I am in trouble while downloading sdk s in eclipse . I am using mac . When I try installing or updating sdks , I got an error such that /Users/psyfk/android-sdks/extras/android/support to /Users/psyfk/android-sdks/temp/ExtraPackage.old01. Even though I gave permission to android-sdks file , I got this error . How can I fix that ?
Quick Thought:
Is your request going through Proxy Server? I faced similar problem in windows 7. I tried at home (outside proxy network) and it work like a charm. If you are under proxy then try checking in home network which doesn't go through
You can also setup the proxy in the adp and see whether it works.

I used to run android studio through a proxy, it was called "wall" so I had it configured that way.
I upgraded to Android Studio 3.2 and additionally had to stop using it so I am connected to the internet through a proxy free connection.
I went to my settings->Appearance&Behaviour->System Settings->HTTP Proxy and set the option to No proxy
I search throughout my project for a reference to wall and I couldn't find anything
However when I try to build, gradle tries to download a file ( 'https://jcenter.bintray.com/org/jetbrains/kotlin/kotlin-gradle-plugin/1.2.61/kotlin-gradle-plugin-1.2.61.pom' ) which I can download normally through my browser and I get the Unknown host 'wall'. You may need to adjust the proxy settings in Gradle.
I tried with a brand new project and get the same.
I tried deleting the C:\Users\(username)\.AndroidStudio3.2 folder and again the same message.
Can someone please provide me with a solution?
After some hours of searching it seems that the problem was that gradle seems to keep a backup of gradle.options (or I may have done it through an option in android studio) in C:\Users\(username)\.gradle\ so even though I removed all references to my proxy, it still kept those and ignored the gradle.properties file in my project.
When I removed the entries to my proxy, it worked fine
So I am relatively new to Android dev. and have been getting Android Studio set up on my computers. I have it set up just fine on my Mac. When I downloaded and installed it on my Windows 8.1 desktop the gradle build seems to fail every time. With an error message stating that the Protocol Family Unavailable. I've tried several things including uninstalling and reinstalling Android Studio.
NOTE: I did try what was said to work here Gradle project refresh failed - Protocol family unavailable yet it did not solve the problem for me.
When I used Stunnel I faced this problem and my problem was solved when I disconnented it.
Check too see if you have any Stunnel, Vpn or Proxy connection and if so, disconnect it.
I also had this problem and the referenced thread also didn't work for me.
What did work was setting _JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable to make Java use IPv4.
_JAVA_OPTIONS = -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
Note that Android Studio sets this variable in the vmoptions file. But for some reason, it isn't used by the Java VM started by Android Studio to run Gradle daemon.
After I did that, everything started to work ok and Gradle could build my project.
I hope it helps.
I run into this problem when my firewall blocked studio64.exe from connecting to the internet. I fixed it by granting access.
You could try to fix it temporarily by disabling your anti-virus software while using Android Studio. I'm not entirely sure it will work, but it's worth a try, it worked for me, though I'm aware-, and agree with that this is far from a permanent fix, but it might be good enough while waiting for a fix from the Android Studio team, at least it will let you keep working!
Hope this helps!
"Run command prompt as administrator - type cmd in the 'search programs and files' text box in the Windows Start menu; right-click and select 'Run as administrator'.
At the command prompt, type
netsh winsock reset
Restart your PC
This worked for me."
I found it in
Android studio "Cannot start internal HTTP server"
My problem was using a VPN on an per-app basis connection mode while Android Studio was blocked.
I solved same problem by disabling antivirus.
for me proxifire.exe was running in background and cause to connection problem, after closing problem gone
This answer is same as first answer in this topic, means first answer is true and works well, but my answer is in detail, i did not set that variable, just turn off proxy.
This error arises due to proxifier running that basically tunnels the computer in ipv6 which is not supported by daemon.
So to overcome this and build project either close the proxifier application from system tray or add the environment variable
_JAVA_OPTIONS= -http://Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
I'am trying to install Android studio, but bad luck..:-(.
Windows 7
Latest Andriod studio
Latest Java
Installed the latest Java and also added it to the system settings according to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTrUX1kUpDo
Also downloaded Gradle and updated the system settings
Stopped all firewall actions
So far so good, Android studio is also starting without any problems. But then I get two messages:
Internal HTTP server disabled: Cannot start internal HTTP server. Git integration, JavaScript debugger and LiveEdit may operate with errors. Please check your firewall settings and restart Android Studio
Gradle 'Nieuwproject' project refresh failed: Connection refused: connect
So after a few days of trying I was hoping that somebody could help me out..:-)
Here's what worked for me - I got the same error:
Internal HTTP server disabled: Cannot start internal HTTP server. Git integration, JavaScript debugger and LiveEdit may operate with errors. Please check your firewall settings and restart Android Studio
Run command prompt as administrator - type cmd in the 'search programs and files' text box in the Windows Start menu; right-click and select 'Run as administrator'.
At the command prompt, type
netsh winsock reset
Restart your PC
This worked for me.
Just to mention: I also added Android Studio and Gradle folders to my virus protection exceptions in case it was being blocked, but that didn't resolve the problem; the problem was only resolved once I followed the steps above.
Turn OFF firewall then turn ON again.
Sometimes firewall blocks it automatically when you start your PC. It also blocks to internet browsing for other reason but restarting firewall may solve this problem.
I encountered this problem after uninstalling Avast from my Computer, few days later i installed Avast again and the problem went away,Dont know what the connection is but thats what solved my problem
if Shell&ServicesEngine is installed on your computer, uninstall it and restart the Android Studio.
When trying to install the ADT plugin following Android Developper Site' instructions on a freshly installed Eclipse, I obtained the following error message:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=epp.package.java, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
HTTP Server 'Bad Gateway' : http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/plugins/com.android.ide.eclipse.ddms_16.0.1.v201112150204-238534.jar
HttpClient connection error response code 502.
Is there a workaround allowing me to install the plugin?
I had this same issue on my local pc, no issues with firewall at all, I actually turned it completely off for this.
Nothing seemed to work, until I read on another help forum that it was actually built for Helios version of eclipse, so I gave that a try and it worked first go!
I don't understand how it can make a difference as its a server return code and nothing to do with the client setup, but as worked for me when everything else failed.
I used win32 version http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/helios/sr2, I recommend giving it a try if you are out of options.
The speed was another thing altogether though, it was still terribly slow.
Good luck!
it like you request http://dl-ssl.google.com has some problem, please check the internet and try again, if it also dont work, try using https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ this new update address to get ADT.
I had this same problem and attempting to update/reinstall wasn't working.
What ended up fixing it was, I went into my eclipse directory and deleted the adt folders and jar files under /plugins/ then reopened eclipse and reinstalled all the ADT plugins.
Everything is working fine now :)
I solved the problem very easily.
Go to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Windows Firewall -> Turn off Windows Firewall
And try to install again and see the magic :)
I'm a n00b developer at my second attempt to use the Android SDK. I'm
developing on the Mac platform and I've noticed that the latest
version of the SDK doesn't include anything except the tools (so I
have no plugins, no targets to choose from inside the package I
downloaded).
So I tried to use the Android SDK and AVD Manager to download and
install some, however, I got this error:
Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/
I went to the settings and checked the box to force fetching via HTTP,
but no result. I was suggested to look for a configuration file, but
couldn't find any.
Any suggestions? I'm dying to get my hands dirty with the SDK.
Whenever I've seen that error, I've just retried the download several times and eventually it went through. I've only run into it when I was behind a proxy, but that might not be your problem.
Here you have a Android tutorial, step by step.
http://www.vogella.de/articles/Android/article.html
Its means that you are behind a proxy.Go tools->options in your android SDK manager and enter your http Proxy server and port and it'll work.
