I want to scan a fingerprint. Also I have the device SDK provided for the manufacturer and there is an example inside of how to use the functions. When I run the example code suddenly it crashes while saying: "libOpenVG.so not found"
There is nothing in my code with the word "OpenVG". If I really nedd to use that thing, how can I use OpenVG in android studio?

I'm trying to use the CapabilityApi to find my standalone wear2 app from my phone, but it only seems to work if both the wear-app and the mobile-app share the same package id.
I follow the instructions at https://developer.android.com/wear/preview/features/standalone-apps.html for "Detecting your app on another device". I see no errors and I can se the Nodes as normal using the NodeApi I just wont get anything from the CapabilityApi unless both apps have the same package id. This feels like a throwback to wear1 with no standalone apps.
(the sample app at https://github.com/googlesamples/android-WearVerifyRemoteApp also stops working if you change the package id)
How would that would that work if I have more than one mobile-app that wants to talk to the same wear-app using CapabilityApi?
Does anyone know if this is the expected behaviour or am I doing something wrong?
I am quite new to azure hubs. But spent three days to understand the flow(to use in xamarin forms).
Currently tying to link with android only(through xamarin forms). So when I thought everything needed is ready(GCM key and azure access policies) from my side, I started coding using vs2015.
First thing I did was creating "Blank portable cross platform" project.
Then, tried to install Microsoft.Azure.NotificationHubs package. PFA
But I am getting following errors( related to Profile259).
I spent whole day to understand what error is saying and I understood that package is expecting different target framework than what I am referring.
So I tried changed to other versions and through some blogs I found that maybe this Profile259 directory is missing. But it's all there.
Package is expecting .Net Framework 4.5 Full Profile. I cross checked it by following the link
I updated my azure version.Nuget package is also latest.
So what could possibly go wrong.
Please guide me in right way to get push notifications in devices.
PFA below.
I had to add it as a component. Go to the Components under the Android and iOS project, select edit components off the context menu, and add the "Azure Messaging by Xaramin" component. You'll probably have to download it by clicking "Get More Components".
If you're working on Android only for now, try removing all other targets from screenshot #2. There's a chance the error message is caused by one (or all) of the Windows targets.
I have reached a problem in the final stages of completing my stack. I have been working on this project for a couple months now and it is finally complete. The aim of the app is for you (as the user) to be able to have a type of calculator which performs a certain sequence of sums once a numerical value is entered. It is now finished (thank goodness! :P) but I have reached an error whilst saving this app. I am saving it as an Android application (.apk) for use on a mobile phone. I have the Android personal 1 pack, and my error is as follows:
There was an error while saving the standalone application could not compile application class
I am unsure as to why this is occurring but find it hard to believe that this could have occurred because of either invalid syntax or that a command I was using was incompatible with Android.
As I said before my stack is very simple and only performs a few basic mathematical functions (mainly multiplying contents of fields) by each other. If you wish to see this script, please request.
#ninjabunny14 yep it's a good idea to include code, actual text of error messages, details of the platform you're developing on, versions of LiveCode/Android etc
In the meantime you could Google "error while saving the standalone application could not compile application class" like I've just done and found quite a few links to LiveCode forum threads (like this one http://forums.runrev.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=12330) which look like they might be of use...
NinjaBunny,
This sounds more like an error from the Android SDK than a LiveCode error. For starters check these things in the Android settings pane in the LiveCode Standalone Applications Settings:
Identifier: It has to be unique to this application. If you've ever done a test build for Android without changing this default identifier you will get an error.
Signing: Unless you have a key, choose Sign for development only or Don't sign.
Minimum Android version: make sure you have all of the packages needed for your target version in your Android SDK.
Go to Edit/Preferences and set up the Android SDK path, which is probably empty in your case:
I had this a few times because it is easy to forget.
The identifier in the android settings does not like characters like - so do not use a name like com.itis-me.myapp , but use com.itisme.myapp
the use of a character like - gives you this error.
Okay here's the deal:
I want to download the full source of the MMS/SMS application that ships with Android phones. I want to be able to modify it, and add a little custom functionality to it.
I am developing using Eclipse, and I'm on Windows 7. I have noticed that there is now a Git for Windows, but I am pretty lost in it and not sure how to integrate everything with Eclipse.
Basically, I want to just get it to the point where I have all the source code visible in Eclipse and be able to see the app run JUST like the built-in texting/MMS app that is already on my phone. Then I'll know that I can modify it and proceed.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
There's a mirror of the SMS/MMS app on GitHub here. Just import that to Eclipse and customise away.
Unless you want to customize and use it only on your own phone (without publishing), this is not a good idea. This is because it uses classes that are hidden from the sdk. By default you won't even be able to build the apk via eclipse, but there is a way. The reason why this is a bad idea is that the hidden apis are not guaranteed to remain the same through different api-levels and your app can stop working with the next android update, and might also not work on previous api-levels. In-fact your app might not even work on selected phones running the same api-level.
I want to develop an app which will create another Android app as output.
So my question is, whether this thing is possible in Android?
I got one PC software called "App Inventor" which takes data from user and give .apk file as
output, which can be installed in Android device.
This same thing my app should do on Android device.
Can any one give any ideas regarding this?
So my question is, whether this thing is possible in Android?
An Android app can generate text files. These text files may represent Java source code, layout XML, etc. However, an Android app cannot run a Java compiler or the Android tool chain.
