I have to develop five to six horizontal scrolling view,in this scrolling image add dynamic using adapter.
Feature:
1) Image can be drag and drop one scroll view to another
2) image can be move one horizontal scrolling to another view
3) image can be selected/unselected
4) with with all version
i am using this library, but sometime scrolling is not that much smooth(chopping)
Check this links may be it's useful to you.
1) Insert a view dynamically in a HorizontalScrollView in Android
2) http://android-er.blogspot.in/2012/07/implement-gallery-like.html
3) Horizontal ListView like Google Catalogs
Using this code you can add android control programatically to linear layout and just add Horizontal Scrollview to Linear Layout through xml
You will get horizontally listview.
//My coding here.
String[] name={"PRASHANT","PRASHANT","PRASHANT","PRASHANT","PRASHANT","PRASHANT","PRASHANT"} ;
myLInearLayoutmain =(LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.linearLayoutmain);
for(int i =0;i<6;i++)
{
LinearLayout li=new LinearLayout(getApplicationContext());
LinearLayout.LayoutParams params = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
li.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams params1 = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams paramsnew = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(LinearLayout.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, LinearLayout.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT);
params1.setMargins(30, 20, 30, 0);
//add textView
valueTV = new TextView(this);
valueTV.setText(""+name[i]);
valueTV.setId(5);
valueTV.setLayoutParams(paramsnew);
valueTV.setGravity(Gravity.CENTER);
// adding Button to linear
valueB = new Button(this);
valueB.setText(""+name[i]);
valueB.setId(i);
valueB.setLayoutParams(params);
valueB.setOnClickListener(this);
valueB.setGravity(Gravity.CENTER);
// adding Imageto linear
img = new ImageView(this);
img.setImageResource(R.drawable.ic_launcher);
img.setLayoutParams(paramsnew);
//add the textView and the Button to LinearLayout
li.addView(valueTV);
li.addView(valueB);
li.addView(img);
li.setLayoutParams(params1);
myLInearLayoutmain.addView(li);
}

I'm creating the above popup, the content of which consists of rows of horizontal LinearLayout views within a main vertical LinearLayout. Each horizontal LinearLayout contains one ImageView and one TextView.
I'm creating this within a PopupWindow, and doing so programmatically so that I can change the ImageView source as required.
As you can see the first icon seems to take up a lot of space, despite having the same code generating it as the other icons.
Below is the code:
LinearLayout verticalLayout = new LinearLayout(context);
verticalLayout.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams mainLayoutParams =
new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(ViewGroup.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, ViewGroup.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT);
verticalLayout.setLayoutParams(mainLayoutParams);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams layoutParams =
new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(ViewGroup.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams iconParams =
new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, ViewGroup.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams textParams =
new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
//History row
LinearLayout historyLayout = new LinearLayout(context);
historyLayout.setLayoutParams(layoutParams);
historyLayout.setOrientation(LinearLayout.HORIZONTAL);
ImageView historyIcon = new ImageView(context);
historyIcon.setImageResource(R.drawable.small_book_grey);
historyIcon.setAdjustViewBounds(true);
historyIcon.setLayoutParams(iconParams);
historyLayout.addView(historyIcon);
TextView historyText = new TextView(context);
historyText.setLayoutParams(textParams);
historyText.setText("History");
historyLayout.addView(historyText);
verticalLayout.addView(historyLayout);
//Exam row...
//... (duplicate of history row)
I've tried playing around with the layout parameters, even creating a mock xml layout that displays the content as I'd like, to match the parameters to.
If anyone can give some advice on making that book icon the same size as the others, I'd be grateful.
Add a scaleType to ImageView of fitCenter
Write this code under historyIcon.setAdjustViewBounds(true);
historyIcon.setWidth()`
And put width according to your layout.
Although I didn't figure out why the first image was scaling differently to the other images, I did find another solution: Using compound left drawables.
historyText.getViewTreeObserver()
.addOnGlobalLayoutListener(new ViewTreeObserver.OnGlobalLayoutListener() {
#Override
public void onGlobalLayout() {
Drawable img = m_context.getResources().getDrawable(
R.drawable.small_book_grey);
img.setBounds(0, 0, img.getIntrinsicWidth() * historyText.getMeasuredHeight() / img.getIntrinsicHeight(), historyText.getMeasuredHeight());
historyText.setCompoundDrawables(img, null, null, null);
historyText.getViewTreeObserver().removeOnGlobalLayoutListener(this);
}
});
Manually setting the bounds to match the TextView worked. Seems clunky, but it was the only way I could get it to do what I was aiming for.
When the user inputs a word, he creates a number of Buttons equal to the length of the word. For example: if user inputs "aaaa" he will create 4 Buttons, side by side, in the first row. Then if the user enters "bb" he will create 2 Buttons, side by side, in the second row. And "ccc" he creates 3 Buttons...
Image to demonstrate:
I dynamically create a RelativeLayout, then dynamically add Buttons to that layout. And finally I add the RelativeLayout to my existing LinearLayout. But the problem is, only one Button is added per row. And my program currently looks like this:
Can someone please me fix this problem?
CODE:
final LinearLayout linearLayout = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.ll_bttn_words);
final LinearLayout.LayoutParams llp = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(
LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,
LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
button_test.setOnClickListener(
new View.OnClickListener()
{
public void onClick(View view)
{
RelativeLayout relativeLayout = new RelativeLayout(view.getContext());
RelativeLayout.LayoutParams rlp = new RelativeLayout.LayoutParams(
RelativeLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,
RelativeLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
int size = enter_txt.getText().toString().length(); //the user input number of buttons
int id = 1;
for (int i=0; i<size; i++)
{
Button myButton = new Button(view.getContext());
myButton.setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.button);
myButton.setId(id);
rlp.addRule(RelativeLayout.RIGHT_OF, myButton.getId());
relativeLayout.addView(myButton, rlp);
id++;
}
linearLayout.addView(relativeLayout, llp);
rlp.addRule(RelativeLayout.RIGHT_OF, myButton.getId());
This line says that myButton should be added to right of myButton, which doesn't make any sense.
simple way to resolve this is to use the following line instead
rlp.addRule(RelativeLayout.RIGHT_OF, myButton.getId()-1);
But this isn't the best way to do this, you should use LinearLayout with horizontal orientation instead.
The structure should be simple
Just need to add your buttons in 3 different linear layout with orientation horizontal.
Like
<Relative layout>{
<LinearLayout global container with vertical orientation >{
<LinearLayout for 'a' type buttons container with horizontal orientation>
<LinearLayout for 'b' type buttons container with horizontal orientation>
<LinearLayout for 'c' type buttons container with horizontal orientation>
}
}
You guys are right. It is much easier using a LinearLayout. For those interested
final LinearLayout linearLayout = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.ll_bttn_words);
final LinearLayout.LayoutParams llp = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(
LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,
LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
button_test.setOnClickListener(
new View.OnClickListener()
{
public void onClick(View view)
{
LinearLayout linearLayout2 = new LinearLayout(view.getContext());
linearLayout2.setOrientation(LinearLayout.HORIZONTAL);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams rlp = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(
LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,
LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
int size = enter_txt.getText().toString().length();
for (int i=0; i<size; i++)
{
Button myButton = new Button(view.getContext());
myButton.setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.button);
linearLayout2.addView(myButton, rlp);
}
linearLayout.addView(linearLayout2, llp);
Hi I was want to add 2 different text views to my linear layout but somehow when i try to add both of them only the first one appears why is this the case? Here is my code :
LinearLayout.LayoutParams layoutParams = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(
LinearLayout.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT,
LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
// create the text view for the main string to
// be displayed
TextView displayMainText = new TextView(this);
displayMainText.setTextSize(15);
displayMainText.setText(mainString);
displayMainText.setLayoutParams(layoutParams);
displayMainText.setPadding(0, 20, 0, 0);
// Create the text view for the optional string to
// be displayed
TextView displayOppText = new TextView(this);
displayOppText.setTextSize(15);
displayOppText.setText(optionalString);
displayOppText.setLayoutParams(layoutParams);
displayOppText.setPadding(0, 20, 0, 0);
// add text views to the layout
LinearLayout studyTLayout = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.study_time_layout);
studyTLayout.addView(displayMainText);
studyTLayout.addView(displayOppText);
setContentView(studyTLayout);
With my code it only adds the first text view correctly
It seems like you didn't set the orientation of the LinearLayout to Vertical.
studyTLayout.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL);
I have to add a custom layout in a relative layout on a button click.
Again on another click add that same layout with another values above the previous inflated layout.
and it will continue like this.
I don't want to use list view.
I can add dynamically my custom layout but how to place it above the previous added.
on click of ADD button a new row will be added to my relative layout in xml, like ROW 1, ROW 2, and this will continue with ROW 3, ROW 4 etc.
you can use the addRule method of RelativeLayout.LayoutParams class. For example:
RelativeLayout.Layoutparams params = (RelativeLayout.LayoutParams)button.getLayoutParams();
params.addRule(RelativeLayout.ALIGN_PARENT_RIGHT);
params.addRule(RelativeLayout.LEFT_OF, R.id.id_to_be_left_of);
button.setLayoutParams(params);
Doing this, you can set programmatically all params you would set in your layout xml file.
on button click event add this code:
LinearLayout linearLayout=(LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.layout);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams params = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
LinearLayout layout=new LinearLayout(getApplicationContext());
LinearLayout.LayoutParams params1 = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
layout.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL);
layout.setLayoutParams(params);
Button button1=new Button(getApplicationContext());
button1.setLayoutParams(params1);
button1.setText("button");
layout.addView(button1);
linearLayout.addView(layout);
Define the layout having id #+id/layout and orientation Vertical in XML file.You will find the button layout being added on every click event.
I have one table "TABLE_SUBJECT" which contain a number of subjects. I need to create
one horizontal scroll view with Subject.
How do I create a ScrollView with database items programmatically? If I enter 1o subject then it will be appear in scroll view as a button. Is it possible?
you may create it as below:
ScrollView scroll = new ScrollView(context);
scroll.setBackgroundColor(android.R.color.transparent);
scroll.setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams(LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT,
LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT));
scroll.addView(yourTableView);
if you have many elements first you need to wrap-up and add in the Scroll view; for example i need a many text view inside of scrollview, so you need to create ScrollView->LinearLayout->Many textview
ScrollView scrollView = new ScrollView(context);
scrollView.setLayoutParams(new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(ViewGroup.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, ViewGroup.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT));
TextView textView = new TextView(context);
textView.setText("my text");
LinearLayout linearLayout = new LinearLayout(context);
linearLayout.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL);
linearLayout.setGravity(Gravity.RIGHT);
linearLayout.addView(textView);
scrollView.addView(linearLayout);
this may help you.
HorizontalScrollView hsrll = (HorizontalScrollView)findViewById(R.id.hrsll);
b = new Button(this);
for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
b.setWidth(LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
b.setHeight(LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
b.setText("b"+i);
b.setId(100+i);
hsrll.addView(b);
}
instead of for loop just modify the code as your need(no of records in db). but this the code for creating buttons in dynamically.
I was doing it like this:
Create xml with LinearLayout inside the ScrollView
Create xml as item in ScrollView
In activity set main content as xml with ScrollView
Loop through all table elements with adding new View to LinearLayout form main view
For me works fine.
In Kotlin you can use the below code
val scroll = ScrollView(context)
scroll.setBackgroundColor(R.color.transparent)
scroll.layoutParams = LayoutParams(
LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT,
LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT
)
scroll.addView(yourTableView)
