"problem in creating first android application without any error"
I am new to android application... I have already installed eclipse Juno and used it to run simple java programs. Then I downloaded Android SDK bundled with ADT, which has eclipse attached with it. Therefore, when I opened newly installed Eclipse ...
I found my old files made in existing IDE also accessed via new eclipse IDE.... and new-- > android app option was too showing
To resolve 2 IDE issue, I deleted old existing IDE in My laptop and using Bundled eclipse, created a new android application ..
But on clicking finish button when i was naming the file: the first step that is now not creating any package or application ..
and not showing any error message..
"I have searched across Google found application creation problems are with error messages...."
but in my case No error message is shown .. still unable to create ...
Not getting what is the problem here..
please help me to find the problem thanks...
Create a new workspace (only for Android apps) from the File menu.
After Eclipse restarts in the newly created workspace, create your File->New->Android app project.
If the above two steps do not work for you, please post if you have Android SDK installed and Eclipse->Preferences->Android is pointing at the right location.

I am new to development am building my first app. As I am getting closer to completion of the project I will need Android Studio... I have installed but it simply fails to launch. I have searched my options on various sources.
Fixes I have already tried:
Added disable.android.first.run=true in the idea file
Did a clean installation
Installed the latest version of Java
Did all of the above again as Admin just in case
Set the JAVA_HOME and JAVA_JRE and cmd %echo% came back with the correct path
There is one thing I noticed. When deleting the Google folder in my Roaming the program runs again but once I pick "Do not import settings" then the program creates this folder but pops the error.
I would post the error message but the error window comes blank.
Thank you in advance for any and all help!
Recently i've started android training, and i've got the below 2 issues.
In my desktop i already had eclipse installed, and when trying to import the android plugins, I was getting some error, so what i did was downloaded eclipse+android package from android developers website and I copied it onto my programs files folder where java is installed and when i open it, it is throwing me an error saying the javaw is not found, goinf through the earlier posts on SO website, i've tried the below.
-vm
\adding the java path
But this didn't work for me. so what i did was installed the same package in my laptop(there is no another eclipse on my laptop). and it started working fine.
On my laptop in the eclipse+android package i write a program and when i hit the Android virtual device manager, it asks me to create a AVD, and when i've filled the entire data here, the OK button is still greyed out. Below is the screenshot.
Also i've tried to create by creating from Device definition, even here i'm not getting the ok button hoghlighted and below is its screenshot
please let me know how can i fix the above issues.
Thanks
Firstly you need not wonder for such a mess ..
For IDE purpose .. go to this link .. https://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/studio.html
Android Studio IDE contains all you need .. Just download ..extract and start creating your first Android project.
And now for tutorials to learn .. try these site ..
(1) https://buckysroom.org/videos.php?cat=6 ( Travis ... provide best tutorial in this world )
(2) https://developer.android.com/index.html
Now you are good to go ..
You can see it clearly says: "CPU/ABI: No system images installed for this target"
So either:
Lower your target.
Update your SDK.
Then set a CPU and you can go on in the AVD creation process.
update the sdk, install ARM/intel(x86) for CPU/ABI
Try using Android Studio by IntelliJ ,as it is for more better than eclipse and moreover ADT plugin for Eclipse is no longer in active development.
if you then also get the same error again try this link android Developer and setup java environment.
Using 3.6.2. When I choose to create a new Android Project, I enter a name, 'FirstProject' but the Finish button remains hollow and I cannot get past creating the project.
I did a little Google research and found a common cause of this is that the support folder that exists in the SDK's extras folder needs to be duplicated and the duplicate named to compatibility. I've done this now, and restarted Eclipse, but this still hasn't fixed the issue.
I also read that Juno causes this problem, but I'm not using Juno.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? Very eager to start an Android App!!
EDIT: A screen of the error:
You need to choose a Build SDK. If there is nothing in that drop-down, please visit the SDK Manager (Window > Android SDK Manager) and download one or more SDK platforms and associated emulators.
Make sure you add the SDK in Eclipse otherwise you will download them all and scratch your head on why they are not working. If you launch SDK manager form SDK folder and not from Eclipse it does not seem to register in Eclipse that you have downloaded these files. Took me several hours for something that should have taken only one or so.
I am a very beginner in android development using eclipse..
I have given an assignment to modify the android application made by a professor..
so I downloaded the file and imported it to eclipse.
My professor can normally run the program..
however, when I tried to test it before modication using simulator, " the application is forced to stop unexpectedly" is shown..
Moreover, I found that all .java file in src contained "x" ...and the codes in the .java file, like "import android.graphics" or "private class xxx" all contained error..which i have been told that "import andorid.graphics" cannot be resolved..
Could anyone tell me what's wrong with the codes...
and kindly provide me the procedures to fix this problem?
is it possible for me to send the zip file to someone..so that he/she can help me find out the problem??
Make sure the Android sdk and ADT are configured properly in Eclipse and you have updated the relevant packages using SDK Manager. Best way to test this is to create a HelloWorld Android app
http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html
Assuming that you have correctly installed the same Android SDK that your professor is using, the first thing to try is to right click on the project name, then select Android > Fix Project Properties.
I've often found that importing existing Android projects into a workspace can be problematic, especially when the project comes from a different machine. A work-around is to create a new Android project, then copy all the sources and resource files into the new project. It's a pain, but it avoids many problems that arise due to different development configurations.
eclipse is working fine with importing a project which already exist. But i am facing problem while am creating a new project in the android.
And then am trying to change the path in the properties of the project which i have created then it is showing some kind of error and screen shot of it is
Can any one help me in this.
Assuming your d: drive is an actual hard drive you have the android-sdk in, and not some DVD/CD drive you tried installing the android-sdk from.
You should click on your new android project folder, right-click and click on "close unrelated projects", then the right files will get generated correctly (re-initiate a manual rebuild if you have to).
The problem was that Eclipse was trying to rebuild all the projects you had in your workspace, a number of which already contained errors in them. Not only those other projects were clogging up your error log, but when an error is detected by the packager/builder, the building process gets stopped entirely.
Now just in case this wasn't your only problem, do Help > Check updates
After that, click on the menu Window > AVD Manager and something
and make sure that you have the latest SDKs and AVD updates already installed.
Also be aware that Pulsar is not the recommended version of Eclipse for doing Android development, although this probably wasn't what was causing your problem.
