I am working on a game in Unity3D and I want to integrate facebook with it.
I want to be able to send a gift request for my app to a friend, but the thing is they appear in user's notification panel of Facebook but they don't appear in Notification Panel of my game. I want them to see a notification, like in Candy Crush(when someone receives a request in Candy Crush this also appears in the notification bar as push notification).
I want those requests to also appear in notification bar of the device, both Android and iOS. I need to know how they do it. Is there any service i can use or some processing from fb requests.
The candy crush notifications are dispatched to the candy crush app itself, not by facebook. If you want to do so please have a look to Unity3D Push notifications.

i want to know How to add Notification on webview App android
I'm currently developing an app for a client, and one of its requirements is to handle notification data from FCM. I read the FCM docs and to handle FCM data when the app is background/closed, I'm using the getIntent().getExtras() method.
However, this will only work if and only if the user taps the notification banner.
So, if the user ignores the notification banner and launches the app on the home screen, there is no way of getting the data from the system tray.
So, is there a way to get the data from the system tray without tapping the notification banner?
I tried investigating other android apps' behavior, like Gmail and Outlook, by sending an email while the apps are closed.
When a notification is prompted, I put my phone in airplane mode and launch the app without tapping the notification banner.
Somehow the app was able to get the email.
So is this data from the system tray's notification?
or a query from a server (I don't know if a post request from a server is possible since the app is in the background).
If anyone can explain or give a solution, it will be a big help for my project.
I want to stop my Android App opening automatically when I click on the PUSH Notification send via Google FCM. I have changed the message type from Data Message to Notification message.
The PUSH I am sending via the server REST API has a promo code in it, but has nothing to do with my App really, so I dont want the Android App to open at all. I can't used the FCM Console to send the PUSH notification as each promo code is unique to the user and their pet, and there are thousands of them. I'm using the test http v1. api but the actual Android App has been built by someone else and I dont have access to the source code. What should I be looking out for ? Is the PUSH auto opening the App due to a call it makes and an intent in the app I can't change?
Thanks for any guidance.
Using OneSignal Push Notification system, I send different links as notifications to my app users. But when a user clicks on the notification, it opens the "Complete action using.." app list.
Is it possible to open those links inside a WebView component of my app? I'm using MIT app inventor. (The action would be like when someone clicks a notification from Facebook, it shows the content inside the Facebook app.)
If you can't get this working in App Inventor, you might want to try Thunkable, which is based on App Inventor but adds additional functionality, such as One Signal based Push Notifications. Take a look at https://docs.thunkable.com/android/components/push-notifications.html
Hope this helps.

I'm building an apache cordova messaging app (using javascript).
I'm looking for a way to have more control over notifications in my app.
Is there a way to receive a notification and build its text on the client device? I would like to create it in the user's proffered language and use the user's contacts names in the notification itself.
Also, I would like to be able to decide if to show a certain notification when it is received in the device (for example, don't show a notification for a group chat that was silenced)
Is it possible to do when the app is not open at all?
How is it handled differently from native android and iOS apps?
We are talking about push notifications right?
I don't remember the exact function names but think it's quite possible using cordova notification plugin.
So when app is in active/background, you will be able to get the notification object in your callback and decide whatever you do - show it in notification area using local notification, or show in-app alert or just ignore.
When app is closed, system handles the notification and shows in notification area(based on the notification payload APNS/GCMS sends) and when user taps on it, app is launched and a notification handler callback is called inside app.
Anyway, I think what you want to do is quite possible with native apps and cordova plugin since it exposes all of native functionalities.
