Why does my app show a black screen on launch?

you have heavy work in the main thread, it will happen to ANR (android not responding), you should check your work, and a black screen is your application theme

'Unfortunately, app has stopped' is shown twice on the device and 'Application terminated' in android studio with no error being shown

I am developing an app using Android Studio.
The problem is that app gets crashed twice within few minutes of running it and besides Application terminated. and normal logs no error is shown in the logcat.

I tried integrating crashlytics but even it doesn't show any error when the app crashes in this manner.
The question is how will I be able to fix the error if I don't even know what the error is?

I think the issue is related to your ad view.
In last line it is showing that ad is not visible.

Firebase (Android): Transaction.success(mutableData) causes app to crash

I'm trying to write a function to increment unread message count in a chatapp(android) using transaction in Firebase.
My database structure looks like:
The member list can in fact contain more than 2 users for a group chat which I intend to expand later.
Currently, messages can be added into the messageList but after adding to the messageList I want to increase the unreadCount for all other user except the sender as well. I realised that I need to make use of Transaction to make it atomic so this is my incrementUnreadCount code.

The following code works only when I send the second message. So the value of unreadCount is 1 less than what it is expected to be.
I read the doc and realised that for the null case it is supposed to be:
return Transaction.success(mutableData);
and not:
return Transaction.abort();
as abort() will make server abort the transaction instead of trying to make the transaction again.
I try to change the code above to use return ransaction.success(mutableData); but it causes the app to crash upon calling the function.
Did I miss something ?

In stead of iterate through each node in the Transaction thread, I use .addListenerForSingleValueEvent and iterate through each node. Then for the one that needs to be updated, I run the transaction code. This method works fine.

Getting Access Token but not allowed to sign in

So a buddy of mine is helping me test my app out. However, after he gets the allow or deny screen, it doesn't let him to actually sign into the app even though we are getting an access code. The following errors show up in the run dialog when I ran the app on his Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge:

I am not sure what any of this means. If I take the access token that is given I can use oAuth 2.0 playground and proceed like normal.

So the user was not connected to his preferred connection. His preferred connection was I/System.out: Connection Preference: wifi and he was connected to 4G. I added the following to check for it:

Parse with Facebook login - Possibly since APK v42 or Graph API v2.4

Note: I have since edited this question's summary as I believe the focus must shift from Android APIs to Facebook itself.
Ever since my devices updated to Facebook v42, or since Facebook updated it's Graph API to v2.4 (7th August), my app has failed to login. My Samsung S6 (API 22) failed initially, and 3 days later when my HTC (API 21) updated the Facebook app it too failed to login when it had been successful until then.
Initial Steps Taken:
I have attempted to remove the app from the test user's facebook permissions and re-add it - in this case, it asks to allow permissions then fails.
I have tested multiple test users and all fail.
I've disabled the pre-installed Facebook app - this allows for a webview to be the method of login, but it still fails. Taken from top answer at Facebook login fails on some devices.
UPDATE 1:
ParseException taken from comments: "User logged in as different Facebook user."
If I log in with my Facebook credentials, the app does not give an error. As I am not a registered test user, it should create a user in the Parse database and continue to the MainActivity. Instead, the LoginActivity remains and my data is not added to the database.
UPDATE 2:
My HTC running 5.0 just updated the Facebook app today and now the same error Toast is appearing ("Facebook login failed"). I disabled and uninstalled the app but the Toast still appears.
UPDATE 3:
I have updated the Parse SDK, and changed my dependencies to reflect the latest Facebook SDK (4.5.0). Same error still occurring.
UPDATE 4:
The app logs in successfully on any emulator that does not have a native Facebook app.

Each Android iteration comes with its own WebView implementation, for better or worse. 5.0+ Androids use the app-based implementation, which gets regular updates and so on, but also is different than the previous implementations.
Long story short, I believe this my be the problem. The WebView could be maintaining the session for your login or keeping the credentials in cookie storage for repeated use/confirmation. I can not offer a direct solution here as I am not that familiar with the new WebView's insides, but try force clearing the session and/or the cookie storage before each new login and see what happens.
