Filter Logs in Android programmatically - android

This is method to fetch and dump logs in SDCard for Android. This is working fine, but I am wondering if we can put filter to trace logs related to specific tags.
I tried logcat -s *TagIWant; but it didn't work. Any other suggestion?

Replace "Your_Tag" with your tag, that will give you the logs with tag as specified in with priority "Debug" and Above.

You can easily filter the line that you want to write like the code below:

I can't read log from CallNotifier and PhoneUtils

i try read the log generated from "CallNotifier" and "PhoneUtils" but i can't,
i use two ways for this: both are thread (AsyncTask)

This way i filter in
exec("logcat -s CallNotifier");
Don't work
When I filter tag generated from my app the code works. if i filter from PC in terminal i can see log from CallNotifier the problem its when i filter from Android.

How to read XML file and pass to setText as String with all tags and white-characters [Android]

I want to read XML file, save it as String and pass to setText. I don't want to parse it but see it on my smartphone screen with all tags and white-characters, eg.
<a>
<b>some text</b>
</a>
not:
some text
How to do it?

Collect all Log.d from class and save it into SDCard

Hey is it possible in Android to collect all Log.d from one class and keep on appending it and save it into SDCard ?
For example :

You can override the Log class and do that yourself. But is it really required for your purposes?
no, Log.* methods write to the console, however you can use Logger http://developer.android.com/reference/java/util/logging/Logger.html and a FileHandler
If you want to add logs with tag name and
logcat -s <Tagname>
Is not working for you then you can do this trick

How can I send the log file of the android device via email from inside my app?

as an error report I want to send the device and/or application log to a email account. For that I prepared a button in my view. Can someone help me with that, how can I retrieve the log files?
