Sharing a file with file path in Android / Getting a working uri from file path

I'm trying to share a file with other apps (e.g. Telegram, Whatapp, etc) using:
Intent sendIntent = new Intent();
sendIntent.setAction(Intent.ACTION_SEND);
sendIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, uri);
sendIntent.setType("text/plain");
startActivity(sendIntent);
It works if the uri is from an ACTION_GET_CONTENT activity. But I have only a path to the file I want to share and if I set:
uri = Uri.fromFile(new File(path))
everything seems OK but the file is not sent in the last step.
How can I get a working uri from a file path?

Share pdf file via whatsapp from my app on Android

I am try to send pdf file from my app to whatsapp, and here is the code,
but something missing!!
it opens whatsapp and i can choose a contact but it says "sharing failed"!
the code

I figured out the problem, and here is the answer if somebody had the same issue. The problem was that I am trying to open the pdf from the asset folder which did n't work, and if would try to open the pdf from the download folder for example, it would work. Please refer to the the code below for the final correct way:

It's technically wrong, what if someone has WhatsApp business or want to share file on gmail then use this...

In this u just have to add text and file
Text u attach will become subject in gmail and if you are sharing image on WhatsApp then text will become as image caption

how to send image via email in android?

I am developing an application in which i have to send an image via email, I tried with
Intent emailIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_SEND);
emailIntent.putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_EMAIL, "xyz#gmal.com");
emailIntent.putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_TEXT, "message");
emailIntent.setType("image/png");
ArrayList<Uri> uris = new ArrayList<Uri>();
uris.add(Uri.parse("android.resource://" + getPackageName() + "/" + R.drawable.a));
emailIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, uris);
startActivity(emailIntent);
but its giving me as gmail has stopped unfortunately.How can I send an image via email,

Get the image storage path by using the file,
File img = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory()+"/Android/data/"+getApplicationContext().getPackageName()+"/", imagename+".png");
Convert that file path in to Uri
Uri imageuri = Uri.fromFile(img);
Send the image via email using
Intent send_img = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_SEND);
send_img.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_EMAIL, "xyz#gmal.com");
send_img.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_SUBJECT, "email_subject");
send_img.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, imageuri);
send_img.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_TEXT, "message");
send_img.setType("text/plain");
send_img.setType("image/png");
startActivity(Intent.createChooser(send_img, "Send Email..."));

Android ACTION_SEND_MULTIPLE with video and text

I'm trying to use the ACTION_SEND_MULTIPLE intent to share at the same time a video file and a text.
Now, this works in GMAIL (video in the attachments and text in the body of the mail), however I want to do the same in Whatsapp too, but it doesn't appear in the list of apps of the intent.
My code is the next:

Now your code gonna work due the new updates to whatsapp, before this didn't accept this kind of intent (ACTION_SEND_MULTIPLE) because it accepts only one file at a time.

This probably means Whatsapp does not support this kind of intent (ACTION_SEND_MULTIPLE).

image attachment to a mail.. how in android?

i can pick a image and its path using intent. with the use of that path of an image. i have to set that image as attachment of the mail's body content. how its possible in android???
