I have Android 2.3.4 version installed on my device ( Samsung Galaxy mini GT-S5570) .
Can I upgrade the version of Android to be Android4.2.
You need to flash a new ROM. Check the xdadevelopers forums to search for a ROM for your device. And also check CyanogenMOD Device's page. There you will find instructions of how to flash the ROM.
Warning: By flashing a ROM you will be voiding your warenty. Your first option would be to check if Samsung has released an Android update for your device.

I want to port miui using aosp as base rom . I searched on the web but didn't find any aosp rom for my device.I owns a Moto g turbo(merlin). So will I have to make it from scratch from the instructions provided on aosp site.
as far as I could search quickly, I found there's Lineage OS Port for merlin. You could use that as base for porting MIUI without porting or building AOSP.
Here's the device tree of it
First try to find a similar device to turbo having MIUI port. If you could find that, it would be easier to port from that device relatively.

I've installed CyanogenMod on my Samsung Galaxy S3 about a month ago using the CyanogenMod Installer, it is using Android 4.4.2 now...
My question is: when the CM with 4.4.4 is made available on http://download.cyanogenmod.org what should I do to get this update? in other words:
Should I expect to receive a system notification like a 'system update via OTA'?
Or
Will I need to use the 'CyanogenMod Installer' and do it all over again, including a letting the device being factory reset?
Confirming...Cyanogenmod OTA updates work, see the screenshot.

How Can I update the Nexus7 to Android Kitkat? I know that there in no official google Version , but is there a way I can update thru Eclipse?
The Nexus 7 is a stock Android device, or a Google Play device. This means that it will be getting the Android KitKat (4.4) update in the coming days. You are much better off waiting for the update from Google than installing a ROM on your phone, as it may contain hidden viruses. As #damryfbfnetsi said, this question should belong on android.stackexchange.com.
First you have to unlock your device. Its easy with this utility: http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
After that you have to download custom ROM. It depends if you have
classic (non 3g) Nexus 7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/orig-development
3g version Nexus 7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/3g-development
Look for ROM with 4.4 Kitkat in thread name. I also advise to read comments in forum thread before you download it.
Again to flash custom ROM use wugfresh utility.

While searching for Android ADK supported devices, I came across developers expressing the concern that although their device (smartphone or tablet) runs either Android 2.3.4 or 3.1, however, the ADK does not work.
So I would like to know the list of devices which support Android ADK.
I request the readers to add to the devices which they found works fine with Android ADK.
Note: I have seen another question which is meant only for Android ADK tablets, where as my question is about generic devices.
Let me start with a link which I found lists few Android ADK supported devices:

I want to unlock (s-off) my HTC Desire HD. After reading some tutorials I learned that I should downgrade temporarily my rom to 1.32. But there is a catch, you must have rom 1.72 or higher.
On my phone I have Android 2.3.2 with CyanogenMod7 I bought the phone second-hand and that's why I have no idea what version was flashed.
Compilation number is: GRH78C
I'm not quite sure what this 'rom version' means and how to check what varsion I have. I suppose it's not the same as Android version because I can't see anything like 1.32 or 1.72 on Wikipedia's list of versions.
Can you help me?
if you have 2.3.x then it is gingerbread. Higher version than 1.72 (froyo).
However, if you have a custom rom your phone might be already rooted.
