No resource identifier found for attribute 'indicator_gravity' in package

I was trying to porting the Tree-View-List-Android into my project recently. I have created a project called com.dotnetideas.treeview and added everything in. I can run the demo without any issue. But when I use it in another project, I kept getting “No resource identifier found for attribute 'indicator_gravity' in package com.dotnetideas.treeview” in main_demo.xml.
Here is the xml looks like.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:treeView="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.dotnetideas.treeview"
android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent">
<ListView android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_height="0dip" android:scrollbars="vertical"
android:visibility="gone"> <!-- Just to test some attributes in IDE -->
</ListView>
<pl.polidea.treeview.TreeViewList android:id="#+id/mainTreeView" android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent" treeView:indicator_gravity="right|center_vertical"
android:scrollbars="vertical" android:smoothScrollbar="true"/>
Although I followed the old code to changed the xml namespace from
xmlns:treeView=http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/pl.polidea.treeview
to
xmlns:treeView=http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.dotnetideas.treeview.
It doesn’t seem like valid xml namespace.
It turned out that the namespace needs to be
xmlns:treeView="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
if we reference as a library project.
This answer from stackoverflow too didnt help.

Suspicious namespace: should start with http://

Problem Appeared : When i have open my XML file and changing the layout_height attribut.
Problem description : Suspicious namespace: should start with http://
Line problem* :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<FrameLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:pj="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.example"
xmlns:bm="com.example" <!-- problem line -->
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:layout_gravity="center"
android:background="#drawable/basic"
android:orientation="vertical" >
If you need a custom namespace, use the Android auto-namespace feature.
In your example:
<FrameLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:custom="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto" />
Clean your project and if the problem persist restart your IDE

Understanding XML attributes for custom packages

I'm trying to use the drag/drop functionality from this fine project: https://github.com/bauerca/drag-sort-listview/
First, I've added the library using the instructions on GitHub.
Second, I'm trying to use the XML declaration. This is my main.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:dslv="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.mobeta.android.dslv"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:orientation="vertical" >
<include layout="#layout/header"/>
<com.mobeta.android.dslv.DragSortListView
android:id="#+id/list"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:divider="#D9D9D9"
android:dividerHeight="2dp"
android:listSelector="#drawable/list_selector"
dslv:drag_enabled="true"
dslv:drag_scroll_start="0.33"
dslv:drag_start_mode="onDown"/>
</LinearLayout>
But, Eclipse is throwing this error: No resource identifier found for attribute 'drag_enabled' in package 'com.mobeta.android.dslv'; similarly for 'drag_scroll_start' and 'drag_start_mode'.
I'd like to understand on a more general level what I'm doing wrong here. And if anyone can give me specific help for using this library, I'd appreciate that as well.
Since you are refering the attributes fro your library instead of giving the full path of the library give "res-auto"
please see the change
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:dslv="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:orientation="vertical" >
<include layout="#layout/header"/>
<com.mobeta.android.dslv.DragSortListView
android:id="#+id/list"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:divider="#D9D9D9"
android:dividerHeight="2dp"
android:listSelector="#drawable/list_selector"
dslv:drag_enabled="true"
dslv:drag_scroll_start="0.33"
dslv:drag_start_mode="onDown"/>
for reference

include in eclipse for layouts throwing "no resource found"

I am absolutely new to Java and Eclipse. I have two layout-files under /res/layout:
activity_main.xml:
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent" >
<include layout="#layout/layoutTst" />
</LinearLayout>
layout_test.xml
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:id="#+id/layoutTst"
android:orientation="vertical" >
</LinearLayout>
When I try to compile at the "include" - part I get this message:
Description Resource Path Location Type error: Error: No resource
found that matches the given name (at 'layout' with value
'#layout/layoutTst'). activity_main.xml /YouSherlock/res/layout line
6 Android AAPT Problem
So what is wrong?
You need to include the layout filename (layout_test.xml), not the ID of the root in that layout.
<include layout="#layout/layout_test" />
#layout/layoutTst
should be the name of the file not its android:id
#layout/layout_test

Custom elements and package name

When creating a custom element with attributes in Android I need to put the namespace of the application in the layout.
For example:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:whatever="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/org.example.mypackage"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent">
<org.example.mypackage.MyCustomView
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:gravity="center"
whatever:my_custom_attribute="Hello, world!" />
</LinearLayout>
Does this also requires that the structure of my project in Eclipse be the same as the name of the Android package as definied in the Manifest - as per the example?
Would this work too:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:whatever="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/org.mycompany.myproduct"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent">
<org.example.mypackage.MyCustomView
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:gravity="center"
whatever:my_custom_attribute="Hello, world!" />
</LinearLayout>
Its the package name of your application that should be reflected. So its correct to use it as you are doing.
For example:
In xmlns:whatever="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/org.mycompany.myproduct the last part org.mycompany.myproduct should be the same as your package name. And you may change xmlns:whatever to anything like xmlns:theblitz but then make sure you do use theblitz as a prefix for your attributes in the xml.
