Android Studio: Restart Error: No Android facet found for main - android

I have upgraded my Android studio to 2.9 and I have been getting this error when I try to run my code.
Restart Error: No Android facet found for main
On surfing the web , I found this solution
No Android facet found, issues compiling with Android Studio 0.2
But the new Android studio does not have these options in the 'Project Structure'.
Can anybody suggest any fix?

Try to open Project Structure of your project (right click on project -> Open Module Settings), and check if in Facets is added your project, if not - " + " add it. Its worked for me...

There is already an update for AS 0.2.10. Try to update AS.
And if you still get the same error:
I don't know if this will help but you also could try to import your project instead of opening it (-> your *.iml files will be generated new by as). But be careful, you have to select the right file: settings.gradle.

how to create a dll of the project

Actually I am working on Xamarin.Forms Project in visual studio 2012.When I build the solution then it gives the following error-
Metadata file "Prject name.dll" could not be found.
How to overcome from this problem.
Close VS.
Delete all bin and obj folders in the project (pcl and platform).
Open VS and project.
Make sure you have all projects are selected on your build configurations.
Clean.
Rebuild.
See if that works.
Also what is the version of forms ? Does it happen if you try one of the templates file-> new project ?

Phonegap project doesn't compile

If I create a new Phonegap project, like this:
phonegap create . com.something.test "Test"
phonegap build android
And then import this into Android Studio, via "Import Project" -> "Create project from existing sources" -> Next (lots of times) -> Finish, and then just try to build without any modifications, I get this:
Error:(4, 14) java: duplicate class: org.apache.cordova.BuildConfig
Am I missing a step or is there an issue with Cordova 3.6.3 / Android Studio 0.5.1 ?
Interestingly, from Project Settings -> Modules, I analysed CordovaLib and Android Studio told me there was no dependancy for it, so I chose to remove. Now compilation seems to work!
I'm not sure why this needs removing but hopefully it'll help someone else too.

Android Studio "Project Structure" not coming properly

I follow all the necessary steps for Android Studio installation. I also checked this question, but still facing the same issue.
But whenever I create any new project, following screen come. I couldn't found any project structure as I can see in Eclipse.
Here, I can't find any "src","res" or any file structure. Any idea, how to get proper Project Structure?
when I tried to add "New Module" following error comes to submit.

When I go to Edit Configuration, can't create any module due to above error.
Go to File > Project Structure > Project Settings > Modules.
Click on the green colored + and add new module.
select Application module and set the content root to your project module.
Click next and then finish.
This should do the trick and the complete project structure will appear.
It worked for me.
Change the SDK to a level that you have installed in the SDK manager. The SDK manager can be accessed from Tools -> Android -> SDK Manager. For me, Android Studio was packaged with API Level 17 but the new project wizard tried to target API Level 18.
When something like that happens to me, to fix it, I go to
File -> Project Structure -> Modules, click (+) to add a module.
To import the main module you have to search for the IML extension file to load the project structure configuration again (for example app.iml), and thats all. I hope it helps.
Kip2's solution worked for me with a slight variation:
1.) File -> Invalidate Cached/Restart..
once android studio restarts:
2.) File -> Sync Project with Gradle Files
Just doing "File -> Sync Project with Gradle Files" (or doing "File -> Sync with File System"), did not correct the problem. I had to invalid the cache first, and then sync the project with gradle files for the project to display properly.
Finally find solution.
Whenever Android Studio starts, it search for "Gradle" installation. If not found, it will download new version of it and cache it here.
C:\Documents and Settings\user\.gradle\wrapper\dists\gradle-1.6-bin\72srdo3a5eb3bic159kar72vok
Here 72srdo3a5eb3bic159kar72vok directory name may be different.
What you need to do is, download gradle-1.6-bin.zip, place it in above directory. Then decompress it there. But make sure your path should like below.
C:\Documents and Settings\crathod.SOLUSOFTINDIA\.gradle\wrapper\dists\gradle-1.6-bin\72srdo3a5eb3bic159kar72vok\gradle-1.6\bin
Now, when you restart your Android Studio, Gradle will be initialized and Project will opened in Full Project Structure.
Modules or the project structure could also not appear because you're in a branch where *.iml files are missing. This happened for me when I was migrating from Eclipse and had decided to check back into the original branch that had the Eclipse-like project structure. What solved my problem:
Checkout the branch with Android Studio-like project structure
File -> Invalidate Cache & Restart
Also, make sure that the root iml file matches case with your root folder. Incorrectly named iml file will cause such problems.
Just delete the root iml file (you can backup if you like), close the project and re-open it. Android Studio will generate the correct iml file and the project structure will be restored.
This is tested on Android Studio 2.1
Before:

After:

I got the java folder (src folder) and others.
Solution:

File > Sync Project with Gradle Files
Android Studio Version: 3.2.1
Note: This case did not appear on the old version. For example, 1.5.1 (2016/03 before)

Android Studio bug / issue
simple way to restore
Delete the project hidden .idea file and .gradle file and restart your project this will fix your issue.
I deleted the app from the list of apps when you open Android Studio, then I reimported the project.
For Android Studio 2.2, you can simply click the left bottom and then select Project
In Android Studio 2.3.1, you don't have the Application module option if you wanted to add a module. The best solution is to right click your project and select "Jump to the source" from the menu. That solved my issue.

APK path is not specified for module "Example-Example"

I am newbie in the world of android app development. I was creating a project Example on Android Studio. I have my LunchList.java file in src/main/java/apt.tutorial.lunchlist .Till yesterday Everything was working fine. But when I open android Studio today I got an error saying
"The modules below have been removed from Gradle structure. Check
those to be removed from the project too:"
☑ LunchList
☑ LunchList-LunchList
And there is OK and Cancel Button. I don't want to remove them. So I click cancel and proceed.
Then when I tried to run the application in emulator the emulator runs but nothing happens. And I got this error
Waiting for device.
Target device: emulator-5554 (Android)
ERROR: APK path is not specified for module "LunchList-LunchList"
I don't know what went wrong. Please help me.
[Edit: I tried unchecking both of them and click OK. But after that I'm not getting the first error but still getting the second error ]
Exit Android studio. Launch it with Administrator Privilege.
This solved the problem with Android Studio v0.1 in Windows 7.
I had the same issue, I unselected the 2 files and then received the error
"ERROR: APK path is not specified for module"
I just restarted Android Studio and reopened the project and then it worked normal again.
It is indeed a bug but there's a simple work around.
Here's what worked for me: delete .idea/ and *.iml files, then open a project again (as gradle project) - all the idea files will be recreated - and everything works fine
I had the same error with IntelliJ CE.
I fixed it by choosing "Inherit project compile output path" in the strong text imodule settings (Paths tab > Compiler output)
In my case, I imported the same project over again. Android Studio overrode the old settings. Then this error went away!
this happened when i update to 2.0. i had to change the dependencies in the build.gradle file under src dir not gradle dir. change from
dependencies {
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:0.4.0'
}
to
dependencies {
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:0.5.+'
}
Not sure how much help this will be, but I saw that same error this morning after updating to Android Studio 0.2.0. First, I needed to modifying my build.gradle file to indicate that the correct gradle plugin to use with my project was version 0.5.0 (rather than 0.4). After modifying build.gradle, I saw the "APK path is not specified for module .." error when attempting to build. I solved this by simply quitting and restarting Android Studio.
I had the same issue and found the solution.
Stackoverflow Question
this is the same way to fix the error
Also lower down in there is "SDKs" i also had to make them match.
Name and Build Target.
Hope it helps it did me. apparently the IntelliJ is what Android Studio is.
I've found that the issue is usually if you've changed or moved the folder to a different location.
If you open up the .idea folder in AndroidStudio, have a search for any reference to the old location. If you find some, just replace with the new location. It would seem some of the lines are hardcoded.
There is a manual "how to move project" here
I moved progect, got your problem, followed this manual, got window like you and choose "OK".
And now it works very well.
It helped me to set the right SDK...
I used the one in Program Files, what did not work!
Then i found out to use the following SDK (set in local.properties):
sdk.dir=C:/Program Files (x86)/Android/android-studio/sdk
Hope this helps...
I find this:
http://www.chrisdew.com/blog/2013/07/17/android-studio-nosuchmethoderror-lazystringarraylist/
it is realy help for me.
Thus, in my case, the problem was to have two libraries:
protobuf-2.4.1.jar
and new protobuf-2.5.0.jar
it resulted error:
APK path is not specified for module “Example-Example”
To correct this, rename file protobuf-2.4.1.jar to protobuf-2.4.1.jar.disabled
mv protobuf-2.4.1.jar protobuf-2.4.1.jar.disabled
Finally! Updated solution found here:
Android APK path is not specified for module
Open Project structure
Click on Modules tab
Expand your project and click on Android
On right side click on Compiler tab
Looking for "APK path" field
Enter your project root folder, i.e. /Users/bla/project/my.apk
Click Apply and Ok

Error: Android source build in eclipse

While trying to add android source to eclipse, I am getting the following errors.
Project 'android' is missing required library: 'out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/gsf-client_intermediates/javalib.jar'
Project 'android' is missing required library: 'out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/google-common_intermediates/javalib.jar'
FYI, I have built the source successfully with full_maguro-userdebug configuration (for Galaxy Nexus) before adding this to eclipse. Since I couldn't find "create project from existing source" in Eclipse Indigo, I changed the location of the project to the root directory of the source. I refreshed the project several times with same error.
How to solve this issue?
You should go to Project -> Properties -> Java Build Path.
There open tab Libraries.
In this tab out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/google-common_intermediates/javalib.jar should be changed to out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/android-common_intermediates/javalib.jar by selecting javalib.jar from google-common_intermediates, pressing Edit and selecting instead android-common_intermediates.
Entry with gsf-client_intermediates javalib.jar can be simply deleted.

I would not recommend using eclipse for android source. Android is not a single project and it too big for an IDE like eclipse to handle.
Use simpler plain text editors like vim, emacs to browse the code
