emailVerification = false in parse - android

Hi I am trying to use the Parse Api's database for my project which requires user accounts that Parse provides. While I was reading the tutorial on how to set up user accounts at
https://parse.com/docs/android_guide#users it stated:
"Enabling email verification in an application's settings allows the application to reserve part of its experience for users with confirmed email addresses. Email verification adds the emailVerified key to the ParseUser object. When a ParseUser's email is set or modified, emailVerified is set to false. Parse then emails the user a link which will set emailVerified to true."
How exactly would you add the emailVerification key = true whenever a user tries to register:

Using Firebase, how do I catch a specific exception and tell the user gracefully about it? E.g :
FirebaseAuthInvalidCredentialsException: The email address is badly

You can throw the Exception returned by task.getException inside a try block and catch each type of Exception that may be thrown by the method you are using.
Here is an example from the OnCompleteListener for the createUserWithEmailAndPassword method.

You should use ((FirebaseAuthException)task.getException()).getErrorCode() to get the type of error and fail gracefully if this is the error code for a bad formatted email.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the list of error codes used by Firebase.
Trigger the exception once, note the error code and code accordingly.

If you are sending upstream messages from user to cloud, implement firebase callback functions onMessageSent and onSendError to check the status of upstream messages. In error cases, onSendError returns a SendException with an error code.
For example, if the client attempts to send more messages after the 20-message limit is reached, it returns SendException#ERROR_TOO_MANY_MESSAGES.
To catch a firebase Exception is easy, you should add .addOnFailureListener after you add .addOnCompleteListener like this:

According to me the default message is informative enough. So I used it rather than any custom message and it worked pretty well for me.

There are too many Firebase Authentication exceptions to handle, and I'm not sure if handling all of them is a good thing due to a large amount of code to add (as you can see from other answers).
I just got a FirebaseTooManyRequestsException after Task<AuthResult.isSuccessful() returned false:

Using Firebase return an image that is linked to a user account

I am currently working on an app using android studio and currently have a working login using Firebase user authentication. However, I am trying to have an image appear on the screen when the user logs after using this authentication. I want this image to be linked to that specific user. Is this possible?
You can set a photo url on a user's firebase profile with the following code:

Google signin from android app - What to do after signed in success?

I"ve read this question on SO, but im still not clear how i would authenticate a user after a successful google signIn. I have an idea and im looking for approval from you. After a successful google signIn i will have access to the GoogleSignInAccount object. In this object i can do something like store the token and users email as the credentials into a remote db so i can recognize the users profile on my servers end. This could look something like this from android client side:

For me I send the token to my server and then I validate it in the server side with sending request to
https://www.googleapis.com/oauth2/v3/tokeninfo?access_token=YOUR_TOKEN

I wanted to add something. The email address should not be used as the primary key for your local or webserver storage after authenticating the google account. You should use the account ID as user can have multiple email accounts but will alwyas have the same account ID.
So you could do it like this:

String accountID = GoogleAuthUtil.getAccountId(accountName);
now that we have the accountID we can go ahead and use it as as the primary key in any database locally or on a webserver. How else can you handle multiple email accounts ?Or what if user changed the primary email address.

The other thing i wanted to mention is that a hacker could attack your server by just keep guessing the email address of the user, so i would not base it on email address. I would use a token. After i get a token from the google sign in process i would let the android client upload the token to my server but then i would let the server speak to google servers to again verify the email address with this token and verify the token itself.

Create new ParseUser using Google+ AccessToken returns InvalidSession?

I'm trying to create a new ParseUser using a Google+ SignIn. While I'm able to retrieve the access token successfully from Google, I get a ParseException(InvalidSession).
I'll post a few snippets that are relevant.

A similar question has been asked here but there doesn't seem to be a proper solution to it.
Currently Parse doesn't support G+ login. Practically it can be done by using Parse cloud code.
ParseUser.becomeInBackground(); expects Parse User token, but not G+ one.

How can I get twitter user profile in android?

How can I get the user name, email, location, avatar, etc., of an authenticated user of Twitter in Android via the API?
I wrote the code below, but it always returns null at twitter.showUser(twitter.getId());
