I want open my Android database using SqlLite manager on mozilla.
I took some error when I tried to open Android Device Manager. The error log is in 1439225229207.txt file. I looked for the the reason and I found:
java.io.IOException: The folder "C:\Users\Myname.android\monitor-workspace.metadata" is read-only.
Unfortunately i couldn't find monitor-workspace in .android file. I enabled show hidden files but it was'n still there.
What you advice?
I fixed it by running android studio as administrator,

I have been using Android studio for quite a while now, but one day the application just suddenly go wrong. When I try to click on my directories to find the files to import or open, the application gets incredibly slow and not responsive at all. When I finally successfully switch to the intended directory where my file is stored, the directory doesn't show anything that can be opened (as shown in the screenshot, where I try to open a file from my download folder but it doesn't show anything).
This error message kept showing up as well (open file operation failed: The open file operation failed to connect to the open and save panel service.)
I have tried to uninstall and re-download Android studio for several times but the problem still remains.
I'm on the latest macOS beta - I've seen the same issue with Artic Fox build of AS.
I upgraded to the Beta Previews of AS and this issue went away.
https://developer.android.com/studio/preview/index.html
This is stable WORKAROUND:
Launch Android studio (stable)
Help - Edit Custom VM Options
Put this options -Dide.mac.file.chooser.native=false
Restart Android studio
I'm having the same issue. Not sure what is going on, but I'm opening from the command line in the meantime to get to the correct directory:
open -a /Applications/Android\ Studio.app /path/to/my_android_project
I am brand new to Xamarin.Forms projects. I have created a project with VS2019 which has not been modified in any way, added a Pixel 2 Pie 9.0 - Api 28 emulator within the Android Device Manager. When I try to run the project on the android emulator, I am unable to run my app, with the following exception in my error list:
Error XARDF7004: System.ArgumentException: Illegal characters in path.
at System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission.EmulateFileIOPermissionChecks(String fullPath)
at System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission.QuickDemand(FileIOPermissionAccess access, String fullPath, Boolean checkForDuplicates, Boolean needFullPath)
at System.IO.Directory.Delete(String fullPath, String userPath, Boolean recursive, Boolean checkHost)

Since I am simply using a basic project template generated by VS2019, this has to be a bug on Microsofts end. How can I fix their error?
It had to do with the character length of my solutions folder.
C:\Users\david\Dropbox\Projects\Visual Studio\PriceWatch\PriceWatch\PriceWatchXamarinForms\PriceWatchXamarinForms
(This bloated structure was generated by the IDE, everything after the Visual Studio folder)
I changed it to C:\Projects\PriceWatch\PriceWatchXamarinForms and then it worked.
I our case the reason was that some of our third party dependencies (api assemblies) forced us to set Properties > Android Options > Linking to "Sdk and User Assemblies" instead of "None".
Hope this helps someone...
Bad error message.
I recently experienced this with VS 16.9.2 AND 16.9.3. And this is how I fixed it.
Open android SDK manager (make sure you have at least API level 29 or 30 checked).
Click on the Tools tab right next to Platforms Tab(that you will have landed on)
Ensure that the following are installed:
-> ANDROID SDK command-line tools, Platform-tools, build tools, Android emulator and NDK
P.S. It might take a while to download and install.
Don't forget to create your emulator of choice once the above steps have been successfully completed.
Was able to fix this problem by starting an adb shell and go into the app directory:
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.fips.SorterApp/files
then
rm -rf .__override__
and deploy worked again
There are many causes for this error.
Mine was caused by having invalid directories in my system PATH. Removing the invalid entries and restarting my environment (either by killing and restarting all explorer.exe processes or by restarting machine) solved the problem.
A solution to this is the subst command it creates a "new" drive at a folder location. Then you open the sln file from the new drive.
subst e: C:\Users\david\Dropbox\Projects\Visual Studio\PriceWatch\
then open the e: drive in file explorer or the open solution dialog
I spent hours on this error and none of the suggestions regarding changing the path worked for me. What did work is I went into the android simulator and went into app settings and forced stop, as well as clearing storage and cache.
I think I'd tried everything to fix it but failed.
I've downloaded eclipse from here: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-android-developers-includes-incubating-components/neonr
It's the latest eclipse package made to work with android app developing.
AND
I've downloaded and installed Android Sdk from:
https://dl.google.com/android/installer_r24.4.1-windows.exe
https://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r24.4.1-macosx.zip
That's right, both windows and mac versions.
My Android sdk looks like this.
And I created a new android application project, and I just open a pre-made layout xml file and as soon as I save a change I got this.
'Running Android Lint' has encountered a problem.
Failed
Detail:
Failed
java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException
So, here is the big question, how to fix android lint? Or at least point me the right direction, I've tried this on a PC and on a Mac, same problem.
Update: I know android studio and I've used it alot. Let's just say I have my reasons to pick up eclipse and make it work again.
It can be solved by turn off lint error check.
Click Window in Eclipse, select Preferences. Select Android -> Lint Error Checking on the left, and uncheck following checkboxes:
1.Run full error check when exporting app and abort if errors are found 2.When saving file check for error
For ref please check the screenshot I have attached:
Guys at JetBrains must love to hide the most common tools. Why can't the Android Studio be at least as good as the old eclipse plugin.
Just where on Earth did the file explorer window go?
I've already read:
File Explorer in Android Studio
How to get to the file explorer in android studio
But this is all I can get:
Where is the file explorer tab supposed to be found? When I clicked the Android Device Monitor button it said it was already shown. But now it gives me a "Failed to create the Java VM" error that disconnects the device, and a few seconds later it reconnects again.
Using Android Studio v1.1.0
Solved thanks to #Lipi's answer: https://stackoverflow.com/a/25159856.
The .ini file was trying to give the monitor too much memory, and reducing it solved the issue. That file is in the Android SDK folder, it's not inside AS.
Android Studio does not currently show the file explorer as a tab in the IDE, it just uses the SDK's and opens it in a separate window.
Android 4.1 emulator. When I'm trying to pull a file from DDMS-file explorer
Pull file under application databases directory(db file).
Got error: Failed to pull selection
I had try some way: 1. restart eclipse. 2. changed the directory permission
Any other developers got the issue?
Under DDMS click on emulator. It should be highlighted. Then try to pull the file, it will work.
Its eclipse bug.
