> Uncheck the second check box that says -Run full error check.
Hope this helps...
Since you don't want to translate on all languages and errors similar to that try the following step
Project -> Properties, find Android Lint Preferences, in top to right click Configure Workspace Settings... -> Uncheck Run full error check when exporting app.

This problem happened like "out of the blue". When I tried to run the application at some point it came up with
configuration is still incorrect. do you want to edit it again
This message kept popping up, which I thought was a bit weird. So I endend up restarting Android Studio, but when it had loaded up again, all of the structure with folders etc. in the left side of the screen, were gone. Only a message saying "Nothing to show" is there now.
Also all of the files that were open before I restarted is still open, but has little "red J's" in the tap where the file name is.
The last edit to my project was that I changed the minimumSdkVersion of the gradle file, from 21 to 10.
Obviously changing this back, had no effect.
EDIT:
When I try to deploy the project anyways it gives me this error in the console:
Error running main: Module is not found
So I have really no idea on how to fix this or what is wrong, even though I have tried to research it.
I really hope someone can help me out or have an idea on what may be wrong.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you build and deploy Android app from IDE/Studio to watch directly , you most likely will see Build Configuration screen and if you will clik "Run" you will get
"Build Configuration is still incorrect, do you want to edit it again?"
To solve it just check "Do not launch Activity" in Activity section of a "Run/Debug Configurations" of project.
or try these
check for the tags they may be not closed.
check for the package name in manifest file
check for the edit configuration , Then, check the bottom section "Before launch: Gradle-aware Make"
click on that small triangle to hide it. An error message should appear. This message may show you the error cause.
or Go to File->Project Structure-> Project Settings -> Modules, Click on the green colored and add new module. select Application module and set the content root to your project module.
or try to update the gradle as when studio starts it looks for gradle and sometime if not found it download it, may be your gradle have crashed so update it or manually place it.
In any activity of my project, if i do some changes and then save that activity i got the message "Running android lint has encountered a problem."
This is the my error log :

I don't to know how to solve this.
The following steps helped me to solve the same issue.
On My Project -> Context Menu -> Android Tools -> Fix Project Properties
Changing to latest version in AndroidManifest.xml
android:targetSdkVersion="21"
Maybe just one of them is enough :).
In Window > Preferences > Android > Lint Error Checking; Uncheck "When saving files check for errors".
I hope it will helps you
However, the root cause here is some sort of invalid project definition -- one or more of the class path entries are pointing to a resource which can't be opened; for example, you might have a classpath reference which is relative to a class path variable, and the class path variable is no longer pointing to an absolute location.
The above CL will simply make sure that lint doesn't throw an exception in this scenario, but it won't be able to do actually include the given reference.
You'll want to look at the project properties dialog and make sure all the build paths and resources are correct -- and that's the workaround until this issue is integrated
What worked for me was to open the "appcompat_v7" project on my Package explorer. I had closed it before and forgot to open so I got the same problem as OP. Now it's all fixed
Here is another solution, just tested it.
Go to Project properties -> Java and set compiler change Compiler compliance level: to 1.7.
If this is not working then try Project properties -> Android switch from what ever it is using to android 4.4.2.
In my particular case, the problem was caused by conflicting key bindings.
Check .metadata/.log in your project folder for hints.
Why this Error?
It seems that its something related to appcompat_v7 library that we have in our package Explorer. If you are working with API (targetSdkVersion) level 21 you would not face this issue.
For Mac OS X Operating System :
Go to Menu : Eclipse -> Preferences -> Android -> Lint Error Checking and Un-Check : "When saving files, check for errors"
For Windows Operating System :
Go to Menu : Window -> Preferences -> Android -> Lint Error Checking and Un-Check : "When saving files, check for errors"

when i'm trying to run an android project which shows the warning message :
Your project contains error(s), please fix them before running your application.
but there's no error showing in the code or other section on the project except the project name. like :
I've cleaned, refreshed the project but it remains same.
how can i identify and remove the error ?
thanks in advance
All errors and warnings with detailed description could be found on "Problems" view - usually a tab in the bottom right part of the eclipse window. If it isn't there, use Window -> Show View -> Problems to show it.
Let your tooling generate a new certificate by deleting your current certificate, see:
"Debug certificate expired" error in Eclipse Android plugins
Has the project worked before, but suddenly stopped?
Have you changed anything in the res folder? I've found that if you mess up one of your resource files (drawable, layout etc) it can have this effect. Double check to make sure none of your resources have spaces or capital letters in the name. If you have recently added a new drawable, try removing it temporarily to see if that fixes your problem.
Right click your project, click Properties and choose Java Build Path. Check the tabs there and see if you see any errors.
Sometimes resources there go missing due to folders being removed / moved causing the problems you're experiencing.
I am trying to run my application but it is displaying error in the project explorer
I had try to clean my application many time even restart the eclipse but no effect
It is displaying error and also it is not giving me any error in the console.
How to fix this issue?
EDIT
And also I remove all the reference lib and add again but still getting error.
Please follow the steps on this link. That user has the same problem. I have given answer there.
EDIT
solve this issue by following below steps
Go to Window => Show View => Problems
Now I can see the error like debug certificate expired
Now Delete the file ~/home/.android/debug.keystore
Clean Project
For more information refer this link
Check the problems and fix that. To view the problems == Window -> Show View -> Problems
i think the problem in the added library function, check the library files what you had added to this app. it shows error there remove it once and add again..
or
rightclick-->Android Tools --> Fix Project Properties..
All of my Android projects have error sign now, but there is no error in the project. I didn't edit anything but there is an error sign by each project now. The sign appeared first by 3-4 projects only, I didn't edit absolutely any of my projects and the sign appears now by all my projects. What can this be and how could I resolve this - I don't want to rebuild my projects from the beginning, of course :)
I already tried project->clean but I have again the error sign.
If you go to Window -> Show View -> Problems you can see exactly why the errors are there and take action accordingly. Usually, if there is no obvious error, cleaning your project can resolve the issue. However, there is clearly something else going on for you!
Try this
1) Right click on the project (in Project Explorer)
2) You should see Android tools towards the end. Click on it to get a list of options
3) Choose "Fix project properties"
