Drawer layouts are typically pulled from the action bar, at least per the official docs. Is there a way to have a pull ImageView attached to the bottom of the drawer? So that the user would tap or pull the ImageView to draw out the navigation drawer? I am referring to the docs at http://developer.android.com/training/implementing-navigation/nav-drawer.html#ActionBarIcon
On newer devices you could try to rotate the view. But I don't know if this will work. See this answer Android:How to rotate LinearLayout

I wanted to know how to use Bottom Nav View and AppBarLayout as an overlay and animate them (hide/show together on touch) just like apps like Camscanner do when viewing image? I want this behavior so that the canvas beneath it can use fullscreen.
Update
Note: This screenshot is from Gallery Go app by Google, it also hides the ActionBar and BottomNavBar.
Update 2
I used the UiAutomatorViewer to check the app's UI and found that it actually uses a LinearLayout with ImageViews for the AppBar and TextViews for the Bottom Nav View.

I implemented Bottom Navigation View came out with Android Support Library v25.0.0.
https://github.com/vipulasri/Bottom-Navigation-View-Sample
I am facing following problems:
Floating Action Button overlaps with Bottom Navigation View.
Snackbar displays above Bottom Navigation View.
Bottom Navigation Button doesn't automatically hide or appear on scrolling.
Not able to get the reveal animation like below:
About your third and fourth question. Bottom navigation view is automatically hide title and make animation if you have more then 3 item in it.
And about you first and second question. You can try another root layout, for example CoordinatorLayout.
Maybe it's late, but I made a little project to make reveal animation on background like your example without third part library.
Check it here: https://github.com/GauvainSeigneur/CircularRevealBottomNavigationView
My android app UI have two parts- a menu bar (blue color) and content area (gray color).
Here red is the device screen.
The menu bar should open from left to right whene the hamburger menu is clicked.
I tried with ViewSwitcher but that shows only one view at a time.
What is the right method to implement it?
UPDATE: I am looking for the solution for API level 10 onwards.
In the newest version of the ADT you can select Navigation Drawer as navigation type when you create a new Activity. This automatically implements this type of navigation for you.
Alternatively, check out this tutorial: http://developer.android.com/training/implementing-navigation/nav-drawer.html
If you are happy with the navigation bar overlaying the content, then use the navigation drawer as suggested.

There are many open source libraries that you can pick and test, and then decide which one to grab the code for.
I'm experimenting for the first time with Android's Navigation Drawer. I think it is a very elegant way to provide an application menu. However, showing my prototype to some friends, it seems that it is not quit intuitive to search for a menu i) on the top left corner respectively ii) on the left side of the screen.
To provide a "user hint" for case i), I added a custom image by creating an ActionBarDrawerToggle. This results in following design of the title bar (the little arrow is the cutom image, while the red star is the application icon):
Now while developping, I thought this is quite obvious, but apparantly I'm wrong :). So as a second idea, to support a user to find option ii) described below, I tried to figure out how to add a further image at a specific place, which I want to explain with following image:
Don't look at the design itself in the first place, but following: the image must be placed outside of the "view bounds" (when the navigation menu is hidden), and also exceed the navigation panel itself on the right side (always). Is this in any way possible without customize the entire navigation panel? I really wonder why I can't find much about this idea, since I think it is a very nice option to provide for the user (as long as the arrow don't disturbs the application usage)
Although I haven't actually tested it with Android's Navigation Drawer,
did you try putting an imageview in your activity's layout? The image would be placed in the middle vertically and on parent left horizontally. I believe this would work (i.e. the image will get pushed when you open the drawer. As an improvement you could also change the image itself in the drawer's callbacks, so that you have an arrow pointing right when the drawer is closed and an arrow pointing left when the drawer is open.
Hope it helps.
i am learning actionbar and created an actionbar with tabs .the following image shows the view
!
requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_ACTION_MODE_OVERLAY);
ActionBar ab=getActionBar();
ab.setNavigationMode(ActionBar.NAVIGATION_MODE_TABS);
ab.setBackgroundDrawable(new ColorDrawable(Color.MAGENTA));
ab.addTab(ab.newTab().setText("Popular").setTabListener(this));
ab.addTab(ab.newTab().setText("Latest").setTabListener(this));
ab.addTab(ab.newTab().setText("Nearby").setTabListener(this));
They following are my queries :
the tabs have shifted to a bar below the magenta color bar. is it due to space constraints of mobile.if a wish to add any item to this magenta bar with the tabs below how can add to it and then show the same pattern whether it is mobile or tablet.
i want to make this tabs bar transparent so that i can see the text move behind it.i have tried to set its drawable as per code above but it has only changed of top bar but not the tabs bar.
what is way to have a button on the magenta bar onclicking i have this screen shift to left and show another screen which has some links show up in a way that partly this current screen is also visible.i hope i am able to explain my point.
kindly clarify
Question 1: It's down to device space constraints. The first paragraph in the Android documentation for tabs in the action bar show that if there isn't room it will split the tabs to a separate bar.
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/actionbar.html#Tabs
Question 2: You need to set the drawable for the background and the stacked background of the action bar to your transparent drawable. (Edit: Links in Ye Lin Aung's comment show how to do that).
Question 3: It sounds like you are looking for a navigation drawer layout arrangement to me. The best place to start on this would be this link:
http://developer.android.com/training/implementing-navigation/nav-drawer.html
Edit: The pattern will work the same for both mobile and tablets (though you may want to have an xml for smaller screens that have a slightly thinner drawer sizes).
The android documentation in the link above states that the drawer width should be set in dp units and that the drawer height matches the parent view. The drawer width should be no more than 320dp so the user can always see a portion of the main content. This should allow most phones to view it in both portrait and landscape and still see some content.
