how to create an expandable listView inside navigation drawer?

I need to create a navigation drawer like flipkart or Astro file manager app.
How can I replace a listView with an expandable listView?

You can create an ExpandableListView and use it as your NavigationView. An example of xml result:

Can I use SwipeRefreshLayout inside DrawerLayout?

Both layouts are available in appcompat support library 7.
I am not getting proper result of of it.
I have DrawerLayout as root layout and then inside it one error text view. followed by a SwipeRefreshLayout
That textview was visible when root layout was FrameLayout. But ever since I changed the root layout to DrawerLayout may error textview never reveals !
Am I using it correctly ?

Added FrameLayout as first child of DrawerLayout.
And added TextView, ProgressBar, SwipeRefreshLayout as child of that FrameLayout and now it works as expected.
I sorted out this issue meanwhile same trick is suggested by bharat in comments.

Android Navigation Drawer is overwriting my main layout

I recently added a Navigation Drawer to my Android layout. The Drawer itself is working fine, however the old layout is not displaying at all (the elements are there, but not visable).
I have tried to play around with the positioning of the elements, but nothing seems to work.

Instead of using a ListView as your drawer, you can wrap the ListView in a RelativeLayout for instance like this:

You can put whatever you like as the layout for the NavigationDrawer - the sky is the limit :-)
Another solution could be to add a header and footer to your current ListView, but then it wouldn't be fixed on top or the bottom.

It's actually not as simple as user665 suggests. If you're going straight off the example provided by Google, you need to let the DrawerLayout know what its content is by changing DrawerLayout.isDrawerOpen and DrawerLayout.closeDrawer to the View your ListView is wrapped in, otherwise you're going to throw a ClassCastException because the LayoutParams won't match up.
So, to make a static header, you could do somehting like:

Then reference R.id.drawer_content when using the methods I listed above.

After the FrameLayout, the first view will accepted as Navigation Drawer, so you create a layout after FrameLayout, then put your Views inside of it. Here is a example, it is very basic but you will get the point.
