I am using android design support library.
ListView first row overlaps with Toolbar widget.
In my MainActivity i added coordination layout and in first TAB fragment added ListView layout.
But first row of the ListView cut because if Toolbar tabs.
How to fix this problem?

I had a similar problem and after following the top answer, I rewrote my code to use RecyclerView and got the same issue. I then added this behavior to my content layout and it worked
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
CoordinatorLayout's ScrollingViewBehavior only works with views that support nested scrolling (for example RecyclerView). ListView does not support it by default, so the CoordinatorLayout is not handling the position of the ListView correctly.
If you want all the scrolling behaviours of the design support library, you could try converting your list to a RecyclerView. ListView also gained nested scrolling support in API 21, which you could try to enable with setNestedScrollingEnabled(true), but that will obviously only work on Lollipop and newer versions.

I'm getting the same problem where part of my listview is overlapped by toolbar.
I'm able to make it work in android 4.4.4(Kitkat) but the issue could not be resolved in android 5.1(Lolipop)

make sure you build the project and then run it.
Don't add your listview in activity_main.xml instead add it in app_bar_main.xml which you'll include in activity_main.xml anyways.

After checking this option, add your ListView and set default margins (Eg. 8dp). This will NOT hide the first item in list view.
Use layout margin bottom/top property, and adjust your listview not to cover up the space where the toolbar resides.
You could add some padding to the Toolbar using
android:paddingBottom="5dp"
That should add some space between the two elements

I have a page that has a custom recyclerview. I want items I add to the recyclerview to pop up in a list. App was working just fine before I updated my AppCompact library. But essentially, I had anchored my FAB to a Coordinator layout, but I got an IllegalStateException and to resolve that, I had to anchor it to one of the Coordinator layout's children. I picked the recyclerview. But the problem now is that the recycler view does not fill the entire page. It only shows one item (I can scroll through them) but they only take up the space of one - like viewing one at a time. How do I make the layout work like it did before the update?

There is a fragment with an EditText in it, and I want to show a toolbar fixed at the top in this fragment.

What happened here is you need to define specific locations in Relative layout otherwise later drawn/defined views (your edittext) will be shown above previous drawn views (your toolbar).
I'm having a CoordinatorLayout with AppbarLayout which includes Toolbar and TabLayout and included ViewPager showing 3 Fragments that includes RecyclerView of CardView.
The issue is when clicking an ImageView (3 dots) on CardView the PopupMenu shows but the Toolbar is scrolled up.

It seems that the behaviour is ok, but in your case (like us), you don't want that it happens.
If you read all the post, you will see project members are working on a method to "disable" parent scrolling with popupmenu. Maybe in the future it will be available in support libraries .
We must wait for this...
I used "import android.widget.PopupMenu;" instead "import android.support.v7.widget.PopupMenu;" This library have the same interface for PopupMenu, but have no problem with scrolled up Toolbar.

What am I trying to do with represented in the following image:

Any ideas on how I can fix this layout? Am I using the wrong components?
Also, should I be using a CardView for the layout with text1 2 3?
Add this in the styles (for pre-Lolipop devices)

Add this line in your AppBarLayout
app:elevation="0dp"
Add to appbar layout and to included layout app:elevation="4dp" this way they will be on same depth level and you will see just elevation of included layout
I am using the SDK Vuforia and testing on devices with version 4.4 below the toolbar disappears, the menu buttons are there but invisible where would be the correct buttons are visible.
The drawerlayout button with recyclerview I use the side menu does not work in version below 4.4, and its icon disappears. With much effort can swipe to activate the side menu. Above this version of the menu functions and buttons are displayed.

I made a call on Vuforia forum to see if someone there could help me ... Inclusive has a test project to facilitate the location of the problem.
As this link, the solution was found. The problem was organize the objects on the screen. With this following code could play the elements that disappeared in front of the preview camera.
