Contact fetching takes too much time

In my code the contact fetching takes too much time to fetch the contacts and show in the application.
Please guide me where i am wrong and what should i correct in order to make execution time fast.

and more over in my code my contact fetching while loop is looping 3 times i dont know why.

Try this, using AsyncTask. Use it while launching apps default activity on background and fetch the array while using on another activity

Getting null value while retrieving the CONTACT NAME from CONTACT EMAIL

I want to retrieve the contact name from the contact email, so what I have done is as follows from https://stackoverflow.com/a/18064869/5738881.

So, tell me where I am going wrong..

You should replace

Always check getCount before use it.

Also check whether you have declared permission to read contact in manifest:
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_CONTACTS" />
You'll need a few other related permissions as well, look at the documentation for content to see which.

Retrieve contact image on Android

I am currently working on an Android project where I am attempting to lookup a contact phone number in the device and retrieve the contact information such as contact name and contacts image. Getting the contract name is working fine, however, a null pointer is being thrown when trying to get the photo uri.

It's failing on the if statement and jumping out of the if straight to return null as if there is nothing in the cursor.

Hello I am new on android development and I am struggling badly with coding...I have to get full contact list of my device in to dynamic growing checkbox name which can be selectable
....
It must be selected already and also which will grow dynamically
I have tried a lot of things already but dont find any answers...and I have to get the selected contacted from it on button press

ohk u can take contactID from this cursor or your code now this is my method which will give u contact photo just pass contact ID in it

Fetch Local phonebook contacts From SIM card only android

I want to know if its possible to fetch contacts which exist in SIM card or phonebook only. Right now I am using the following code to fetch contacts and it fetches all the contacts even my gmail and Facebook Contacts.
