Is this an Android gmail client bug? I created a responsive mailer and only android gmail client renders the table wrongly. All the rest are ok. The code can be seen at this link - PasteBin or JSBin
P.S. I forgot the closing html tag. On my mailer all are properly nested and closed.

Gmail can render emails quite well if you program them properly. Your HTML look fairly well formed. So I don't see that you should have much trouble getting this to render correctly.
A couple notes:
Android Gmail app does not have full support of #media queries. If your email isn't 'responding' properly on Android Gmail that is the reason.
In order to make sure you don't get spacing issues around images your images should always have style="display:block". And if your image is sitting in a table cell make sure you add style=font-size: 1px; line-height: 1px;" on the table cell. This will ensure that email clients don't render and extra spacing above and below images (I usually see this in Outlook, but I've come across it in Gmail too).

^ You should avoid setting font-size to less than 5px because SpamAssassin sees that style as an identifier of spammy content. Gmail mobile's problem is that it has a default line-height of 16px on table cells. Set the line-height lower (but not <5px) on the <td> of whatever content is breaking the layout.

We have a website and we now would like to make a mobile version of it. We would like for it to be as easy as possible, like just build an entirely new HTML and CSS site with some of the content from the original. We would like to build it in its own "m" subdirectory.
Is it as easy as just building the site, sticking it in the subdirectory and redirecting the site to mobile devices? How would I go about doing that, though JAVA (which we would like to stay away from), code in the HEAD or editing the .htaccess file?
This is our first time trying the mobile route, so I am pretty ignorant to the process.
Mobile WAP sites need to be coded in xHTML MP (Mobile profile) markup as this is most friendly for mobile devices CSS need to use ,,em" value for sizes instead of,, pxl" because it's not good to use absolute values in CSS for mobile site .You can use auto index page to recognize type of browsers or OS and to redirect on WEB or WAP version of your site

It seems that homepage http://nosy-x.com is perfect working by display
with firefox and chrome - but only in desktop computers.
Display is not correct in internet explorer and not in Android-Versions of firefox and of chrome. Apparently this is not directly to do with my code, it looks as if code of Android-Browssers with display in firefox and in chrome is different than those for desktop computers(concerning display of homepages).
Can I add for chrome and firefox in Android a general code for correct display ?
How would this look ?!
At present the relationship between browser and graphical file (pixels) is not correct somehow? All browsers have different output in their display concerning outfit of website with its pixels ...
thx.
I'm not really sure what your question is, but to make a website responsive and make it display the way you want on different screens css media queries is a good place to start. Take a look here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_mediatypes.asp

I'm about to release a mobile phone app (starting with WP7, then porting to Android, potentially to iPhone), and being a one man shop with no design skills, I was looking for free icons that are available on the web.
I came across a couple of really good ones that are licensed under "Creative Commons (Attribution 3.0 Unported)". I'm not sure how to attribute an icon... Do I do it simply in the source code of my app? Or do I need to have an "About" page on the app itself that lists the attribution?
Thanks!
It seems like the important part of the license is the attribution:
Attribution — You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
And the last bit:
Notice — For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work. The best way to do this is with a link to this web page.
I would have an about page on the app that includes attribution as specified by the icon creator and a link to the license.

I just published my first application to the android marketplace. However, when I search, I have to enter the exact name in order for it to come up. Is there a way to enter app tags?
In the market app, my app doesn't even show any 'related' apps either.
How can I make my App more readily viewable?
Thanks
Adding a tags section to your description is helpful and will get your app to show under more search phrases. The catch is, there is more to Google's algorithm that generates hits for your app. Here are some caveats that I've noticed after doing some simple research:
The title of the app gets a higher priority than the description. So a tag in the description called "free wallpaper" isn't going to generate a higher return match than an app named "free wallpaper" unless other factors contribute and make it higher.
The number of app downloads generate a higher percentage.
I'm sure there are others but these were the main two contributors I could deduce from my research.
I added a "TAGS:" section to the bottom of the description. In it I just list single terms separated by commas.

What are some of the best ways to get your Android application noticed after it leaves the 'Just In' section? [closed]

So I've recently released an application on to the Android Market. Whilst it was in the "Just In" section I was seeing decent download numbers, but since then interest seems to have dropped off significantly. I think now people can only find my app through a specific keyword search, which doesn't make me particularly confident about it ever becoming popular.
What can you do when your app has passed the 'Just In' stage but has not reached the 'Featured' stage? The majority of applications seem to be in this middle stage so I think other people must have a similar problem. It seems like the 'Featured' section just makes the popular apps more popular, and makes it really difficult for newer apps to ever catch up with them. Does anyone know if the situation with the Apple App Store is any different?
It seems to be possible to refresh your app and make it appear in the 'Just In' section again if you update it sometime after, but I can't find any real guidelines on this. Is anyone familiar with the specific rules for this, and is repeatedly riding the 'Just In' buzz the only viable strategy for a new app?
I remember reading that updating the app will bring it back to the top of that list... I googled it a bit and found this blogger that recommends spacing out your updates to make it to the "just in" list. The writer points to another blogger that had a similar experience. Hope it helps.
There is no longer a "Just In" section so this answer is out-of-date.
There is now no way to get noticed if you don't do advertising. Your app will remain at the bottom of the list with zero downloads and no ratings forever unless you do marketing, get reviews, etc.
Even having a demo won't help because no-one will ever see it since it will be 50-60 pages ahead.
