I have few cards in a RecyclerView. Each card holds a custom video view. On click of a videoview, video should start. However in my case it just shows blue borders and the video doesnt run. The code is given below,

I want each card to display just a thumbnail initially. On click of a video, the related card should start the video (not all of them). VideoView should take the whole screen when a video starts. How can I achieve this?

I had the same problem. This answer from another stackOverflow question, solved it for me. That is by giving explicit value for height (or width or both) in VideoView. For example

Both ytNames[] and vdoID[] are arrays.
All the places you're trying to use them, you need to give an index. Like ytNames[0] for the first one.

Any idea why RecyclerView items get deformed , each consecutive item gets worse?
UPDATE: I'm using CardViews and now there's no view "deformation" but the shadow/elevation height changes.
It seems that elevation gets higher depending on where on the screen the item is located vertically, the shadow grows as the item gets scrolled down. Please see the video here: https://youtu.be/nROYq8rpUMs.

Add a background to your RelativeLayout - seems that elevation needs it to work properly. I have tested this with your layout and it does work.
I had the same issue, and in my case the problem was caused by a background drawable which I set in my RecyclerViewAdapter#onBindViewHolder:

After I removed the line above the problem has disappeared!
(To have both a background and nice shadows I used an inner element filling the CardView and applied background to it instead of CardView)

Add your button's OnClick event in the Pro_Adapter's getView() methond as you do normally in your activities' onCreate() method.
Implement OnClickListener in your adapter class and get the Button click first and do the other task when you get the event. If you need the call back to your main activity class implement your own listener.follow the link enter link description here
Add the onClickListener to your Button in getView() of your ListAdapter.
If you want handle event click button in row, i'm think you should answer set button onclick event for every row of listview
