I am installing new softwares, using this link : https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
but always getting: The operation cannot be completed. see the details.
Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: Android DDMS 23.0.2.1259578 (com.android.ide.eclipse.ddms.feature.feature.group 23.0.2.1259578)

This is a packaging bug. The entire proguard file is missing. We'll have an update asap, but until then just copy it over from a previous version of the tools:
http://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r22.6.2-linux.tgz
http://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r22.6.2-windows.zip
http://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r22.6.2-macosx.zip
and copy over the following files:
tools/hprof-conv
tools/support/annotations.jar
tools/proguard
So at the end if you started from a new ADT copy by hand the files :)
Edit: with the latest ADT release, the bundle should now work with auto-update, so install these new versions:
linux 64 bit vm: http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-linux-x86_64-20140702.zip
linux 32 bit vm: http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-linux-x86-20140702.zip
mac: http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20140702.zip
win32: http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-windows-x86-20140702.zip
win64: http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140702.zip
Don't try to upgrade from previous version because it doensn't work at all. If you have got problems with zipalign, it's now under platform-tools and no more under tools/ so you can do a symbolic link or just copy it into the expected folder.

Here is the error message I am getting when I start eclipse after updating through Android SDK Manager.
This Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 23.0.0 or
above.
Current version is 22.6.2.v201403212031
Please update ADT to the latest version
The problem is when I click update or go to help to find latest update, there is no update available. So okay, I did some research and found this link Can't update Eclipse ADT to 22. So then I tried to install the ADT anew. Now I am getting the following issue:

Help-->Install New Software-->What is already installed?
Then, Select "Android DDMS, Andoid Devlopment Tools,Android Hierarcy Viewer, Android native Development Tools, Android Traceview, Tracer for OpenGL ES" and click Uninstall.
After all this step, try Add link (https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/) and name is ADT Plugin. This link will get the latest ADT Plugin. In this way you reinstall the ADT.
i have just recently updated my sdk and when i tried to open eclipse it gives me an error that adt is outdated and needs to update. i have searched for solutions here but nothing seems to fix mine. one solution was to manually download the update on eclipse->help->install new software and entered the url: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ , after that i checked ADT version 23.0.4.1468518 for installation. but this solution doesnt work on mine. im having an error saying im having a conflicting dependency.

I've got these problems many times on my attempt to update adt.
Nothing worked for me, like "uninstall and reinstall adt plugin", "manual install" etc..
I had to download the latest adt bundle from developer.android.com and that seems to be the easiest way to get latest adt.
The adt plugin update worked fine on one of my development machines. But had to download fresh adt on another.
So I suggest you to download latest adt bundle if you are not getting it right on a few tries. At least that would save you some valuable time.
After downloading latest adt bundle, unzip it and just replace the eclipse folder in your current setup. This will keep all your already installed sdk components.
Help --> Install New Software--> click what is already installed? uninstall ADT plugin
Help --> Install New Software -->add url --> http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/

ADT 22.0.4 is designed for use with SDK Tools r22.0.4. If you haven't already installed SDK Tools r22.0.4 into your SDK, use the Android SDK Manager to do so
What I had to do was update my ADT to 22.0.4 (Latest Version) and then I was able to update SDK tool to 22.0.4. I thought only SDK Tool has been updated not ADT, so I was updating the SDK Tool with Older ADT Version (22.0.1).
How to Update your ADT to Latest Version
In Eclipse go to Help
Install New Software ---> Add
inside Add Repository write the Name: ADT (or whatever you want)
Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
after loading you should get Developer Tools and NDK Plugins
check both if you want to use the Native Developer Kit (NDK) in the future or check
Developer Tool only
click Next
Finish
I have just downloaded eclipse juno and when I create an activity, it isn't showing up in my project. I have tried installing http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ as others have suggested but it comes up with this error:

"Android Traceview" is already installed, so an update will be performed instead.

This is a bug with the latest bundle provided by Google. See http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=72912.
There is no way to update an existing ADT bundle that you might have downloaded.
You can do one of two options:
Install eclipse from eclipse.org and install ADT by pointing to the update site: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse
Download bundles from here:
linux 64 bit vm:
http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-linux-x86_64-20140702.zip
linux 32 bit vm:
http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-linux-x86-20140702.zip
mac:
http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20140702.zip
win32:
http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-windows-x86-20140702.zip
win64:
http://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140702.zip
Starting with ADT bundle 23.0.2, you should be able to update to future versions of ADT.
I was facing the same problem, was able to solve in this way -
Eclipse-->Help-->About Eclipse---->Installation Details
Select - Android DDMS, ADT, Android Hierarchy Viewer, Android Native Development Tools, Android TraceView and Tracer for OpenGL ES packages. All must be version 22.xx
Uninstall all the plugins selected above.
Restart Eclipse
Install ADT from update site - https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/

I updated my SDK with latest release of Android L and restarted my eclipse i.e running on ADT V.22. But when I Check for update from
Hep -> Check for updates, it says No updates were found.
I manually tried to download ADT bundle from official website and tried to install ADT-23.0.0.zip from Help -> Install New Software and described installation guide over site, but it gave me error

And it also giving me error while I compile my exiting project that were running perfectly before update. Error is:

I tired various solution provided earlier for killing adb server and restarting again using adb kill-server command.
Can anyone resolve or guide me how to build and compile my existing projects with this new SDK update in eclipse.
I had the same problem and just solved it. what I did is uninstall entirely the android plugin from eclipse (from the "about" section..) including trace view..
Do not restart eclipse at this point!
then added again the ADT Plugin (https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/)
the problem solved!
I guess it's a bug with the SDK manager or ADT Plugin update mechanism..
It saves my day...!
If for some reason you installed an ADT preview and need to revert back to the current stable, you can't use the dialog to install "new" software since what you want is actually an older one. Instead do this:
Open Help > About Eclipse... on Windows or Linux. On Mac, use the
app's menu > About...
Click the "Installation Details" button.
Select the "Installation History" tab.
Select one of the previous configurations.
Click the "Revert" button at the bottom.
I am depending on this article
How to install plugin for Eclipse from .zip
and I made it sorta work. still needs some fix from me. I'll update soon.
This is based on the idea of opening the ADT plugin zip file and copy it's contents by hand , an old fashioned copy-paste method. I still could not yet make it well configured, but the tools do work.
Don't forget to uninstall older ADT before doing this.
I had the same problem, finally I had to download a new ADT from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html is faster than trying to fight vs dependencies or adt versions.
I want to install Android SDK on Eclipse Classic Indigo (Version: 3.7.1 Build id: M20110909-1335) Windows 7 32 bit.
On adding ADT plugin to in software update I got following some dependency error.
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could
not be found. Software being installed: Android Development Tools
16.0.1.v201112150204-238534 (com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.feature.group 16.0.1.v201112150204-238534)
I consulted some blogs and found that I have to update my Eclipse. Following two sources are there in Eclipse.
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/3.7
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo
But their download is also broken. They try to dowload content.jar file which is not there.
Any hand how to solve this problem? Or I should use some other version of Eclipse?
Thanks
I was running a proxy program (UltraSurf). I closed the application and re-tried and that solves my installation problem.
