GoogleMap V2 in fragment stops working properly at fragment reload - android

I have a DrawerLayout with two fragments and one of them has a GoogleMap. At launch the map works as it should. But if i switch to the second fragment and the nswitch back to the first, or if an orientation change happens the map loses its "zoom to my location" button at the upper right corner of the map and it doesn't show my location with the blue dot and the accuracy radius. But I can still shows the map and I can zoom in and out with mu fingers. Am I doing something wrong in my code? How can I fix this?

Like usual I figured out the answer just right after I posted the question...
In the onDestroyView I added the mMap=null; line...So now the the setUpMapIfNeeded function will run again and instantiate the map again and will be good as new. Hope this helps someone

try{MainActivity.mapFragmentManager.beginTransaction().remove(MainActivity.mapFragmentManager.findFragmentById(R.id.location_map)).commit();

mMap = null;

ViewPager blocking DrawerLayout in Android

I'm new to android. My requirement is: I am having a home activity with a drawer layout (Navigation Drawer). I also have fragments with ViewPager.
My issues is, when I select other fragments, the slider works, but when I select the fragment with ViewPager(Fragment2 here in the code) the slider stops working.
My code is as below:
activity_home.xml

<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/frame_container"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" />
<!-- Listview to display slider menu -->
<ListView
android:id="#+id/list_slidermenu"
android:layout_width="240dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_gravity="start"
android:choiceMode="singleChoice"
android:divider="#color/list_divider"
android:dividerHeight="1dp"
android:listSelector="#drawable/list_selector"
android:background="#color/list_background"/>

How to integrate Google maps with slide menu in Android

I have completed the google maps and slide menu individually.
I can not combine both into one.
Because google maps extends FragmentActivity.
For slide menu i have to use Fragement.
I try to convert the FragmetActivity to Fragment.
But i come to know that that is not possible.
I can not get any example for google map with slide menu.
Any one can provide me a example or link for google map with slide menu.
Please help me resolve my problem.

The method getSupportFragmentManager() is undefined for the type Context

The error The method getSupportFragmentManager() is undefined for the type Context occur when i used getSupportFragmentManager() inside my oncreateview.
Different context type reference was used to overcome this error but none of these works:
e.g. globalContext = container.getContext(); globalContext = getActivity().getApplicationContext();
getSupportFragmentManager() can be set only in FragmentActivity. My question is if there is a way to reference getSupportFragmentManager().

1) Create the member variable:
private FragmentActivity context;
2) Override the onAttach method of your fragment:
#Override
public void onAttach(Activity activity) {
context = (FragmentActivity) activity;
super.onAttach(activity);
}
3) Get the support FragmentManager like this:
FragmentManager fm = context.getSupportFragmentManager();
In Kotlin
bottomSheetDialogFragment.show((context as FragmentActivity).supportFragmentManager,
bottomSheetDialogFragment.tag)
I am 100% sure that you are not importing the right package for the support Fragment class
make sure that your Fragment import in your HomeFragment look like this:
import android.support.v4.app.Fragment;
you can access Fragment manager in your getView method like below
((Activity)context).getFragmentManager().beginTransaction().replace(R.id.content_frame, fragment).commit();
where context is an activity ref passed in adapter class
like
public ActorAdapter(Context context, int resource, ArrayList<Actors> objects)
{
super(context, resource, objects);
this.context = context;
}
so fragment manager can be accessed for ex. FragmentManager fm = ((Activity)context).getFragmentManager();

savedInstanceState values is null always

Always I'm getting savedInstanceState values is null.
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
{
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
}
this activity is my launcher activity for my application. Please let me know how to fix this problem. If I'm getting NULL value means I cant implement for fragment for my application

Android Fragment Retting When Switching

My fragment reloads every time its re-selected. I need the fragment to just continue where it left off, as if the fragment just got minimized when it got de-selected. I'm using fragments for tabs in my web browser app.
Question:
How do I stop the fragment reloading every time it's re-selected.
Below is the MainActivity. Thank you.
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
private DrawerLayout mDrawerLayout;
private ListView mDrawerList;
private ActionBarDrawerToggle mDrawerToggle;
private CharSequence mDrawerTitle;
private CharSequence mTitle;
private String[] navMenuTitles;
private TypedArray navMenuIcons;
private ArrayList<NavDrawerItem> navDrawerItems;
private NavDrawerListAdapter adapter;
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
mTitle = mDrawerTitle = getTitle();
navMenuTitles = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.nav_drawer_items);
navMenuIcons = getResources()
.obtainTypedArray(R.array.nav_drawer_icons);
mDrawerLayout = (DrawerLayout) findViewById(R.id.drawer_layout);
mDrawerList = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.list_slidermenu);
navDrawerItems = new ArrayList<NavDrawerItem>();
navDrawerItems.add(new NavDrawerItem(navMenuTitles[0], navMenuIcons.getResourceId(0, -1)));
navDrawerItems.add(new NavDrawerItem(navMenuTitles[1], navMenuIcons.getResourceId(1, -1)));
navDrawerItems.add(new NavDrawerItem(navMenuTitles[2], navMenuIcons.getResourceId(2, -1)));
navDrawerItems.add(new NavDrawerItem(navMenuTitles[3], navMenuIcons.getResourceId(3, -1)));
navDrawerItems.add(new NavDrawerItem(navMenuTitles[4], navMenuIcons.getResourceId(4, -1)));
navDrawerItems.add(new NavDrawerItem(navMenuTitles[5], navMenuIcons.getResourceId(5, -1)));
navMenuIcons.recycle();
mDrawerList.setOnItemClickListener(new SlideMenuClickListener());

getActionBar().setTitle(mDrawerTitle);
invalidateOptionsMenu();
}
};
mDrawerLayout.setDrawerListener(mDrawerToggle);
if (savedInstanceState == null) {
displayView(0);
}
}
private class SlideMenuClickListener implements
ListView.OnItemClickListener {
#Override

You need to improve your TabListener.
This is why your tabs are loaded again after every switch:
.replace(R.id.frame_container, fragment).commit();
Best solution is here.
This is example of MyTabsListener.java class in one of my apps:
class MyTabsListener<T extends Fragment> implements ActionBar.TabListener {
private Fragment mFragment;
private final Activity mActivity;
private final String mTag;
private final Class<T> mClass;
EditText mEditText;
public MyTabsListener(Activity activity, String tag, Class<T> clz){
mActivity = activity;
mTag = tag;
mClass = clz;
}
#Override
public void onTabSelected(Tab tab, FragmentTransaction ft) {
// Check if the fragment is already initialized
if (mFragment == null) {
// If not, instantiate and add it to the activity
mFragment = Fragment.instantiate(mActivity, mClass.getName());
ft.add(android.R.id.content, mFragment, mTag);
} else {
// If it exists, simply attach it in order to show it
ft.show(mFragment);
}
}
#Override
public void onTabUnselected(Tab tab, FragmentTransaction ft) {
if (mFragment != null) {
// Detach the fragment, because another one is being attached
ft.hide(mFragment);
}
}
#Override
public void onTabReselected(Tab tab, FragmentTransaction ft) {
}
}
And in MainActivity.java:
-in your onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) you need to do at least this:
ActionBar actionbar = getSupportActionBar();
actionbar.setNavigationMode(ActionBar.NAVIGATION_MODE_TABS);
ActionBar.Tab Animals = actionbar.newTab().setText("Animals");
ActionBar.Tab Frag2Tab = actionbar.newTab().setText("Favorites");
ActionBar.Tab Frag3Tab = actionbar.newTab().setText("Settings");
Fragment Fragment1 = new Fragment1();
//new Fragment1() is name of the //class of your fragment and so on...
Fragment Fragment2 = new Fragment2();
Fragment Fragment3 = new Fragment3();
Animals.setTabListener(new MyTabsListener<Fragment1>(
this, "Animals", Fragment1.class));
Frag2Tab.setTabListener(new MyTabsListener<Fragment2>(
this, "Favorites", Fragment2.class));
Frag3Tab.setTabListener(new MyTabsListener<Fragment3>(
this, "Settings", Fragment3.class));
actionbar.addTab(Animals);
actionbar.addTab(Frag2Tab);
actionbar.addTab(Frag3Tab);
If you have any problems, just ask
