I have been using Atlassian Confluence for some time as a documentation tool.
I recently tried looking at the documentation using the inbuilt Chrome browser on a 7" tablet.
To my surprise I found that the left hand navigation tree/menu was completely absent meaning that users cannot navigate past the first page.
I cannot find any way around this and I am hoping for suggestions as to how to make the documentation usable on mobile devices.
The only way to get the side navigation bar to display is to tap on the dropdown menu on the top right side of the Chrome browser and select 'Request Desktop Site'.
This is not really very satisfactory for users trying to read the documentation however as they will not even be aware that a left hand navigation menu exists and still less likely to know how to request the desktop site.
Not really a very satisfactory answer but thought I would put what I had found here in case it is useful for somebody.

I have a question. I wanted to develop an app that would add a shortcut to the keyboard (Samsung SoftKeyboard).
The shortcut should be accessible via the dots at the top right (see attachment).
I would like to add a circle ("floating") over my app, as shown in the picture on the right.
Something specific should then be carried out via this circle (but that's not the point yet).
I've done a little research, but don't really know what to look for.
I hope you can help me.

afaik there is no such possibility to add anything in there. it's another app with own custom settings and options, you can't edit such or change in any way. your last chance is possibility of published API/some communication way for that app, which would allow to add such actions, but I very doubt Samsung made such API for own keyboard app and allowed ANY 3rd-party app to mess in their software... (btw. that would be very insecure for user)
I am developing a browser running on Android. I want to add a feature called "Add to home screen" which makes a shortcut icon on home screen for the webpage shown on the current browser tab. What do you think is the best solution to make the home screen icon?
I decided to use the Favicon of each website. While I tried to use the same function in other browsers such as Chrome, I found that making an icon from Favicon seems to be very common, so I tried to find the best way to get Favicon. I found two easy solutions;
(1) Use API in https://realfavicongenerator.net/
(2) Use API provided by Google; https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=xxx.xxx.xxx
However, the first one needs to be paid. The second one looks like what I want, but the returned favicons are too small (16x16).
I concluded that both are not the right ones for me.
Lastly, I decided to use Jsoup to get Favicon info that is included in section. However, I found two issues.
(1) Not every site specify the URL of Favicon within tags.
(2) Though I can find the URL of Favicon, the size of it is often too small to use.
I just wanted to know what is the best approach that is adopted by the most browsers to make home screen icons for "Add to home screen" feature.
I have a Google Sheet that we use to generate picking tickets for our warehouse. There are several columns that have barcodes. They are generated using the following function call:

This works perfectly and does exactly what we need it to do, which is using a PC to print the ticket and hand it off to the warehouse guys.
In my attempt to make the process more streamlined I want to replace the tickets with an Android tablet and let them scan from there. The benefit to that is that they can also manually update the Sheet with exceptions and other items that are not bar coded. Here is what I have run into:
On the android if I view the Sheet through the Chrome browser it I can see the bar codes fine, but as soon as I hit the edit button, it opens the sheet in the Sheets app and I can no longer see the bar codes.
If I open the sheet in the Sheets app I can edit the cells but can't see the bar codes.
Note, when using my PC workstation I can see the bar codes and edit the sheet with no problems.
So, not sure if this is actually a programming question or not, but what can I do in order to be able to view the bar codes in the Sheets app or to be able to edit the sheet in the browser like I do on my PC? Yes, I have requested the desktop site in options for Chrome.
Any help would be appreciated, I would really like to roll this out and save some paper.
I am now answering my own question in case anyone runs into this. You need to request the desktop site (in Chrome options) as soon as you log into Google Drive AND after you open the sheet. Now the sheet will switch from view only mode to edit mode in the browser.
Bonus question: Is there anyway you can force the browser to always open stuff in the desktop site? Specifically for Google stuff, but for any other site really since larger tablets can handle the 'full' site and don't need to be redirected to the m.version of the site.
I have a website that I've just created that has a jquery-ui slider bar link removed
The slider bar doesn't seems to work properly on my phone which is an android - it could affect other mobile browsers too.
Is there a way of fixing this?

I've just had a look on my phone and it also doesn't work. However, I have noticed in the past that other JavaScript items (on other sites) also don't work, so I don't think it's a specific problem with your site.
In terms of a workaround, you could check the viewer's user agent and display a different selection method if they're on a phone.
Sorry that I don't have a example code for you to see. My question is that I have 8 image buttons for my menu and I need to know how to make the image buttons show and not show.
Meaning When you go to the menu on Android it shows 7 buttons and hides the 1 button that's for iOS and when your on the iOS it shows all 8 image buttons. I have search on Google for two days now still lost.

You will have to make your own modification according to your requirement.
If you're writing a web app and you need to know if the app is being accessed on an Android device or an iOS device, you should look at the user agent string.
Here's a list of iOS devices and their user agent strings: http://www.enterpriseios.com/wiki/UserAgent (First hit on Google, can't speak for the accuracy).
Here's one for Android devices: http://www.gtrifonov.com/2011/04/15/google-android-user-agent-strings-2/ (again, no idea how accurate; do your own research to be sure).
You just have to look at navigator.userAgent in your JavaScript and figure out what device the user is using. That's a start, anyway. (You'll also want to look at the iOS web app documentation to see Apple's specific meta tags and stuff to make your web app work nicely on iOS, and I'm sure Android has something similar).
