Clear all stack when notification is clicked

I'm showing a notification using FCM on my android app. Everything is working as expected except one issue.
When user clicks on the notification, I need to close all background and foreground activities of my app and open the intent specified in the notification.
How can I do it?
I'm using pending intent like this
intent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP | Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_SINGLE_TOP);

YOu can use 2 flags to clear all stacks
intentToLaunch.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TASK);
intentToLaunch.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK);

how to start Phonegap Android application from notification bar

I have a Android app with Google Cloud Message and Phonegap. Send, receive are done.
I try to launch my app from notification bar. But have problem:
This isn't the root activity. Clearing it and returning to the root activity.
How to fix it?
PendingIntent when create notification:

Force main activity load

When i click to notification, it run Intent PushHandlerActivity, and PushHandlerActivity force main activity load. When the main activity load it say "This isn't the root activity. Clearing it and returning to the root activity." in LogCat, and my app can't show up :(

Please look for my code. It works absolutely fine for me

Did you try to change:
Intent launchIntent = pm.getLaunchIntentForPackage(getApplicationContext().getPackageName());
With
Intent launchIntent = pm.getLaunchIntentForPackage(<PackageNameOfYourMainActivity>);
Than it will start your PhoneGap main activity.
I didn't try this, it's just looks logical to me.

Launch App from Notification with data

I'm trying to use C2DM to trigger a push notification on my android phone, and have the user click the notification and launch a certain activity in the app. How can I pass this information along?
Currently I'm doing the following:

I'm trying to store state by calling putExtra on the notificationIntent, but the new activity always has a null savedInstanceState Bundle. How can I pass information along?

the extras you set in the intent have to be retrieved by the getIntent().getExtras() the savedInsanceState is more about retrieve the state when the application have been closed by the system and you want to recover the same state that user saw last time.

How to write a notification that does absolutly nothing when clicked?

Ive seen many examples of how to make something happen when the user clicks on a notification but I actually don't want anything to happen. If the user clicks on the notification I want the notification to simply dissapear and the user NOT taken anywhere.
In my code below, while FLAG_AUTO_CANCEL clears the notification from the status bar, when the user clicks on a my notification they are taken to "MyActivity".
How can I create a notification that does nothing?

Changing
Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(this, MyActivity.class);
to
Intent notificationIntent = new Intent();
would do the job. The gist is if you want nothing, give it a blank intent.

How can I cancel a notification when the user clicks on it?

I would like to create a notification that clears automatically when the user presses it and has no other behaviuour. The notification below works fine but when i press on it it takes me to the activity "MyActivity" (even having to define an intent seems a bit unecessary when I don't want to use it...)
Using FLAG_AUTO_CANCEL doesn't seem to have any effect at all.
Update: Sorry, I have found the FLAG_AUTO CANCEL does work, that is the notification is cleared from the status bar. I guess I am really tring to write an intent that does nothing (or completely delete the intent).

Use an empty intent without an actual action.
PendingIntent pi = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, new Intent(), 0);

I don't think you can. You can have MyActivity exit immediately though: call finish() from onCreate().
