I am placing several ImageViews (eggs) into RelativeLayout
a link to image
I would like to have them all the same size aligned in the row, however if there is not enough place left for all of them RelativeLayout just shrinks on of them and all the remaining ones are just omitted.
Is there any way how to tell RelativeLayout to resize them equally, so that all of them fit to the screen and have uniform size (intependent of the screen size and resolution)?

Instead of adding your views to RelativeLayout you can add them to LinearLayout with orientation="horizontal" and with each layout set to android:layout_weight="1"
You should use Linear Layout and you can easily put your button or image with same size. For example;

Set the weight of the contents inside each row as follows:
- For the percentage TextView, set the weight to 3.
- For the ImageView, set the weight to 8.
- For the name Textview, set the weight to 7.
This will result to the entire row to look slightly offset from the centre. Make sure all three views are set to match parent width.
Once you set weights for the views call:
yourLinearLayout.invalidate()
Try this out and see if it works.
If I remove the line indicated, the "elements" are displayed, although they are to big and go partly out of the screen,
if I try to set the width and height (LayoutParams) of an element inside the tablerow, the tablelayout is displayed empty/blank.
What am I doing wrong?

I think you should use the parent viewGruop's layoutparams,maybe you can try use the TableLayout.LayoutParams(100,100) instead.
I am trying to create an Activity with a ScrollView in it. In the ScrollView will be "boxes" (sort of like a button) that is just a bit smaller than the width of the parent view and spaced slightly apart vertically. Because the boxes will have a couple different size text in a couple areas on them, I think I need to make the out of RelativeLayouts. (I would post a picture but can't with my reputation point so hopefully this makes sense).
I tried create an XML for the activity and than programatically adding the relativeviews. I got it to work, sort of, but am having trouble with the box spacing.

I get the scrollable section, no problem. Problem is my blue "boxes" appear to be touching one another and I can't figure out how to make them look like buttons with padding left and right and between them. I tried
rlView.setPadding(20,20,20,20);
right after the setBackground color. All that appears to do is pad the text... not the RelativeViews.
Any suggestions no how to get this to work?

This compiles and runs, but the setMargins is not working. My screen has the "UPDATE ALL" button at the top like it should and (19) "Text #" with a blue background, but they are full width and touching one another so it is a solid blue background.
I am getting close, but not sure how to get the margins to set correctly for the rlView relativeview (not the textviews).

For each entry in the FOR, I had to use a LINEARLAYOUT to be able to set the margins properly, and in that LINEARLAYOUT I had to use a RELATIVELAYOUT to use the addRules to get the proper positioning of the TextViews.
If there is an easier way, let me know. Thanks for everyones help!!

Basically, an Activity should display on screen:
1. A logo on top. Must always be displayed. Must center both vertically and horizontally, when choices leaves extra space on screen.
2. A ScrollView at bottom. Hosts vertical LinearLayout, which in turn hosts a set of choices a user can choose from. Must take minimal space necessary to display all choices (So logo is vertically centered). Can take up up to (Screen - Logo) space on screen. Choices are added programmatically.
Now, I have defined it in layout as:

If ImageView is layed out using layout_above=scrollView, ScrollView is layed out before, NOT taking into consideration minimum size of ImageView.
If ScrollView is layed out using layout_below=ImageView, ImageView just stays on top. When there are only 2-3 choices, screen looks pretty ugly.
Is there a way I can satisfy the constraints? Or should I define two different layout xml files, and switch to the correct one programmatically?
