Android media player won't start

I have created android application to stream online radio stations but when I click start button to play radio it won't start.In service I read ip address of file from url and add it to string.When user selects radio station I add port to string with ip address.Problem starts in mediaPlayer.setOnPreparedListener !!!

prepareAsynch should be called after setOnPreparedListener, otherwise it may happen that prepareAsynch finished working before the listener is assigned.

I have fixed the problem! Radio didn't work because I forgot to add http:// in ip address after reading it from url !!!

Can't pass an int from button if / else case to media player

how are you supposed to let the mediaplayer know what it is supposed to play?

It works fine if I declare the file in the top:

It doesn't work from within a button click if / else statement wherever I try to put it with the following combination:

if your plan is to make the method setEngAu() is the controller as you mentioned in the comment. then you you need to use that method like this

you need to implement onPrepared listener from the media player
I do not know your classes but I assume where you say something like;
wholeTextPlayer = new MediaPlayer();
wholeTextPlayer.setOnPreparedListener(this);
here you start the player after it became prepared

Remember to you will need to call wholeTextPlayer.release() if you do not want the player to hold on that resource anymore( think of it as memory issues - recommended if you check the documentation)

Android back to main activity from MusicService notification

I'm working on a music player for android and i'm stuck at this problem.
By now i can play a song with musicservice and send it to background, i also display a notification with current playing song.
What i need is to re-open the main activity from the song notification and continue playing the song, it actually starts the desired activity but the music service is re-created and it stops the current playing song.

I hope somebody can help me achieve this. I dont know how to maintane the state when re-starting the MainActivity (by the way, im using navdrawer to hold fragments)

Include the currently playing song in your notification intent. Update the intent as the song changes. Include the flag to clear top and the flag to update current in the notification intent. :( sorry IDK if I have the flags right for your situation but you'll have a place to do more research.
In your service where you create the notification intent.

Audio Streaming Seekbar Hides while song is playing

I can't find a way to stop hiding the seekbar. As soon as the song plays the seekbar hides after 2-3 sec. I am really new into this so not really sure how I can approach to this issue. I tried putting mediaController.show() into my methods when the song is playing but no luck. I found this code from a Youtube Channel below is the code:

Playing audio file in android

I got stuck with one requirement i need to play a media file in android.I will post the screen shot of the page
Actual requirement is the user wants to play the audio file in his recordings list.The recordings list are shown through list adapter.I want to display the play progress of the audio file on the same page(as like shown in the screen shot).
