Displaying values to a TextView - android

hi i have problem in displaying a value into my TextView..
For example i will input 1,2,3,4 then i like to display the output in this manner in my TextView..How can i do that? please help me, thank you in advance
1 appeared 1 times
2 appeared 1 times
3 appeared 1 times
4 appeared 1 times
here's my code:
String []values = ( sum.getText().toString().split(","));
double[] convertedValues = new double[values.length];
Arrays.sort(convertedValues);
int i=0;
int c=0;
while(i<values.length-1){
while(values[i]==values[i+1]){
c++;
i++;
}
table.setText(values[i] + " appeared " + c + " times");
c=1;
i++;
if(i==values.length-1)
table.setText(values[i] + " appeared " + c + " times");

Make your textView to support multipleLines and after that create in code a StringBuffer and append to it the results, something like
resultString.append(result).append(" appeared").append(c).append(" times\n");
after that you set text for textView like:
textView.setText(resultString.toString());

Here is the idea :
// this is test string, you can read it from your textView
String []values = ( "2, 1, 3, 5, 1, 2".toString().split(","));
int [] intValues = new int[values.length];
// convert string values to int
for (int i = 0; i < values.length; ++i) {
intValues[i] = Integer.parseInt(values[i].trim());
}
// sort integer array
Arrays.sort(intValues);
StringBuilder output = new StringBuilder();
// iterate and count occurrences
int count = 1;
// you don't need internal loop, one loop is enough
for (int i = 0; i < intValues.length; ++i) {
if (i == intValues.length - 1 || intValues[i] != intValues[i + 1]) {
// we found end of "equal" sequence
output.append(intValues[i] + " appeared " + count + " times\n");
count = 1; // reset count
} else {
count++; // continue till we count all equal values
}
}
System.out.println(output.toString()); // prints what you extected
table.setText(output.toString()); // display output

unable to retrieve values from two different arraylist

i am having two different arraylist of diffrent size,my problem is that i have to retrieve values from both the list and show that on to a textview,when i am using two loops it is first completing the inner loop and than executing outer loop and the vales are getting printed two times and if using break to break the inner loop it is completely ignoring inner loop after 1st loop.
ArrayList<LocationDto>location = new ArrayList<>();
education<EducationDto> = new ArrayList<>();
if (education.size() != 0) {
for (int j = 0; j < education.size(); j++) {
for (int k = 0; k < location.size(); k++) {
if (!education.get(j).getSpecializationTitle().equalsIgnoreCase("") && !location.get(k).getLocationName().equalsIgnoreCase("")) {
tvEducation.append(education.get(j).getEducationTitle() + "(" + education.get(j).getSpecializationTitle() + ")" + " Located at " + location.get(k).getLocationName());
} else if (education.get(j).getSpecializationTitle().equalsIgnoreCase("") && !location.get(k).getLocationName().equalsIgnoreCase("")) {
tvEducation.append(education.get(j).getEducationTitle() + " Located at " + location.get(j).getLocationName());
} else if (!education.get(j).getSpecializationTitle().equalsIgnoreCase("") && location.get(k).getLocationName().equalsIgnoreCase("")) {
tvEducation.append(education.get(j).getEducationTitle() + "(" + education.get(j).getSpecializationTitle() + ")");
} else {
tvEducation.append(education.get(j).getEducationTitle());
}
if (j != education.size() - 1) {
tvEducation.append(" , ");
}
break;
}
}
} else {
tvEducation.setText("Not Specified");
tvEducation.setTextColor(getResources().getColor(R.color.color_three));
}
what should i do now?
The break statement terminates a loop regardless of whether it has completed or not, so your problem is that you've put a break directly inside your inner for loop without some sort of condition. Therefore the first time the loop runs it will reach the break which is why it's terminating on the first iteration!
You probably mean to put the break inside the last if statement?

FlexboxLayout count lines

I need to add views programmatically to FlexboxLayout and for each view added check if it created a new row or not.
How can I get Row count?
Tried:
for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) {
flexboxlayout.add(createView(this.getContext(), i));
//log
Log.e("position: " + i + " ; row count -> " + flexboxlayout.getFlexLines().size());
}
getFlexLines method does not always return the expected Line count.

How to format single textview like below in android without using \n or html format?

This type of formatting i need i don't want to use \n or br because my string is dynamic and i want to fix any text in this this format
This is my first textview
This is my second
textview this
is my third
textview
You can do it programmatically using this function
val text = "This is my first text view this is my second textview this is my third textview"
textView.text = proxyWifi.textFormation(text)
copy/paste this code do your project :)
public String textFormation(String text){
String result = "";
String[] sentenceWords = text.split(" ");
List<String> newSentenceWords = new ArrayList<>();
textRec(sentenceWords, newSentenceWords, sentenceWords.length -1, 0, "");
int spacing = 0;
for(int i = newSentenceWords.size() -1 ; i >= 0 ; i--){
if(i == newSentenceWords.size() -1)
result = newSentenceWords.get(i);
else{
result += "\n";
spacing += (newSentenceWords.get(i + 1).length() - newSentenceWords.get(i).length())/2;
for(int j = 0 ; j < spacing ; j++){
result += " ";
}
result += newSentenceWords.get(i);
}
}
return result;
}
public void textRec(String[] words, List<String> newWords, int indexWords, int indexNewWords, String sentence){
Log.e("sentence", sentence);
if(indexWords >= 0){
if(indexNewWords == 0) {
newWords.add(words[indexWords]);
textRec(words, newWords, indexWords - 1, ++indexNewWords, "");
}else{
if(newWords.get(indexNewWords - 1).length() >= sentence.length())
if(sentence.isEmpty())
textRec(words, newWords, indexWords - 1, indexNewWords, words[indexWords]);
else
textRec(words, newWords, indexWords - 1, indexNewWords, words[indexWords] + " " + sentence);
else {
newWords.add(sentence);
textRec(words, newWords, indexWords , ++indexNewWords, "");
}
}
}else{
if(sentence.isEmpty()){
return;
}else{
newWords.set(indexNewWords - 1 ,sentence + " " + newWords.get(indexNewWords - 1)) ;
}
}
}
OUTPUT
There is no default implementation for this. Also, you can't find the line number to do this.
So you have to split the sentence into multi lines.Use \n for next line. Set gravity center to your textView.
if you use \n then your next line will be start from
This is my first textview
<here>
<not here>
So, basically you need multiple TextViews.
First devide your text String to multiple parts(Note:- (n+1)th part should be less than nth part and deff. should be both end space).
Second Create a LinearLayout with vertical orientation and center gravity.
Third loop on that array.
and in loop create a new textview with gravity center, and set the text to it.
and add this TV to linearLayout.
thats it.
I tried to give you result as you want
This may work
activity_main.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

int cutLength = 35;
int count = 0;
int from = 0;
for(int i = 0 ; i < str.length(); i++){
//increment of count

//check count value with cutLength so that we can add \n to string

// reduce cutLength value

ArrayList Skip Data when Show?

UPDATE SOLVED :
i don't know what happened, my Array is work normally when i add this code :
EditText editText= new EditText(this);
editText.setId(456 + i);
mSurveyView.addView(editText);
I don't know how to title this question. Because i am confused, but i will explain my problem with code
So, I have ArrayList data, ex : 1 2 3 4 5 , but when i try to show/debug just get 3 data like 1 3 5. I think, the ArrayList skip my data?
This is my code :
if (dataSurvey.listFieldSurvey.size() > 0) {
for (int i = 0; i < dataSurvey.listFieldSurvey.size(); i++) {
FieldSurvey xx = dataSurvey.listFieldSurvey.get(i);
String type = xx.metaSurvey.name;
Log.d("Tag", "type text " + dataSurvey.listFieldSurvey.size());
labelCaption = new TextView(getActivity());
labelCaption.setId(456 + i);
labelCaption.setText(xx.name + ". " + xx.caption);
labelCaption.setTypeface(Typeface.DEFAULT_BOLD);
mSurveyView.addView(labelCaption);
}
}
I tried Log.d "Tag", i have data size 5, but just show 3 data when i tried to show

String Multiline - Android

i got this issue and i don't know how to solve it. Here is the problem:
1 - i have a data in my database who i split into a strings[] and then i split this strings[] into another 2 strings[] (even and odd lines). Everything works fine but when i want to join all the lines into a single String i got a multi line string intead of a single line. Someone can help me?
data
abcdef//
123456//
ghijkl//
789012
code:
String text = "";
vec1 = data.split("//"); //split the data
int LE = 0;
for (int a = 0; a < vec1.length; a++) { //verify how many even and odds line the data have
if (a % 2 == 0) { //if 0, LE++
LE++;
}
}
resul1 = new String[LE];
int contA = 0, contB = 0;
for (int c = 0; c < resul1.length; c++) {
if (c % 2 != 0) {
text += " " + resul1[c].toLowerCase().replace("Á","a").replace("Ã","a").replace("ã","a").replace("â","a").replace("á","a").replace("é","e").replace("É","e")
.replace("ê","e").replace("í","i").replace("Í","i").replace("ó","o").replace("Ó","o").replace("õ","o").replace("Õ","o").replace("ô","o").replace("Ô", "o")
.replace("Ú","u").replace("ú","u").replace("ç","c").replace("_","").replace("<","").replace(">","");
contA++;
}
}
And the String looks like
abcdef
ghijkl
instead of
abcdefghijkl
You should use replaceAll() method.
text.replaceAll("\\r\\n|\\r|\\n", ""); // the method removes all newline characters
