Taking picture with Camera Intent never get back to onActivityResult() - android

I have an activity which is called from a TabActivity (I know it's deprecated) as:
intent2 = new Intent().setClass(this, sin2.class);
spec = tabHost.newTabSpec("second").setIndicator("Second").setContent(intent2);
tabHost.addTab(spec);
which is an activity that takes pictures, save them and set a thumbnail. It works perfectly on a lot of devices but on Samsung Galaxy Pocket or Galaxy Wonder (always Android 2.x) sometimes when I start the Camera Intent, it never gets back to onActivityResult(), that means:
I take a picture
I save it
I doesn't get back to onActivityResult()
It allows me to take another picture
and looping... I never get back, if I press finish(), I come back to my current activity.
I've read on StackOverflow about doing stuff like getParent().startActivityForResult(Intent,RequestCode); but doesn't work.

the function sacarfoto() gives a String but sometimes works for doing a process, but it doesn't matter in this error.

I'm pretty sure that you think that it's never returned, but in fact it's returning a RESULT_CANCEL. Try to add if(result == RESULT_CANCEL) in your onActivityResult. Maybe it was impossible for the camera to save the picture or something like that.

Fetching Captured Image sent through Intent

I'm working on a simple project, where I'm suppose to create an application for taking notes. I've sucessfully created the app but now I want to make it possible for the user to take a photo and save it with the note.
I can take the picture, preview it, and then click save.
But the problem is that I'm not able to get the image sent through the intent to my MainActivity class, where the note is suppose to be saved.
So my question is how do I save the note with the picture, please look at the picture that represents how I want my customRow to look like
I have no idea why this happends beacuse I get no errors... And its been driving me nuts.
Any ideas??

When you do:

You are basically asking to create a new instance of MainActivity. To return to the previous activity while setting the result do this instead:
setResult(RESULT_OK, i);
finish();//finishing activity

Android file.canRead() = false when choosing image but not when TAKING photo

I have 2 buttons on an "upload image" page for users to upload an image to a web service. One is for selecting an image that is on your device, the other for taking a photo with your camera.

btnTakePhoto works fine when it loads an ImageView with the result when I TAKE a photo, but when I CHOOSE a photo using the other button the imageView is blank...

I noticed that when I hit this line of code:
if (file.canRead()) {
return file;
}
file.canRead() is TRUE when I take a picture, but FALSE when I CHOOSE a picture. When I step through and look at the value of the "uri" variable, here they are:
file:///storage/emulated/0/Pictures/IMG_20150916_141518.jpg - this works
file:///storage/emulated/0/Pictures/IMG_20150916_141854.jpg - this doesn't work
any idea what's going on here?
UPDATE: tried using the InputStream approach from ContentResolver, but the bitmap still can't be displayed:

What made it work is the MediaStore.Images.Media.getBitmap(this.getContentResolver(), Uri.parse(mCurrentPhotoPath)), which is different from the code from developer.android.com. The original code gave me a FileNotFoundException.
I found a pretty simple way to do this. Use a button to open it using an on click listener to start the function openc(), like this:

Setting ImageView after Crop not working

I've created a basic activity with an imageView and two buttons. 1 Button opens the gallery, the other opens the camera. Both of which pass the result into a image cropping library. The cropped image is saved and shown in the imageView.
The first I do this with either button, everything works smoothly. However on the second attempt the imageView does not get replaced but the image that has been saved has changed.
So basically the imageView doesn't change to the new image if it already has the first result.

If you read setImageURI:

Basically, setImageURI only works if the Uri of the image isn't equal to the Uri you want to currently set. Your button doesn't work second time because Crop.getOutput(result) returns the same Uri everytime you press the button, so setImageURI does nothing.
To solve this, you can add displayPicture.setImageURI(null); before displayPicture.setImageURI(Crop.getOutput(result));.

Android camera intent

I need to push an intent to default camera application to make it take a photo, save it and return an URI. Is there any way to do this?

What made it work is the MediaStore.Images.Media.getBitmap(this.getContentResolver(), Uri.parse(mCurrentPhotoPath)), which is different from the code from developer.android.com. The original code gave me a FileNotFoundException.
I found a pretty simple way to do this. Use a button to open it using an on click listener to start the function openc(), like this:
