the scenario is that -- in my application client would make dynamic edit text (of which i m not sure ), but i want to store all the information he creates. All other part have been done.
I just want to know which is the best way to store them in File OR in Database.
As if some says in Database, i want to know how?
and if in File, why?
I will encrypt and decry pt the data too.

Store the data in a database. If you're doing Android development, simply use SQLite - http://www.sqlite.org/.
There are many reasons not to store the data on the file system:
It is easier to query a database than a file system. You can quickly and easily answer questions like "How many records do I have?" or "How many items in a given category do I have?"
If you do this in the file system, you'll have to write your own code around querying.
SQLite has strong data types that enforce a schema. If you just write to a file, you'll have to ensure an ID is an integer etc. The database can do this for you.
From my experience when writing files to the file system, I've always ended up with orphaned files. You write them and then forget they are there and they never get deleted. It's annoying. With a database you can easily assess the state of the database and remove old/unused records.

I'm really new to programming apps - so this question might sound a bit strange:
I'm trying to program an app in android studio, where people can upload different things (basically strings and links put together in some kind of "package") and other peoble can then decide what "packages" they want to add inside their app. However after downloading, this data should be stored on their device and not just in the memory of the phone so that they can use it after restarting the app (and also if theres no internet connection). Do you have any idea what would be the best way to store this data both on the phone and in a database and how to synchronize the data on the phone with the selected data from the database. I really dont want to know how to do this exactly but would rather like some basic ideas and maybe you could tell me what kinds of stuff i should learn in order to succeed and what kind of database would be best here (firebase, MYSQL,..)?

First of all you should decide what DB you are going to use.
In my opinion all RDBMs are good, but using Sqlite in order to achieve best performance on android devices is a good idea.
In your case you need server-side DB and application too.
(Depend on the scenario and framework you use can be different (sql,mysql,PostgreSQL,oracle,...)).
About how to sync local database with server-side you can download new DB from server and replace it with previous one, if you need previous user data you can have 2 different table and update one by downloading it from server, and save id or any identical row from specific package that already saved by user.

If you are talking about local databases. Go for Realm or look up a good ORM on github (Object relational mapping, you dont have to write SQL queries explicitly) .
I would suggest Realm which is very fast and user friendly.

Usually, you'd use an existing API to read the data you want from an existing database somewhere (in this case, often the transport department), and then programmatically iterate over it and store it locally

MySQL is not a graphical program. It is a database. You get various graphical interfaces for it, but on its own it isn't one.

You can write a simple script or app easily enough to allow you to enter the data using a UI
I have been asked to create a tiny android app.
In everyday work i code for .NET and I have no experience connected with Android, but as it is a really small app I guess it's going to be a good experience rather than something hard.
The core of the app would be a small database (probably XML, unless somebody suggest better solution) that would contain categories, names of the institutions assigned with each category and logo (not very high resolution I guess a single file would be <100kB) of the institution.
The database also would not be very big - I expect not more than 1000 records in total. The DB has to be totally offline and local, it cannot require Internet access when operating.
The model I assume would be to ship new version of the application when the database changes (which is not going to be very frequent).
What is the best way to deal with these requirements?
My first idea was to create an XML file that would contain the records and link to the image. The XML and all the images linked to it would be stored in single file (preferably zip) that would be stored in app resources. This is very good as it is going to be very easy to update the database.
The second idea that somebody suggested me would be to use SQLite and store images in BLOB. In general I have read that it isn't a good idea to store images in database directly, and I am afraid if it's going to be possible to meet all requirements mentioned above.
Mostly I have no idea how to update the database easily and attach it to new version of application.
Any suggestions?

I wouldn't go about using XML to save your data and by no means zip anything.
I think your way of thinking is ok, but you're making things really complicated for yourself.
Seeing as you're used to .NET I suppose you're also pretty confident with SQL, so I'd suggest you have a look at how to use the built-in SQLite database in Android.
If you would go the XML route you'd have to serialize and de-serialize the XML file over and over again and then parse the XML. Ok you don't have a lot of data, but searching inside an XML file with at least 1000 nodes would be slow in comparison to the performance of a database.
Also upgrading an existing SQLite database is not that hard - Android has methods for that (onUpgrade coming from the SQLiteOpenHelper).
As to saving images I'm assuming that you won't fetch new pictures from the Internet, so it would be best just to store them in the drawable folder of your app (be mindful of different screensizes) and then reading them into an ImageView when needed. To figure out what image should go for what institution I would store either the image name of each image in the SQLite database or store the resource id for each image in the database - for instance R.drawable.myawesomepictureformyinstitution.
I know my answer is somewhat "superficial", but your question is also somewhat "broad" and hard to answer without me actually writing most of the code, and that's not my intention ;-)

I am writing an app that contains a list of items with their information. When the users open the app, they would see the list, and when they select a particular item, they would get all the information about that item.
Right now my approach is I store the data in a multidimensional array in the java source file. When I push a new update, I might add new items in the java source file (so the array gets bigger). I wonder if this is the best approach. I tried looking up relevant information about array and database on the Internet, but I can't seem to find the information I need. Any advice for me?
Also, if in the future, I create a function for users to add their own items to the list, what's the impact?
If the user should be able to update it, if you should be able to update it dynamically (for instance update from internet), then the database is a must.
If that data is static and won't change unless you update the app, you can store it in the code or better, in a file (you can store in JSON format for ease of reading & parsing)
If use array, the newly added items by the user will be gone when the app restarts.
You can use a SQLite database stored directly on your phone (sd card for example).

The database is good for permanent data, but realize it can create a bottleneck if writing to disk is not really necessary.
I am in the middle of refactoring an App to no longer use SQLite. I was inserting large amounts(10,000-100,000) of new rows at once, and it looked like it was going to take an hour based on my log feedback of the status. When I keep it in memory, it all loaded in about 5 seconds.
I'm making a game to run on android. So I want to store player names and the winner, which I will also list up in a view. What is the best way to do this, use a database or write to a file (if so, what type, xml?). I have to be able to add data after every completed game, and the size won't be so large. What would be the best solution?
IMO, using a SQLite database would be the most straightforward. You don't have to worry about the xml parsing that goes along with an xml file. Additionally, the data your storing seems to have a natural relationship that would be conducive to a SQLite schema. SQLite is great if you have database concerns and want that sort of data lookup.
However, if you really want to do it Simply with XML then you can in Android.
