Why content goes behind appbar android

I am trying to get the content below AppBar but it doesn't work. Here is the the code of the layout of my activity :

I have tryied the solution given in other stackoverflow posts like app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior" but it doesn't work. It gives this :
I have tryied with this android:layout_marginTop="?android:attr/actionBarSize" and it works but I still would like to understand how to get app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior" working.

If you don't need AppBarLayout then you can change your MainActivityLayout like this

Try changing your content layout to following:

I think this will solve your problem. Because app:layout_behavior is not used correctly in your layout. You need to use it on the layout that contains your content which is your ConstraintLayout in here, not LinearLayout. In addition, It seems that LinearLayout in your layout is useless, unless you are going to add something dynamic inside it.

OOPS my mistake. I didn't notice that your content is a fragment. Change main layout to following and remove app:layout_behavior from your content layout:

Content behind Toolbar (Android)

I am trying to add a recycler view on a Drawer Layout. The problem is that the RecyclerView, which is in a separate document content_main.xml, is placed behind the Toolbar found in the main document activity_main.xml.

I tried adding app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior" as found in this answer but it did not work. I also changed the height from match_parent to wrap_content

VideoView overlapping the navigation layout

I'm trying to play video in videoview from mobile memory, i'm using Navigation view and fragments,when single view in xml then no overlapping but when i make another view and after playing video the videoview comes infront of navigation layout, attached screenshot, i already used NavigationView.bringToFront();
the boelow answers didn't solve my problem but somehow i managed to solve it doing a little confusing things,
below code is my previous code, now i changed it into
->Parent ScrollView inner LinearLayout, then ImageView, RelativeLayout with bottom gravity and then my VideoView which is above of last TextView and textview which is parentbottom

FloatingAction default behavior doesn't work

I'm creating an app with a navigation drawer. And over all my fragments there needs to be a Floating Action button. But when I create a Snackbar the floatingactionbutton goes up, but never goes back down.
I don't know what I have done wrong.

How to set drawerlayout below toolbar with coordinator layout

I have an xml like this, when I show drawer layout, It overlays Toolbar, I want my drawerlayout below my Toolbar, I cannot figure out how to do it, I tried lots of stuff and I tried it all day long. How can I use CoordinatorLayout with DrawerLayout without overlapping the Toolbar ?

This works for me very well.. u need to have coordinator layout as parent layout and set layout behavior for ur drawer layout

First of all it's not recommended to do this because of Material Design Style Guide
So then, you should define android:minHeight="?attr/actionBarSize" in your toolbar Layout first. after that define android:layout_marginTop="?attr/actionBarSize" in your NavigationView layout. it's kind of a trick.

I think it is too late but you may want to know what was the problem or what you could do.Anyways.
