Sorry to tell you that geny motion cant run without graphic memory and opengl.
I think you doesn't have graphic card or opengl so it will not work till you doesn't have these things
:)
try to download the lower android version loke sony xperia s
or any other mobile of android 2.3 version

If it is possible update your graphics driver. You are using a default driver that Windows installs for you.
Or you can use Geny Motion, a lightweight Android virtual device.
So I have Android Studios in a virtual box running mint. Do I need to install virtualbox to run genymotion in the original virtualbox or is there a work around? As of right now when I install genymotion it tells me it couldn't find the path of the virtualbox, which makes sense since it is in the virtualbox. Anyone else try and succeed at doing this?
Thanks
Ofcourse it needs another virtual box. Think of it as you are running mint in a virtual box container, now to run the gennymotion emulators you need to install the virtual box, but this is very tideous are bad idea, it is recomended that you do a full OS install.
Your performance of the machine will be sluggish since you are trying to run a OS indside an OS(The resoruces wil be lesser to be used vs a fully installed OS)
You can use Oracle VM VirtualBox
I've got Genymotion installed on VMWware. When I try to run up a virtual device, I get the message:
Unable to start the Genymotion virtual device. Check if your video card support OpenGL. If no, then Genymotion virtual device can not start. If yes, maybe you should update your video card drivers.
Detailed information: Failed to initialize backend EGL display (error: 4).
I've searched for this and suggestions have included:
Try using Genymotion (already doing that!)
Update your video card drivers (I've already got the latest drivers)
The following post: Unable to start the Genymotion virtual device, but the video card is not recognised and no drivers are available.
I'm beginning to wonder if you can run Genymotion within a VM. Has anyone had this issue and, if so, how did you resolve it?
Genymotion is a VM hosting solution, so it's not surprising that you cant run it within a VM!
From the Genymotion FAQ
Genymotion doesn't start from a virtual machine
Genymotion can't be run from a virtual machine.
Indeed, Genymotion needs a direct access to the hardware in order to
provide OpenGL acceleration.
Running Genymotion from a virtual machine prevents it to directly
access the hardware components.
So Genymotion is incompatible when installed from within VMWare,
Parallels, Hyper-V, VirtualPC.
I have a problem running Genymotion "inside" VMWare that is running on Windows 7 32-bit. It gives me an error "Unable to initialize OpenGL renderer library.". At first, I didn't notice the version of the OpenGL of my guest (Windows 7 32-bit) is 1.1 or 1.4 (I can't remember) then I read some solutions online on how to update the driver to 2.1 but still, Genymotion is giving me the same error. I tried to uninstall Genymotion and reinstalling it again but unfortunately, the problem is still there.
I also read on a blog that the user was able to run Genymotion on VMWare with Windows XP I also tried that too but it didn't worked for me. Then I installed it on the host (I am running Windows 8 with OpenGL 4.x) and it worked.
Here's the result of the test I did with glewinfo.exe to see the version of OpenGL my guest is running: http://pastebin.com/ncZv58DV

Is there any possible way to install Android Emulator itself on the windows. I would need that for the Testing purpose? Any Idea?
Please Note: I dont want to install whole sdk. i just want install the Emulater itself. that emulator is just like that a phone for the testing purpose.
Thanks in Advance
You cannot download the emulator separately from the SDK, for any platform, for any version of Android.
Modern update (mid-year 2013):
You can install Android inside a VirtualBox instance on your PC (Linux, Mac, Windows)
Steps:
Download VirtualBox
Download the free & open source Android OS ISO image.
Install VirtualBox
Create new virtual machine with RAM, Hard Drive, etc.
Choose the Android ISO for CD-ROM drive
Start the virtual machine and follow on-screen instructions to install the OS.

Actually there is an option for a standalone Android Simulator, here it is:

Hope this helps!
There is also a program called Jar of Beans created by a member of the XDA forum.

Its basically a Android Jelly Bean,
Hope it helps! its about 200MB in size.
I think this question needs an update :) Here is an answer from 10/2018.
Bluestacks

Genymotion

Droid4X
Nox
Windroy
AMIDuOS
Xamarin Android Player
Remix OS Player
Well the android SDK contains an emulator and you can install it on Windows.
I don't think you can run an emulator without its supporting avd and kernal. If you want to check you can try pasting the emultor.exe somewhere in your drive create a AVD and see if you are able to start the emulator from the command prompt.
Try Windroy, which is a free full port of Android to Windows.
