I had started learning android development and have done most of the ui basics. Now I want to create my own app to know how much I have actually learned. I think all android devs started with one app so which one is the most basic app to create.
Only UI elements,
And no service, broadcast receivers and sq lite stuff. Have not got there yet
You could, for example, google out something like "My first android app"
Something like this is likely to come up:

I have made this uml activity diagram for my app that i am going to make. I just want to ask if it is readable and correct at any stage.
It was my first time that i used synchronization bars in uml.
It seems you confuse fork/join with merge.
I do not also understand the the beginning initial-node -> decision -> activity-final, nor the end with fork/join/player1/player2
For the special events like disconnection or application-quit whose can happen at any time it is more pratical to use accept-event-action of course associated with an interruptible-region.
If I well understand the application run on each phone, and they are connected by bluetooth, here a proposal :

I want live update of data in android. I have seen Socket.io which can work in that way in react. I want to know how to use it in android exactly? And is it efficient way to do live update in android native app?
Are you perhaps talking about something like Google Firebase? It's a realtime database... and it works on Android... but it also works on much more than Android.

Firebase or Google Cloud Messaging, Starting with Firebase is a good idea. You need to know to make http resquests "Communications" with server side.

I asked this question in Android Enthusiasts but I don't know if that is the correct place to ask. I'm looking to build a simple application that I'd like to post to Play Store.
However, my programming knowledge is limited to VB6, VB.net, VBA - primarily VB6. After doing some brief research it looks like I might not be able to build it in VB, but would C# work? Any advice?
Start with learning Java first since all Android applications are Java based. After that, you can start learning to create applications on Android Studio.

I am new to android and I would like to write a "Social" android application that would require voice calling between two phones. How should I approach this? Or would it be easier if I "outsource" the voice calling part to another program like Skype?
Thanks!
The quick easy solution is to use the ACTION_CALL intent and use whatever default calling application the user has. If you want to do the whole thing in your app Twilio has a pretty good SDK, but I don't know that I'd recommend getting into that on your first android app..
