I'm having the same problem as the BBC iPlayer app for Android where our Android app is not available for download in the Isle of Man, from the Google Play store.
As IoM is part of the UK, it should be available already as the UK is a selected territory.
Does anyone know of a workaround apart from our users travelling to the UK and downloading it?

I wonder to know, when downloading an application using google play store mobile app, does the downloaded data is encrypted or not?
If it does, since when?
App Encryption
Starting with Android 4.1, Google Play will help protect application
assets by encrypting all paid apps with a device-specific key before
they are delivered and stored on a device.

This is all I can see. I'm running Android 4.2.1. Is something I'm missing?
Is something I'm missing?
Yes. You are missing a lot of developer options. :-)
You would have to take this up with the device manufacturer. There is no general reason why you would have access to only a subset of developer options.

The stock web browser on Android doesn't have any kind of "about" screen or information. What company develops it? Is it Google? Is it open-source? If so, is the source part of the Android OS source?
It primarily developed by Google. Also, it is open source.

How can we develop a google glass application using an android sdk? Is it possible to show a map in google glass?
Since you are just starting out with Google Glass, you may want to look at the starting examples and information in https://developers.google.com/glass/gdk . You are able to present a map for a location by calling the Google Map URL with appropriate parameters.
