I am new to Android. I installed android version 22.3 and tried to add Google Play services , that need to update it to 23.0 . But it did not allow to complete.
So I installed ADT bundle with SDK rev 23.0.2 now it take long time to load , and some emulators are not loading , they encounter a problem while loading. Also it take 20 min or so to load. I am using eclipse.
1.Is that a problem of sdk rev-23.0.2 ?
2.What is the best version of SDK to use?
okay, try to download from sdk Manager the GingerBread and KitKat APIs
And try this emulator : Genymotion a lot of people used to have troubles running the standard emulator but when switching to GenyMotion life became easier

I'm attempting to download Android Studio on Debian (version 8.4 "jessie") but the download does not even start. I'm using this page:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
All that happens is that I get a popup that appears for about 1-2 seconds that states:
"Now downloading the Android SDK Tools!
Because you've chosen to download only the Android SDK tools (and not Android Studio), there are no setup procedures to follow. For information about how to keep your SDK tools up to date, refer to the SDK Manager guide."
That's all I get... nothing gets downloaded.

I have downloaded the Eclipse with Android environment and have created an emulator with the following settings:
However, when I run the Android emulator (with all the combinations I am can), the Android device never gets past the following screen:
I have tried the solution mentioned here with no luck. After extensive Googling I cannot find a solution. Is it the case that, due to my hardware, I am unable to emulate? I have an AMD processor with a NVidia GPU.. but I cannot imagine everyone else with similar hardware is unable to emulate Android devices.
the first picture actually told the reason,"this AVD may not work unless you install the Google APIs ARM(armeabi-v7a)system image for Android 5.0(API 21) first", have you installed the Google APIs ARM(armeabi-v7a)system image for Android 5.0(API 21)?

How Can I update the Nexus7 to Android Kitkat? I know that there in no official google Version , but is there a way I can update thru Eclipse?
The Nexus 7 is a stock Android device, or a Google Play device. This means that it will be getting the Android KitKat (4.4) update in the coming days. You are much better off waiting for the update from Google than installing a ROM on your phone, as it may contain hidden viruses. As #damryfbfnetsi said, this question should belong on android.stackexchange.com.
First you have to unlock your device. Its easy with this utility: http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
After that you have to download custom ROM. It depends if you have
classic (non 3g) Nexus 7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/orig-development
3g version Nexus 7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/3g-development
Look for ROM with 4.4 Kitkat in thread name. I also advise to read comments in forum thread before you download it.
Again to flash custom ROM use wugfresh utility.
