I'm trying to change the action bar color.
Does anyone knows how it's possible?
Thanks!!
Following Google page: https://developer.android.com/training/material/theme.html#ColorPalette
I added a style propriert inside my main theme:

#6876c5

and it did work!

Guys I want to have translucent status bar with black background navigation buttons. Just like Netflix App as shown in picture. I tried really hard to find any way but I failed to achieve this. Any Idea?
Add in styles.xml in Base Application style
Change status bar color :
#color/blackColor

For Translucent status bar :
true

For navigation bar color :
#color/blackColor

in layout file use : android:fitsSystemWindows="true" in root layout.
I'd like to know what's the name of the part on top of the action bar (where the time is displayed alongside the battery, wifi, etc), and how can its color be changed ?
Thanks !
That's the status bar.
Just add colorPrimaryDark item to your theme in styles.xml

#color/primary.dark

i have an action bar scherlock where i want to show logo without app title. I've just added in manifest android:logo tag and some code getSupportActionBar().setDisplayShowTitleEnabled(false) in my activity thats hide my title. It seems to work fine, but when app was started a title displays in a few seconds, how i can resolve this?
just try this in order to hide title bar.
Use this in styles.xml file

I suggest use custom title bar.
you can customize it as you like.
example
but use 45dip instead of 35dip
I am using sherlock actionbar and made custom action bar using differnt color (blue) . When there are menu items . as i click on menu item . items background turns in to gray . Not able to point which attribute of the style is making this effect had checked the most possibility . any help would be appreciated
after some analysis found following answer

#null

#null

#null

#null

The issue is you need to override these attributes in your application. donot try changing in actionbar apk libary. that was the point i missed while fixing this.
In my android app, in the Action Bar, next to the < image is an icon. I want to make it invisible/gone ondemand dynamically. How do I do that? The icon is actually defined as follows (this should help you realize where in the action bar I am talking about).

showHome|homeAsUp

#drawable/my_icon

I tried the following, but nothing.
this.getActionBar().setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(false);
this.getActionBar().setLogo(null);
this.getActionBar().setDisplayUseLogoEnabled(true);
In Java, call setDisplayShowHomeEnabled(false) and setDisplayShowTitleEnabled(false) on your ActionBar.
