I have sencha touch 2 based app and I have facing issue while tapping and holding. Ideally i should get android context menu of copy paste but i dont.
Please refer to below two links.
http://try.sencha.com/touch/2.0.0/docs/Ext.field.TextArea.1/viewer.html
http://try.sencha.com/touch/2.2.0/docs/Ext.field.TextArea.1/viewer.html
On android first one gives the android (not tested on ios) copy paste menu but second one does not. I am facing the smae problem in my live app also.
Please suggest if any solution

This is one of the views I have. I am not getting the default context menu of copy paste on android as well as ios.
Infact the sencha try URL doesnot produce copy paste menus.

TableView not showing in android titanium appcelerator

The TableView is showing in iOS simulator...but it doesn't show in android physical device...
They are running the same code and without error occur.
var row = Titanium.UI.createTableViewRow({
width : Titanium.UI.FILL,
height : "20%",
left : 0,
backgroundColor : "orange",
separatorColor : "transparent",
fav_id:id,
});
var lblTitle = Ti.UI.createLabel({
top : "5%",
left : "0%",
height : Titanium.UI.SIZE,
width : "90%",
text : title,
textAlign : Ti.UI.TEXT_ALIGNMENT_LEFT,
color : "black",
//backgroundColor : 'blue',
maxLines: 2,
touchEnabled : false
});
var lblDate = Ti.UI.createLabel({
top : "50%",
left : "0%",
height : Titanium.UI.SIZE,
width : "90%",
text : date,
textAlign : Ti.UI.TEXT_ALIGNMENT_LEFT,
color : "black",
//backgroundColor : 'blue',
//maxLines:1,
touchEnabled : false
});
var lblCategory = Ti.UI.createLabel({

width : "90%",
text : category,
textAlign : Ti.UI.TEXT_ALIGNMENT_LEFT,
color : "black",
touchEnabled : false
//backgroundColor : 'white',
//maxLines:1,
});
row.add(lblTitle);
row.add(lblDate);
row.add(lblCategory);
dataTable.push(row);
$.tblFavourite.data = dataTable;
what happened to the android os? does design affected to the output of the tableview?
I think percentage is not working in case of tableViewRow.
Try to set row.height = "50dp"
Hope this will help you.
As Suraj already pointed out it is not possible to use percentages as the row height in Android. But there is a workaround I found in the Appcelerator forums:
You should calculate your percentage by yourself. Use Ti.Platform.displayCaps.platformWidth and Ti.Platform.displayCaps.platformHeight for your calculation.
Example for 10% height:
height : Math.floor(Ti.Platform.displayCaps.platformHeight / 10)

Android Soft Keyboard Pushing Controls Up Titanium

I can't seem to figure out why the appearance of the soft keyboard whilst editing a text field on Android causes some of my controls to get pushed up the page. Is there a way to stop a view or a button from being moved up? It makes a real mess!
code:
registration = {};
registration.view = Titanium.UI.createView({

registration.init = function(view, name) {
var Scrolview = Titanium.UI.createScrollView({

i followed this link but the problem remains same.
ANY Solution?
Try this :
In your tiapp.xml file under android tag add this line of code :
<activity android:windowSoftInputMode="stateVisible|adjustResize" . . . >
One of the group of soft input visibility constants, SOFT_INPUT_STATE_ALWAYS_HIDDEN, SOFT_INPUT_STATE_ALWAYS_VISIBLE, SOFT_INPUT_STATE_HIDDEN, SOFT_INPUT_STATE_UNSPECIFIED, or SOFT_INPUT_STATE_VISIBLE.
One of the group of soft input adjustment constants, SOFT_INPUT_ADJUST_UNSPECIFIED, SOFT_INPUT_ADJUST_RESIZE, or SOFT_INPUT_ADJUST_PAN.
Also, check this :
Titanium windowSoftInputMode
Android windowSoftInputMode
Sample Android example here
I have never tried titanium before, however in normal Java android development. we add this code to the manifest under the related activity tag.
<activity
android:name="Your-activity-name"
android:windowSoftInputMode="adjustPan"
...
I read that there is a Custom AndroidManifest.xml in Titanuim 3.x..
Hope this works for you.

Not getting the text box value for tabpanel?

In my application, i have a tab panel in the bottom of the screen. The three tabs are Home, Add Wishlog and Add Feedback. Now when i am clicking the home tab, it is showing me some icons. In Add Wishlog and Add Feedback tab, i added some text boxes and some buttons. I added the addwishlog tabs like below in the screen
{
xtype : 'addwishlog',
styleHtmlContent : true,
title : '+ Wishlog',

Here is the addwishlog.js file:::

} ]
}]
} ]
}
});
The same way i am doing for addFeedback also. Now while i am trying to fetch the value of any of the text field from the addWislog screen, I am getting the error. Some time it is telling the getValue() method is not for this object..while trying to do using
this.getIDofTextbox().getValue();
although i took the correct reference in the controller. If i am trying using getCmp(), i am getting null value.
I am literally confused, because for other screen, i am getting the value from text boxes. The problem i am getting only in this tabpanel js files.
Here is my app.js file:
Ext.Loader.setConfig({
enabled : true
});
Ext.application({
views : ['dashboardpanel', 'TitlePanel', 'wishlogsummary', 'ConsumerSignup', 'FeedbackSummary', 'ConsumerSignin', 'AddFeedback'],
models : [ 'MyModel', 'wishlistmodel', 'feedbacksummarymodel' , 'loginmodel'],
stores : [ 'name', 'wishlistsummarystore', 'feedbacksummarystore' ],
name : 'MyApp',
controllers : [ 'MyController' ],
requires:['Ext.ux.touch.Rating'],
fullscreen: true,
launch : function() {
var Login = {
xtype: 'login'
}
var Dashboard = {
xtype: 'dashboard'
}
var Wishlogsummary = {
xtype: 'wishlogsummarylist'
}
var AddtoWishlog = {
xtype: 'addwishlog'
}
var Consumersignup = {
xtype: 'consumersignup'
}
var FeedbackSummaryList = {
xtype: 'feedbacksummarylist'
}
var Consumersignin = {
xtype: 'Consumersignin'
}
Ext.Viewport.add([Login,Dashboard,Wishlogsummary, FeedbackSummaryList,Consumersignup,Consumersignin]);
}
});
Did i have to change something in the application architecture??
Please help as i am stuck in this issue for a long while and not able to find out the solution..
Actually, there is some problem in my architecture. Now i able to fixed it.

Titanium button.backgroundGradient focus

I am working on a Titanium mobile app and I have a problem with buttonfocusing while using backgroundRadient .
I meet success using the touchstart event (changeBackgroundGradient is simple enough to avoid display here):
authButton.addEventListener('touchstart', function(e) {
changeBackgroundGradient(authButton);
});
But the touchend event is not what I want. It fires only if the user end the touch on the element (behaves as a click event).
Touchmove is not what I want either, as it fires as soon as the user moves.
authButton.addEventListener('touchmove', function(e) {
revertBackgroundGradient(authButton);
});
What I want is: as long as the user is touching the button, the button is on focus. Something like 'ontap' and 'onrelease'.
I know there are backgroundFocusedColor and backgroundFocusedImage, but no backgroundFocusedGradient.
How can I handle button focus while using backgroundGradient property?
I want to have the default behaviour but it seems to stop as soon as I use the backgroundGradient property.
Thanks.

Oh ok, I get it now, it works as intended, it's not a bug, as you're adding the event listener TO the button, so it only applies to the button.
You might want to add a property to authButton called isFocused or something like that. And on the touchstart event, add:
authButton.isFocused:true;
And then add the touchend event on the view/window that contains the authButton with the revert function.
Do you see why?
I did the trick using touchCancel
authButton.addEventListener('touchstart', function(e) {
changeBackgroundGradient(authButton);
});
authButton.addEventListener('touchcancel', function(e) {
revertBackgroundGradient(authButton);
});
I first misunderstood the documentation:
touchcancel
Fired when a touch event is interrupted by the device
The touch event is indeed interrupted by the device if you end the touch outside the element. So it works as intended : as long as you press the screen, the button is orange, once you release the press outside of the button, the button goes back blue.
Thanks for your hints Sismetic, it made me figure out.

TItanium Android Scrollview unscrollable

Im having a scrollview problem and it does not work for me. Even though i have read that the scrollview contentwidth and height 'auto' has a bug and i have scaled it to a large value, it does not scroll down my content. Below is my current code as of now.
var scrollView = Titanium.UI.createScrollView({
contentWidth:'300',
contentHeight:'2000',
top:0,
showVerticalScrollIndicator:true,
showHorizontalScrollIndicator:true
});
var view = Ti.UI.createView({
backgroundColor:'#336699',
borderRadius:10,
width:300,
height:2000,
top:10
});
scrollView.add(view);
var timePickerWin = Ti.UI.createWindow({
navBarHidden : true,
backgroundColor : '#fff'
});
var label = Ti.UI.createLabel({
text:'Pick Up Detail Form',
font: {fontFamily: 'Verdana', fontSize:30},
color: '#000',
top : '15dp'
});
var label2 =Ti.UI.createLabel({
text:'Enter Your Pickup Details Below',
font: {fontFamily: 'Verdana', fontSize:12},
color: '#000',
top : '50dp'
})
var startTime = Ti.UI.createPicker({
top : '335dp',
left : '25dp',
useSpinner : false,
selectionIndicator : true,
type : Ti.UI.PICKER_TYPE_TIME,
format24 : false,
height : '130dp',
// width:'auto'
});
var startDate = Ti.UI.createPicker({
top : '200dp',
left : '25dp',
useSpinner : false,
selectionIndicator : true,
type : Ti.UI.PICKER_TYPE_DATE,
format24 : false,
height : '130dp'
});
var nextButton = Ti.UI.createButton({
width : '150dp',
height : '45dp',
top : '465dp',
title : 'Next',
backgroundColor : '#294079',
font : {
fontSize : '18dp',
fontWeight : 'bold'
},
color : '#fff'
});
nextButton.addEventListener('click', function() {
timePickerWin.hide();
});
startTime.addEventListener('change', function(e) {
//alert("User selected date: " + e.value);
startPickerValue = e.value;
});
startDate.addEventListener('change', function(e) {
//alert("User selected date: " + e.value);
endPickerValue = e.value
});
var fullNameTextBox = Ti.UI.createTextField({
borderStyle : Titanium.UI.INPUT_BORDERSTYLE_ROUNDED,
width : '275dp',
height : '45dp',
//value : '',
top : '75dp',
color : '#000000',
hintText : 'Enter full name'
// backGroundColor:'gray',
});
var addressTextBox= Ti.UI.createTextField({
borderStyle : Titanium.UI.INPUT_BORDERSTYLE_ROUNDED,
width : '275dp',
height : '45dp',
//value : '',
top : '117dp',
color : '#000000',
hintText : 'Enter Address'
});
var MobileNo = Ti.UI.createTextField({
borderStyle : Titanium.UI.INPUT_BORDERSTYLE_ROUNDED,
width : '275dp',
height : '45dp',
//value : '',
top : '155dp',

hintText : 'Enter Mobile No.'
// backGroundColor:'gray',
});
timePickerWin.add(scrollView);
timePickerWin.add(label);
timePickerWin.add(label2);
timePickerWin.add(MobileNo);
timePickerWin.add(startTime);
timePickerWin.add(startDate);
timePickerWin.add(addressTextBox);
timePickerWin.add(fullNameTextBox);
timePickerWin.add(nextButton);
timePickerWin.open()
You need to add all the contents of the scroll view into the scroll view.
Change these lines:
timePickerWin.add(scrollView);
scrollView.add(label);
scrollView.add(label2);
scrollView.add(MobileNo);
scrollView.add(startTime);
scrollView.add(startDate);
scrollView.add(addressTextBox);
scrollView.add(fullNameTextBox);
scrollView.add(nextButton);
Hope this will work for you.
