Android Layout with images and text

I am trying to make a layout with an image on the left side, then a text, and two images on the right side. I show you how it likes now:
I want to put the two right icons on the right side, next to the limit of the screen. Then, if you see, when the text has more than one line, the two icons disappear and when the text is too long the icons are very small. I want a static space for every one of the icons.

I suggest you to use a LinearLayout as the top container, and distribute the space of the child elements with weight attributes. When using weight, you must set layout_width to 0dp for horizontal layouts or layout_heigth to 0dp for vertical layouts.

The above code is written by me to achieve the following figure:.But what I am achieving is this: or this:.
I have absolutely no clue about what is the mistake I am doing here??I am just using a main relative layout
OtherWeatherInfo_main and within that I am embedding two relative layouts to represent the two weather attributes. #dimen/weather_space is 145 dp.I am unable to align the two relative layout within the main layout equally.Any help will be appreciated.

Wrap the two RelativeLayouts inside a LinearLayout with horizontal orientation and then assign both the RelativeLayouts equal weight.
In general, something like this:

Also you can wrap both your RelativeLayouts to the horizontal LinearLayout and use android:layout_weight attribute

Set TextView width according to other View's width

I have a ImageView, the image is loaded from the net and can vary in width.
Below I have a TextView with a description of the image. I want the TextView to be exactly as wide as the ImageView.
My try was this:

I know I could set the TextView's width programmatically after I know the image's width, but is there also a way to do it in the XML layout?

I don't know if it will work, but try doing in your code, after load the image:
textView.setWidth(imageView.getDrawable().getIntrinsicWidth());

With a small change of layout: replace LinearLayout with a RelativeLayout:

This way the TextView is always below imageView and its bounds are aligned to imageViews

You can use weight like this:

You can use the wight property in xml and give equal weight to both imageview and textview. then both size will be equal

Android Layout left and right align in horizontal layout

I am have a ImageView and a ImageButton. I have them next to each other in a horizontal layout. I am trying to make it so that the image is left aligned on the screen, and the button is right aligned. I have tried setting gravity but it doesnt seem to make a difference. Where am I going wrong?

Make imageview and imagebutton wrap_content and set layout_gravity to left and right accordingly.

a RelativeLayout would solve your problem with a snap, but if you still insist on using LinearLayout (just because we're badass and do things the hard way), you do it like this:
Your parent LinearLayout is fill-parent, left-aligned, and horizontally oriented,
and contains your ImageView, and another LinearLayout.

android:gravity="right|center_vertical"
aligns your TextView to the right. How about center_horizontal?
And your LinearLayouts have the same ID, if there is not more code, then I would delete one of them.

I found none of the answers work exactly as the OP intended, but the RelativeLayout solution was the closest one. Except that the TextView wasn't centered. But, with layout_centerInParent=true, works like a charm:

you have used android:gravity="right|center_vertical" in your textview. Use android:gravity="center".

Try to add empty View inside horizontal LinearLayout between element that you want see left and element that you want to see right, e.g.:

I think,gravity means the position of things inside the component(for textview,it means the text you have given)in component where layout_gravity means position of component itself in the whole layout.So...

The solution for this is-
android:gravity="center_vertical"
Normally you'll also have to take care of its parent's position too to make sure it works.
