I have downloaded the Google Play Services SDK to use Google Maps in my app but when I try to import it, it doesn't find the file, even though the lib is there. Done so many times but all in vain.
Thanks
First of all you need to create the correct api key. If the key is wrong the map will not load. Follow this link. It teaches maps nicely: http://www.androidhive.info/2013/08/android-working-with-google-maps-v2/

I tried to add map activity in my android application. I generated the API key and without any error I have finished the coding but in my output I am not getting the map displayed only the grid lines are visible. Please help me to display the map or please help me with the codes. I have installed the respective Google libraries.
This problem is usually derived from a problem in referencing google-play-service library.
Take a look at this blog post I wrote on how to integrate Google Maps in your application, especially the first 3 steps:
Google Maps API V2
another cause of this could be that you haven't configured the Google API Console properly, so I suggest you to take a look at this guide as well:
Google Maps API V2 Key
another reason that may cause this is if you have some kind of problem in your permissions in the manifest file. You can look at the first guide for the needed permissions as well.
So, I am building a simple PhoneGap application that loads a Google Maps API V3 view. I have searched far and wide for an answer, but I have not found a thing. I get the following error when trying to load the API:
"Google has disabled the use of Maps API for this application. The provided key is not a valid Google API Key, or it is not authorized for the Google Maps Javascript API V3 on this site."
I have tried everything. In Cordova, I have all domains whitelisted (""), and the same in the Google Play Developer Console (""). I have even tried whitelisting "file://", but no such luck.
What drives me nuts is, when I use my code outside of the scope of PhoneGap, it works fine. Can anybody shed some light? Thanks!
I have the same issue.
I changed the Google developers console Api key referrers from '*' to '' and then solved my problem.
Just leave the referrers field it blank.
I hope it help. I spent about 4 hours to solve it :#
I want to use google map coordinate in my android application.
http://www.google.com/intl/en/enterprise/mapsearth/products/coordinate.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=NA-LCS-2013-Geo-Products-MapsCoordinate-HouseAds&utm_term=%2Bgoogle%20%2Bcoordinate&utm_content=SearchAd&gclid=COy759vU2LsCFVMdtAodNGYAdg
I found this example on google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.geo.enterprise.flak
I searched on internet but didn't find documentation about how to implement google coordinate in my anndoid app.
Did any one used this before? If yes can you please put links of tutorial or links of samples?
Try this link, to the Google Maps Coordinate API Client Library for Java.
Otherwise, if you want to start from scratch, it's a RESTful api. There are a number of clients and libraries that you could use, including Volley. Also, here is a tutorial for making remote calls.
You can find everything you need here.
I have done it following this official tutorial recently. The version 2 of Google Maps Android API is different from version 1 in many points.
We have an application that uses google maps' api.
After following the tutorial on how to generate a keystore, fingerprint and api key here: http://code.google.com/android/add-ons/google-apis/mapkey.html. We have successfully run our application with maps showing.
But after sometime the map stop showing, I tried to create a new key using the same procedure but didn't work. Finally I tried creating on a new machine and it worked. Is anyone have any idea what's causing this problem?
Did you know that Google has limitation on request to be processed? While you run your application, how many request (roughly) google maps should serve then?

my question is short.
I am making an application that creates and uses .kml map files. I thought it would be a very good idea if the user could upload his maps to Google "My maps" server (which imports .kml files through the browser version) from my application, and also load them afterwards. However, I have not found any documentation related to this possibility, and I have spent hours looking through the internet and the Google Maps Android API, without luck.
Does anyone know if my idea is possible? Or google keeps this closed for their internal applications?
Thanks :)
There is an API to upload .kml files to Google Maps (the Google Maps Data API), but it doesn't work due to a bug that Google have decided not to fix for some reason.
See my answer to the question "how can I upload a kml file with a script to google maps?" for the details
