Android: clicking the foreground notification from a service doesn't show activity

edit: My code worked fine, I was simply giving it the wrong Activity class (multiple APK build project using shared library).
I'm using the following code to display a foreground notification for my Service. For some reason though, it doesn't show me my activity when I click on the notification.
I've checked out various StackOverflow posts and followed accordingly, and even the sample FakePlayer from CommonsWare but to no avail.

Please try the following method to create the pending intent:

Try changing the flag for the pending intent to this:
PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0,
intent, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT);
Also, what is the startForeground(NOTIFICATION_ID, builder.build()); method that you are using? can you post that as well for additional help?

Android PUSH notifications with PendingIntent overriding previous

I have an application that receive PUSH notifications. When notification "not1" is received, it shows as usual using notification manager. But when "not2" is received, is not showing below "not1" but overriding it. I need show all notifications.
I thought that using different requestCode for PendingIntent will solve the problem, but not. I also tried with PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT flag and many others (including no flags). My code right now is like this:

In your code notificationManager.notify(0, notification); That 0 is the constant ID you are using, since it is always the same the notifications stack.

Notification is not cancelled after calling notification.cancel

I create notification with action button. When clicking on action button, broadcast receiver is called. I am passing the notification ID in the intent
In the broadcast receiver I do the following

However the notification does not get hidden/dismissed although I know I am hitting the code ( using log statements).
Why is that?

I found the answer. I "think" that due to the 2 pending intents having the same con and req code, they are ending up modifying their intent values. I fixed it by using 2 different request codes to ensure unique Pending Intents . Therefore , I got the same notifId

Check your id if it's zero.
Check the notification is not binded with other Service by startForeground().

Multiple notification handling

I'm having trouble in figuring out the Intent, PendingIntent Filters and Flags for notifications.
Notification are working and are getting generated as they should, but the problem is only the last notification created keeps the Bundle Data.
I want all notification to keep the Bundle Data of each notification in it until a user click on them.
Consider an application for a moment when different user send you a message a new notification gets created and when you click on any notification the app launches and takes you to some specific Activity. I want the same thing but when there are more than one notification the last notification keeps the Data where as previous notification loose their Bundle Data and Intent.
There is another thing which Filters to use to restrict the app from launching a new instance of MainActivity everytime a notification is clicked at.
The Notification_ID are different for each notification.

You are giving request code 0 to all notifications.
0 should be replaced by each unique number, otherwise, each new notification will override the old one.

android clear intent which send from notification

My app is getting called by an intent that is passing information(pendingintent in statusbar) but when I hit the home button and reopen my app by holding the home button it calls the intent again and the same extras are still there...
is there any way to clear the intent? or check whether it has been used before?

The problem starts when I receive a notification. If I start the app from the notification, it starts the correct screen and I can use the app => ok. But when I quit the app (with home or back button) it do not appears anymore in the "recent app" list. More precisely:

What you need is the PendingIntent.FLAG_CANCEL_CURRENT :
If the described PendingIntent already exists, the current one is canceled before generating a new one. You can use this to retrieve a new PendingIntent when you are only changing the extra data in the Intent; by canceling the previous pending intent, this ensures that only entities given the new data will be able to launch it.
PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(
context, 0, intent, PendingIntent.FLAG_CANCEL_CURRENT);
This will ensure that your latest data will pe present on your Intent.
