Is there a way I can disable close button of the android emulator or get a confirmation before closing.
After several runs I accidently closed the emulator.
Also it takes a lot of time to load the emulator again.
There is no built-in support anywhere for this. You have to search for 3rd-party solutions.
Here is one I found quickly.. http://lifehacker.com/5183947/noclose-disables-windows-close-button.
Go to the website, let it load, and then you have to search for NoClose. It is there, but it does not scroll automatically to the app to download.
You can also try to search for another similar solution.

Good morning, first of all sorry if this have been asked before, i've found no answer yet and i've been looking for it for a long time.
The problem: there's links to external websites in my app. This links always open inside my app. I want them to open like the following image, asking me what app i want to use to open the link:

Another problem is that i have some files i want to download from the app. They have the same problem. I would like the requested file to download automatically but it does nothing.
Wish you could help me, i am new in this and i'm a little (or too much) lost. Appreciate your help¡¡¡ Thanks
I'm pretty sure that you can do this with the InAppBrowser plugin: http://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/3.0.0/cordova_inappbrowser_inappbrowser.md.html#window.open
If you set the target=_system, it will "Opens in the system's web browser." I think if you have set a default web browser already on your device, it will probably use that web browser and not give you the prompt in your screen shot. I don't think there is a way to force the system to ask you which app to use, unless the user somehow clears that association/setting.
This is a weird bug I have come across where my activity or say application does not start. As soon as I touch icon of my app and I press lock button , then when i unlocked it I can not see my application opened and moreover it is not in the active application status also. As per the flow of application runs it should get opened behind or atleast can be seen in Active Application status?
Is there any way to resolve it.
Maybe you can trace your code from adb or find tools in android sdk tools folder finder the tool to get the logs
Is there any way to programmatically pause an Android app in Phonegap? I would like to mimic the behavior that occurs when you hit the HOME button. I've already had to overwrite the back button handler using this, and while in most cases I want it to do my action, when in a particular state the user would expect the app to minimize, and I want to replicate this behavior.
Keep in mind, on Android this is not the same as closing the app. That is quite easy to do with device.exitApp(); but I would like it to remember its state and keep running in the background. Especially if there's still an asynchronous job being done in the background.
Is there a feature in Phonegap to achieve this?
Possible duplicate of Manually pause an application in Android Phonegap, but I couldn't find some of the tools the OP mentioned there such as navigator, so I was nervious to totally edit and rewrite their post
The simple answer appears to be: no.
However, for anyone else that comes down this path, its not impossible. It's just that there isn't a feature of Phonegap to do it for you.
The Android equivalent of "sleeping an app" is actually just opening another intent. Specifically, opening the "Home" intent would sleep the running app and bring you back to the home screen. But as far as I can tell from asking around and scoping the docs, Phonegap doesn't have a direct way of opening intents.
What you (supposedly) can do is one of two things:
This plugin is supposed to be promising
Call the Java code that does it yourself using the means described here
Mind you, as of right now I've decided to not go any further with this, so I make no promises about either of those means, having not attempted them myself.
I invite anyone else who decides to pursue this further to update their experience here.
I've written an application for Android, but it doesn't close and it also starts automatically with the system. I don't know why, but it can't be closed, even through the Task Manager. So I would like to know why it doesn't close.
I'm sure you have read how Android apps aren't really supposed to close. That aside, I also needed my app to terminate when no longer visible. First I tried
System.exit();
That worked just fine but it isn't the proper way to do it, the best way is to call
finish();
I'm sorry if you had already tried/were aware of those solutions; it wasn't clear from your question.
I feel a little bit silly asking this, but I haven't been able to find any answers on my own. My Force Close dialog has a "Report" button. I think it's a great idea, and I wish everyone had it. At first, I thought it must be something I turned on without realizing it, but not only can't I find any setting that I might have touched, I also can't find any reference to this button existing on the Internet. I have a Droid, and I know 4 other people with Droids, and they say they don't have the option to report Force Closes. Am I special? Am I just missing something? The "report" button has been there for at least a few weeks now.
When I use the Report button, I get a screen with a "feedback" field and a checkbox for "Include system data". Below that , it says "Information from feedback reports will be shown to the developer of the application." Under that are Preview and Send buttons.
As a developer, I've never received one of these reports.
I'd try to send a report to myself, but it seemingly only shows the button for apps installed from the market, and I don't know of a way to crash my production app.
I suppose I could publish a simple crashing app just to try it out, but I thought I'd ask you folks first.

This is a new feature of Android :)
