Nav Drawer Menu Android - Group of items listview - android

I'm trying to do a navigator drawer menu in android and until now I did it:
But I want like a group of items like this edited image on paint:
How can I do it?
How can divide some items?
Thanks!

You can do it with three listviews or with just one list containing null values at positions where separators must placed:
Use two layouts: one for item and another for separator.
Create an adapter with an items list as parameter in constructor as usual.
In the list you'll pass set the items you want to be separators to null.
In adapter, implement on getView, where you check if the current item is null, to create a separator, or not, to create a regular item.

On Android Drawer Two icons Appear on ActionBar, Need Only One Icon

I am implementing navigation drawer in my android app. But problem is two icons appear on actionbar. I have added ActionBarDrawerToggle and it seems second icon is displayed from ActionBarDrawerToggle. Please tell me where is the error in my code.
Please tell me wheat could be error.

Thank you in advance
the first icon is supposed to be drawer icon (aka hamburger). but you replaced it with launcher icon
mActionBarDrawerToggle = new ActionBarDrawerToggle(
this, /* host Activity */

R.drawable.R.drawable.ic_launcher, /* nav drawer icon to replace 'Up' caret */
R.string.drawer_opened, /* "open drawer" description */
R.string.drawer_closed /* "close drawer" description */
)
replace R.drawable.ic_launcher with actual drawer icon resource in code above.

LinearLayout Cannot Be Cast to ListView

I am working on making a navigation drawer using the in house code generated by Android Studio. I am trying to create my own custom layout for the navigation drawer, it seems the only difference between my custom layout and the one generated by Android Studio is that it uses tools:context = ".ACTIVITYNAME"
and that the ListView is the root layout.
Then I get the stack trace error, as the title suggests that a LinearLayout cannot be casted to a ListView.

I am confused. I was hoping it would be easier to alter the code. I just want to add an image header above the list view.
You have to define ID of each item in your layout and then get that item by its ID in your code.
For example your custom layout will look like this (look at android:id="#+id/listView")
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#color/Dark_Grey"
tools:context=".NavigationDrawerFragment">
<ImageView
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="150dp"
android:id="#+id/imageView"
android:src="#drawable/bitsnbytes_logo_phrase"
android:padding="10dp"/>
<ListView
android:id="#+id/listView"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:choiceMode="singleChoice"
android:divider="#android:color/transparent"
android:dividerHeight="0dp"
android:background="#color/DARK_GREEN"
/>
</LinearLayout>
Then in your fragment
#Override
public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container,
Bundle savedInstanceState) {
View view = (View) inflater.inflate(
R.layout.your_custom_navdrawer, container, false); // make sure it's your custom layout the one like above
ImageView imageView = (ImageView) view.findViewById(R.id.imageView); //id same as in your layout
mDrawerListView = (ListView) view.findViewById(R.id.listView); //id same as in your layout
}

Navigation Drawer does not open

In my application I want to use Navigation Drawer and Action Bar in all Activities. Therefore In MainActivity I had declared them and other activities extends from this MainActivity. Now ActionBar works fine in Other activities also, But Navigation drawer does not opens in other activities. icon of drawer is visible in other activities but it is not open. If i remove setContentView from other activities then drawer works perfectly. But after setting setContentView it shows only icon but does not open.
following is my MainActivity code:

Here after commenting setContentView Navigation drawer works but after setting setContentView layout it only shows icon but does not open. Why is it so? What wrong in this? Any suggestion will be apprecited. Thanks in advance.

Sample Navigation Folding Drawer

I want to share a demo on Navigation Folding Drawer. How do I do it?
I've come across some really pernicious problems where there is either no good information available or the good information is buried under a sea of bad information.
You have to download the Folding Layout library.

Can't close NavigationDrawer with right-to-left swipe

I have been trying to fix the problem I've got, which is that I'm unable to close the NavigationDrawer by swiping from right-to-left, without success. Opening it by swiping from the left edge of the screen to the right is working as it should. </android.support.v4.view.ViewPager>
EDIT: Turns out I can close the NavigationDrawer, but not how it should be. To close it, I have to swipe from left to right, and then swipe from right to left without taking my finger off the screen. So I have to make the same gesture as opening the drawer and then instantly make the closing gesture, but thats not how it should be.
I think the XML causes your problem. The ListView (left_drawer) should be the last element in your XML so it can overlay your content and catch your swipe gesture.
If you put your ViewPager within the FrameLayout (that's why it's called content_frame), it should work as expected.
Yeah peitek is right to be more clarify this is my xml file.
<fragment
android:id="#+id/single_map_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
class="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment"/>
<include
layout="#layout/app_bar_map_view_tt"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:id="#+id/single_map_appbar"/>
<!--This should be the last element to maintain right to left closing gesture.-->
<android.support.design.widget.NavigationView
android:id="#+id/nav_view"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_gravity="start"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:headerLayout="#layout/nav_header_map_view_tt"
app:menu="#menu/activity_map_view_tt_drawer" />
just put the navigation view as the last element of your drawer layout
