issue with meta data in android studio - android

Hi guys I've already try all the tutorials found here and in the developers site and I can't mannage to find the answer to my issue... ok I'm trying to make a simple app that render a map using gmaps... so I had already download the proper libreries... and in my build.gradle I compile them... so first let me show you my code...
this is my manifest.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="com.solmoviles.gpsmovil"
android:versionCode="1"
android:versionName="1.0" >
<uses-sdk
android:minSdkVersion="8"
android:targetSdkVersion="19" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"/>
<uses-permission android:name="com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES"/>
<!-- The following two permissions are not required to use
Google Maps Android API v2, but are recommended. -->
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION"/>
<uses-feature
android:glEsVersion="0x00020000"
android:required="true"/>
<application
android:allowBackup="true"
android:icon="#drawable/ic_launcher"
android:label="#string/app_name"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme" >
<activity
android:name="com.solmoviles.gpsmovil.MainActivity"
android:label="#string/app_name" >
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
</intent-filter>
</activity>
<meta-data
android:name="com.google.android.gms.version"
android:value="#integer/google_play_services_version" />
</application>
and here you have my build.gradle
dependencies {
compile 'com.android.support:appcompat-v7:+'
compile 'com.google.android.gms:play-services:4.0.30'
compile 'com.android.support:appcompat-v7:18.0.0'
}
and finaly here you have my logcat error

so When I change the format of the meta data to the suggested one... it throws an error that says it was expecting a value of 4050300 and viceverse... PLEASE HELP ME...
after applying the suggestion Emmanuel provide me I have this
here you have the manifest as the way you suggested...
<application
android:allowBackup="true"
android:icon="#drawable/ic_launcher"
android:label="#string/app_name"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme" >
<activity
android:name="com.solmoviles.gpsmovil.MainActivity"

</intent-filter>
</activity>
<meta-data
android:name="com.google.android.maps.v2.API_KEY"
android:value="AIzaSyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx7Wb8"/>
</application>
for security reasons I put the x on the api key... and the logcat is showing this

You have to have both meta-data's - play services version AND map API key, so you manifest would look like:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="com.solmoviles.gpsmovil"
android:versionCode="1"
android:versionName="1.0" >
<uses-sdk
android:minSdkVersion="8"
android:targetSdkVersion="19" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"/>
<uses-permission android:name="com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES"/>
<!-- The following two permissions are not required to use
Google Maps Android API v2, but are recommended. -->
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION"/>
<uses-feature
android:glEsVersion="0x00020000"
android:required="true"/>
<application
android:allowBackup="true"
android:icon="#drawable/ic_launcher"
android:label="#string/app_name"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme" >
<activity
android:name="com.solmoviles.gpsmovil.MainActivity"
android:label="#string/app_name" >
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
</intent-filter>
</activity>
<meta-data
android:name="com.google.android.gms.version"
android:value="#integer/google_play_services_version" />
<meta-data
android:name="com.google.android.maps.v2.API_KEY"
android:value="your_api_key"/>
</application>

Like the Exception says, you are missing your API Key. You should have a structure like this on your AndroidManifest.xml just before the closing </application> tag:
<meta-data
android:name="com.google.android.maps.v2.API_KEY"
android:value="API_KEY"/>

I implemented Admob accordingly to the guide.
¿Should I add an Admob activity?

But this has been for a long time (since 1' July... when started suddenly with a spike...) and google is "fixing it"... could this be related?

SupportMapFragment not found

I am trying to get Google Maps Android API v2 working on Android 2.2 on a HTC Desire.
My main.xml contains the following:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="dk.sw510e13.user"
android:versionCode="1"
android:versionName="1.0" >
<uses-sdk
android:minSdkVersion="8"
android:targetSdkVersion="16" />
<application
android:allowBackup="true"
android:icon="#drawable/ic_launcher"
android:label="#string/app_name" >
<activity
android:name="dk.sw510e13.user.MainActivity"
android:label="#string/app_name" >
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
</intent-filter>
</activity>
</application>
</manifest>
This is my activity.
package dk.sw510e13.user;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.support.v4.app.FragmentActivity;
import android.view.Menu;
public class MainActivity extends FragmentActivity {
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.main);
}
#Override
public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) {
// Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present.
getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.main, menu);
return true;
}
}
When I run the application, I will get the following exception. It seems that it cannot find SupportMapFragment, however, I believe that I have both the support library and Google Play Services as dependencies. When creating the project in Android Studio I chose to add support for fragments.

This is the problem that seems to be occurred when missing Google Play services.
I request you to please follow the steps mentioned below to get the Google Play services to be included in your application.
copying the google-play-services.jar in libs folder and set in the build path of eclipse is a wrong method.
import Google Play services in your project and add it in workspace.
from location of your SDK folder.
\extras\google\google_play_services\libproject\google-play-services_lib
2! Now you added Google Play Services to your work space, we have to create a reference
from our project to this library. Right-Click your project and choose “Properties” go
to the Android section, in the lower part press the “Add…” button and add a reference
to that library. Your result should be as in the screen shot bellow:
adding Google Play services library
Please Add
<permission
android:name="com.anchit.locationapi.maps.permission.MAPS_RECEIVE"
android:protectionLevel="signature" />
in your manifest

Google Play Service library and Google Maps

I try to create a simple GoogleMap by Using Google Play Service and Google Maps API. But all the times I get errors...
I´m working with IntelliJ 12.1, here my full Code:

}
}

</manifest>
I think the Problem is how I include the GooGlePlayService... I´ve tried to add as module, as libary as External Libary but I don't know how to include and to use it right... :(

****EDIT2**
Problem solved by using this: java.lang.noclassdeffounderror: com.google.android.gms.R$styleable**
The only thing I find missing in your RecorderMap.java file is that you haven't imported the SupportFragment class. So add this line to it
import com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment;
If that doesn't work, then check out the following.
From what you are saying, it means you have already installed the google play services. If not, then try installing it using this link http://developer.android.com/google/play-services/setup.html
After that, referencing the google play services library should be as easy as editing your build.gradle file. The current version of android studio makes this possible. Under dependencies in your build.gradle file, add the following code
compile 'com.google.android.gms:play-services:3.1.36'
You seem to have your API key intact.
Finally, remember you need to test your app on an actual android device and not an emulator. The android API version 2 is not yet able to display maps on emulators.
I think this should be okay for your app to work.

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError in android

I updated the Sherlock action bar library to new version in my project. After compiling and running logcat shows NoClassDefFoundError.
I have checked the jar versions. I have added the jars in project libs folder. I also checked order and export tab in build path. I also tried clean and build. Still i am getting NoClassDefFoundError.
My LogCat is shown below

If you are using jar file. Do not add by "java Build path". Jar file should be in libs folder. if there is not libs folder create it and please put your jar file in libs folder. Then Right click on jar file and do build path and add to build path.
thank u
com.mobiotics.tvbuddydemo.TVBuddyMainActivity is not declared in android manifest file.
you have declared android:name=".TVBuddyMain" whic is not needed.
furthermore accessing static method inside an activity is not good idea.
TVBuddyMainActivity.setSuccess(false)
pass that false value through intent.

PhoneGap APK runs fine but crashes on each run after Google Play deployment

I have built an application for a large multicultural festival in my city that kicks off on Saturday. I've tweaked a lot of bugs in the iPhone version and we are waiting for Apple to approve it. I have taken that perfected version as the basis for the Android version.
The Android version looks and works great. I can run it on my Samsung Galaxy S II by either "Run as Android Application" in Eclipse or by uploading it to a server and downloading it into the phone. I can also email the app to myself and it works, too. I submitted it to the Google Play store and once it got into the wild (this is advertised on billboards, buses, everywhere) it crashes the minute it is opened.
I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this when it works fine on the device before publication. I read about how it has to do with the MainActivity activity name, but everything looks like it lines up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am in quite the pickle.

It turned out my main Java file was named "MainActivity.java" but it was being called as "Folklorama.java" throughout the project files. I renamed the file to Folklorama.java.
