How to favorite android app Programmatically on android? - android

I'm looking for a way to programmatically favorite an android app. I need to do this either in Java or in Android Shell. It doesnt matter if the method requires SU/Root or not.
By favoriting an app I mean adding a quick launch icon to the "footer" of the home screen.
Thank you very much in advance. I've spend hours on this problem and I cant seem to find an answer.

Android SoftKeyboard shortcut

I have a question. I wanted to develop an app that would add a shortcut to the keyboard (Samsung SoftKeyboard).
The shortcut should be accessible via the dots at the top right (see attachment).
I would like to add a circle ("floating") over my app, as shown in the picture on the right.
Something specific should then be carried out via this circle (but that's not the point yet).
I've done a little research, but don't really know what to look for.
I hope you can help me.
thanks in advance
Example
afaik there is no such possibility to add anything in there. it's another app with own custom settings and options, you can't edit such or change in any way. your last chance is possibility of published API/some communication way for that app, which would allow to add such actions, but I very doubt Samsung made such API for own keyboard app and allowed ANY 3rd-party app to mess in their software... (btw. that would be very insecure for user)

How to not make my app openable?

Sorry if my question is phrased badly, but I'm currently developing an icon pack for android that does not have its own dedicated app, and it shouldn't. I am currently using this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399426 as source code (since I'm an android noob) and am having difficulty trying to stop the "open" being an option after the installation of the icon pack, as it simply takes the user to a blank app activity.
Please keep in mind that I am a total noob and have very little experience in java. If it's possible, could someone simply point me in the direction of the file and line I should edit/add to solve my problem?
Thanks!
In your Manifest file go to your MainActivity's <intent-filter> tag and remove
category name="android.app.category.LAUNCHER"

Android: How to access display (Activity) of different app that is not shown in upper layer

Hello Android developers,
Im more or less expierenced in Android programming and now i want to create an app that is allowed to access the display of another app or the activity that is less my app. Both apps should be active, should run. My app shall access the display data of the other app (also can be android system display), change it a bit and then show it again.
Is it possible without root rights?
Is there any Android support class that could help me? Which way i can go?
I hope my problem is clear and you can help me!
Ok now I have a more detailed question: How can open my app and show a transparent RelativeLayout, so that you can see what is below my app?
Thankyou a lot
Martin
If both applications are yours, you can access the other Activity using a connection between them (sockets, pipes, shared files, etc.)
If you'd like to create an overlay and display something on top of the other app, you can do that using a 'system window' popup. For example: Popup window in any app
If the other app is an arbitrary software without any modifications, such thing is not possible as it would lead to security issues. Both applications are Unix processes running in their own sandboxes without any direct communication.

Redirect android screen inside an app

I've developed different personal apps for android and now i'm interested in google cardboard project
So, would be possible to create an application for android to implement the same system of this project : http://www.vrdesktop.net ( windows only ). In few words mirroring the android screen inside another app that will split everything ..
actually i don't know if there are some usefull api/ways to accomplish the job.
EDIT1: i've prepared a draw to better show the idea: https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/15AYvjesIhZDTe5mfOmm5TzhRkyxmDA6L0jI9MzdKbB4/edit
After long researches i've found an open source project that is doing exactly what i was looking for:

Having a problen to develop lockscreen for android

I want to develop an android application that will be an alternative lockscreen.
I searched a lot and i couldn't found an explanation about how to make an app to work like a lockscreen. I understand that there is no official android API for lockscreens, but there must be way, because there are a lot of alternative lockscreens applications in the market.
Does someone know how could i make my app work like a lockscreen? Or if there is a basic code out there of lockscreen app that i can learn from it how to do it?
Thanks a lot (:
The way this is usually accomplished is creating an app that becomes the home application and then when the screen is turned on display your custom lockscreen and hide it when the user successfully unlocks it so they can use the device.
Make sure to take a look at the numerous questions on SO that are very similar to this.
