android finish sometimes restarting app - android

I'm working on an app which allows user to choose a picture from gallery and then I start a activity to crop it.
I want to send the cropped image back to calling activity.
Both activities extend AppCompatActivity.
Calling activity:
#Override
public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) {
if (requestCode == SELECT_PICTURE) {
// start image crop activity
String dataString = data.getDataString();
Intent intent=new Intent(this, CropPhotoActivity.class);
intent.putExtra("SELECTED_PICTURE_FOR_CROP", dataString);
startActivityForResult(intent, CROP_PICTURE);
}
else if(requestCode == CROP_PICTURE) {
// get cropped bitmap
Bitmap bitmap = (Bitmap) data.getParcelableExtra("CROPPED_IMAGE");
profilePhoto.setImageBitmap(bitmap);
}
}
}
In the crop image activity, I have a button, which on click should return back to calling activity:
Button okButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.ok_button);
okButton.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View v) {
Intent returnIntent = new Intent();
returnIntent.putExtra("CROPPED_IMAGE", cropped_bitmap);
setResult(RESULT_OK, returnIntent);
finish(); // sometimes restarts app
}
});
Sometimes the bitmap gets returned correctly whereas sometimes it does not and the app gets restarted without error. Why is this happening? Does putExtra have anything to do with bitmap size or anything else?

You could try substituting
AppcompatActivity.this.finish()
(where AppcompatActivity is your class name)
for:
finish(); // sometimes restarts app
Or, create a method in the calling Activity:
public static void cropComplete(Activity activity)
{
activity.startActivity(activity, AnotherActivity.class);
activity.finish();
}

Theres's a limit for data length passed as extra in a intent. Try not passing the dataString value; instead you should save the image as a temporary file, pass the path in the intent and then load the image from your calling activity (or you can just save the dataString in a static helper class).
In the crop activity (saving bitmap code from Save bitmap to location):
// Save bitmap
String filename = "tempImage.png";
File sd = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory();
File dest = new File(sd, filename);
FileOutputStream out = null;
try {
out = new FileOutputStream(dest);
bmp.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.PNG, 100, out); // bmp is your Bitmap instance
// PNG is a lossless format, the compression factor (100) is ignored
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} finally {
try {
if (out != null)out.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
// Get image file path
String path = dest.getAbsolutePath();
// Set result with image path
Intent returnIntent = new Intent();
returnIntent.putExtra("CROPPED_IMAGE_PATH", path);
setResult(RESULT_OK, returnIntent);
finish();
In the caller activity:
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) {
if(requestCode == CROP_PICTURE) {
// Get image file path
String imagePath = data.getStringExtra("CROPPED_IMAGE_PATH");
// Load image
Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(imagePath);
}
}

startActivityForResults not working when the child activity calls another activity

I have 3 activities say A, B and C.
A calls B.
When B doesn't call C it returns to A. But when B calls C it doesn't return to A, the app stops.
Now the real problem is, from activity A I want to call an image picker and crop the image. That's Activity B which crops and calls C for picking image.
Activity A:
iv_profile_pic.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {//iv_profile_pic is an ImageView
#Override
public void onClick(View view) {
Intent i=new Intent(MainActivity.this,profile_pic_chooser.class);
i.setFlags(0);
MainActivity.this.startActivityForResult(i, 999);
Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(),"Reached",Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}
});
#Override
public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data)
{
if (requestCode == 999) {
Bitmap image=data.getParcelableExtra("picture");
iv_profile_pic.setImageBitmap(image);
}
}
Activity B:
It has 2 buttons. Load and Crop. Load when clicked calls ImageChooserIntent and chooses an image which is opened in B with guidlines to crop.
Crop when clicked should return back to A the cropped image.
If crop is called without calling load, it returns to A with null, of-course.
But if Load is clicked first and then Crop is called, the app simply stops.
public void onLoadImageClick(View view) {
startActivityForResult(getPickImageChooserIntent(), 200);
}
public void onCropImageClick(View view) {
Bitmap cropped = mCropImageView.getCroppedImage(500, 500);
if (cropped != null) {
mCropImageView.setImageBitmap(cropped);
iv.setImageBitmap(cropped);
Intent returnIntent = new Intent();
returnIntent.putExtra("picture", cropped);
setResult(Activity.RESULT_OK, returnIntent);
finish();
}
}
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
if (resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK) {
Uri imageUri = getPickImageResultUri(data);
// For API >= 23 we need to check specifically that we have permissions to read external storage,
// but we don't know if we need to for the URI so the simplest is to try open the stream and see if we get error.
boolean requirePermissions = false;
if (Build.VERSION.SDK_INT >= Build.VERSION_CODES.M &&
checkSelfPermission(Manifest.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) != PackageManager.PERMISSION_GRANTED &&
isUriRequiresPermissions(imageUri)) {
// request permissions and handle the result in onRequestPermissionsResult()
requirePermissions = true;
mCropImageUri = imageUri;
requestPermissions(new String[]{Manifest.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE}, 0);
}
if (!requirePermissions) {
mCropImageView.setImageUriAsync(imageUri);
}
}
}
I got a workaround. The most probable problem I was facing was:
I was using an external library for cropping the image. This library did 2 things.
First, selected an image using imageChooser intent.
Second, Cropped that image.
After the library cropped the image, it wasn't saving the cropped image in local/external storage. But I was trying to pass it back to parent directory.
There's the problem. The file doesn't exist and still I am trying to use it. The application terminates.
So my workaround was,
• Save the bitmap in storage
• Pass the Uri to parent
• Extract that Uri from child
• Make bitmap from that Uri
• Apply on the ImageView
So Activity B had:
public void onCropImageClick(View view) {
Bitmap cropped = mCropImageView.getCroppedImage(500, 500);
if (cropped != null) {
mCropImageView.setImageBitmap(cropped);
iv.setImageBitmap(cropped);
File externalStorageDirectory = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory();
externalStorageDirectory= new File(externalStorageDirectory , "FOLDERNAME");
if(!createDirIfNotExists(externalStorageDirectory)){
Toast.makeText(this,"Failed creating Directory!",Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}else{
File filename=new File(externalStorageDirectory, String.valueOf(Calendar.getInstance().getTimeInMillis())+".PNG");
FileOutputStream out = null;
try {
out = new FileOutputStream(filename);
cropped.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.PNG, 100, out); // cropped is your Bitmap instance
// PNG is a lossless format, the compression factor (100) is ignored
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} finally {
try {
if (out != null) {
out.close();
Intent returnIntent = new Intent();
returnIntent.putExtra("picture", Uri.fromFile(filename));
setResult(RESULT_OK, returnIntent);
finish();
}
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
}
//Toast.makeText(this,mCropImageUri.toString(),Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}
And Activity A had:
#Override
public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data)
{
if (requestCode == 999 && resultCode==RESULT_OK) {
Uri path=data.getParcelableExtra("picture");
Bitmap bitmap=null;
try {
bitmap= MediaStore.Images.Media.getBitmap(this.getContentResolver(), path);
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
Toast.makeText(this,path.toString(),Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
if (bitmap!=null){
iv_profile_pic.setImageBitmap(bitmap);
}
}
Maybe my problem statement is wrong, but workaround works. Any edits/suggestions
are 100% welcome. Just in-case someone like me gets stuck, this might help!

bitmap bad quality after set to imageview

I am creating a app that opens camera for user and after image captured it will be shows on ImageView! But the image in ImageView has very bad quality
here is the code:
public class Camera extends AppCompatActivity implements View.OnClickListener {
ImageView imgView;
Button camera, setBackground;
Intent i;
int cameraData = 0;
Bitmap bitmap;
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.camera);
initialize();
}
private void initialize() {
imgView = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.bPicture);
camera = (Button) findViewById(R.id.bOpenCamera);
setBackground = (Button) findViewById(R.id.bSetBackground);
camera.setOnClickListener(this);
setBackground.setOnClickListener(this);
}
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);
if(resultCode == RESULT_OK){
Bundle extras = data.getExtras();
bitmap = (Bitmap) extras.get("data");
Bitmap resizedBmp = Bitmap.createScaledBitmap(bitmap, imgView.getWidth(),imgView.getHeight(), false);
imgView.setImageBitmap(resizedBmp);
}
}
#Override
public void onClick(View v) {
switch(v.getId()){
case R.id.bOpenCamera:
i = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
startActivityForResult(i, cameraData);
break;
case R.id.bSetBackground:
try {
WallpaperManager wallmngr = WallpaperManager.getInstance(this);
wallmngr.setBitmap(bitmap);
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
break;
}
}
}
what should I do to increase image quality?
Use something other than the thumbnail. Quoting the documentation for ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE, with emphasis added:
The caller may pass an extra EXTRA_OUTPUT to control where this image will be written. If the EXTRA_OUTPUT is not present, then a small sized image is returned as a Bitmap object in the extra field. This is useful for applications that only need a small image. If the EXTRA_OUTPUT is present, then the full-sized image will be written to the Uri value of EXTRA_OUTPUT.
So, specify a Uri in EXTRA_OUTPUT where a full camera image should be written to. Then, use an image-loading library, like Picasso, to load the photo into your ImageView.
Here is a sample app that demonstrates using EXTRA_OUTPUT.
This is how I made it work for me! Assuming you are capturing an image, and would like to show the captured image in a new Activity, you can follow this way:
First on the click of button you can:
public void cameraFuture(View view) // <-- onClick() method of Camera Button
{
Intent intent= new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
File file = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(),
"MyPhoto.jpg");
outPutfileUri = Uri.fromFile(file);
intent.putExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, outPutfileUri);
startActivityForResult(intent, TAKE_PIC);
}
Then on the onActivityResult() method, you can do this way:
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);
if (requestCode == TAKE_PIC && resultCode==RESULT_OK){
Toast.makeText(this, outPutfileUri.toString(),Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
Intent bitIntent = new Intent(this, CameraTake.class);
bitIntent.putExtra("imageUri", outPutfileUri);
startActivity(bitIntent);
finish();
}
}
And in the next Activity, you can receive the file this way:
Intent receiveIntent = getIntent();
uri = receiveIntent.getParcelableExtra("imageUri");
if (savedInstanceState == null) {
Bundle extras = getIntent().getExtras();
if(extras == null) {
receiveImg= null;
} else {
receiveImg= extras.getString("PASSER");
}
} else {
receiveImg= (String) savedInstanceState.getSerializable("PASSER");
}
File imgFile = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(),"MyPhoto.jpg");
if(imgFile.exists()){
Bitmap myBitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(imgFile.getAbsolutePath());
ImageView myImage = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.camOut);
myImage.setImageBitmap(myBitmap);
}

Refreshing EditText Fields on click of Camera button

I have two text fields and a button to capture image,on click of camera button it will capture image but entered text in text fields will be refreshed,
i have a method which will clear text and images(from the SD card).I have called this method in onCreate method.I dont want to clear those text fields upto capturing image,how to handle this?
Here is my code to capture image:
btnCapture.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View v) {
try {
Intent captureIntent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
captureIntent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP);
startActivityForResult(captureIntent, CAMERA_CAPTURE);
} catch (ActivityNotFoundException anfe) {
String errorMessage = "Device doesn't support capturing images!";
}
}
});
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) {
// user is returning from capturing an image using the camera
if (requestCode == CAMERA_CAPTURE) {
Bundle extras = data.getExtras();
Bitmap thePic = extras.getParcelable("data");
DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("HH-mm-ss");
Date date = new Date();
String imgcurTime = dateFormat.format(date);
File imageDirectory = new File(ImagePath);
if (!imageDirectory.exists()) {
imageDirectory.mkdirs();
}
String _path = ImagePath + imgcurTime + ".jpg";
try {
FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(_path);
thePic.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.JPEG, 100, out);
out.close();
out.flush();
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.getMessage();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
}
In low memory situations the android will kill the background activities. In your situation when camera activity started the background activity which starting the camera is may be destroying. And when you came back from camera it is recreated. So persist your edit text data same them in onSavedInstance() method and reassign them in the onRetoreInstance() method.
I hope this may works.

How can I get the path to the picture from a Camera Intent

I just want to take a Foto with my cam -(that functions)
To use it further i need the path were the intent has saved the picture.
But I don't want to tell the Intent where it should put the File.
(Because now it just creates the file automatically.
Heres the function that starts the camera
public void doCam() {
Intent i = new Intent("android.media.action.IMAGE_CAPTURE");
// startActivityForResult(intent,0);
try {
startActivityForResult(i, TAKEPICTURE_ACTIVITY);
} catch (ActivityNotFoundException e) {
Toast.makeText(this, "Application not available",
Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}
// Log.e(TAG, "Error in taking picture");
}
and heres the getting of the results and I want in the string address the path with the name of the picture
I found different solutions already but the all involved choosing the filename before taking the picture -> so the app decided how the picutre will be named.
public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent intent) {
if (requestCode == TAKEPICTURE_ACTIVITY) {
// super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, intent);
if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) {
Bundle extras = intent.getExtras();
Bitmap bitmap = (Bitmap) extras.get("data");
//doesn't work
String address= (String) extras.get("EXTRA_OUTPUT");
The path should be found in intent.getData() try it.. If you don't have it there then you should consider forcing the camera to save the video in a custom location..
This is how you can get the path of the recently captured image:
try{
Intent cameraIntent = new Intent(android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
startActivityForResult(cameraIntent, CAMERA_PIC_REQUEST);
} catch(Exception e){
e.printStackTrace();
}
And in the onActivityResult() method:
String path=null;
try{
Bitmap thumbnail = (Bitmap) data.getExtras().get("data");
path=getLastImagePath();
} catch(Exception e){
}

Android crashing after camera Intent

I have an app published and one of the fundamental features is to allow the user to take a picture, and then save that photo in a specific folder on their External Storage.
Everything seems to be working fine, but I've gotten two reports now that claim that after taking a photo, and clicking "Done" to exit the camera (and return back to the Activity), the app is Forced Closed, bringing the user back to the home screen.
This happens on a Samsung Nexus S and the Galaxy Tab. Below I've posted my code to show I set up my intent and how I handle saving and displaying the photo in onActivityResult(). Any guidance on what might be causing it to crash after they click "Done" to exit the camera app, would be greatly appreciated!
Again, this seems to be working fine on most devices but I was wondering if their is a more efficient, universal approach I should be taking. Thank you
How I'm firing the Camera Intent
case ACTION_BAR_CAMERA:
// numbered image name
fileName = "image_" + String.valueOf(numImages) + ".jpg";
output = new File(direct + File.separator + fileName); // create
// output
while (output.exists()) { // while the file exists
numImages++; // increment number of images
fileName = "image_" + String.valueOf(numImages) + ".jpg";
output = new File(outputFolder, fileName);
}
camera = new Intent(android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
uriSavedImage = Uri.fromFile(output); // get Uri of the output
camera.putExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, uriSavedImage); //pass in Uri to camera intent
startActivityForResult(camera, 1);
break;
default:
return super.onHandleActionBarItemClick(item, position);
}
return true;
}
How I'm setting up onActivityResult()
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);
if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) { // If data was passed successfully
Bundle extras = data.getExtras();
//Bundle extras = data.getBundleExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT);
/*ad = new AlertDialog.Builder(this).create();
ad.setIcon(android.R.drawable.ic_menu_camera);
ad.setTitle("Save Image");
ad.setMessage("Save This Image To Album?");
ad.setButton("Ok", this);
ad.show();*/
bmp = (Bitmap) extras.get("data"); // Set the bitmap to the bundle
// of data that was just
// received
image.setImageBitmap(bmp); // Set imageview to image that was
// captured
image.setScaleType(ScaleType.FIT_XY);
}
}
First lets make it clear - we have two options to take image data in onActivityResult from Camera:
1. Start Camera by passing the exact location Uri of image where you want to save.
2. Just Start Camera don't pass any Loaction Uri.
1 . IN FIRST CASE :
Start Camera by passing image Uri where you want to save:
String imageFilePath = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() + "/picture.jpg";
File imageFile = new File(imageFilePath);
Uri imageFileUri = Uri.fromFile(imageFile); // convert path to Uri
Intent it = new Intent(android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
it.putExtra(android.provider.MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, imageFileUri);
startActivityForResult(it, CAMERA_RESULT);
In onActivityResult receive the image as:
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);
if (RESULT_OK == resultCode) {
iv = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.ReturnedImageView);
// Decode it for real
BitmapFactory.Options bmpFactoryOptions = new BitmapFactory.Options();
bmpFactoryOptions.inJustDecodeBounds = false;
//imageFilePath image path which you pass with intent
Bitmap bmp = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(imageFilePath, bmpFactoryOptions);
// Display it
iv.setImageBitmap(bmp);
}
}
2 . IN SECOND CASE:
Start Camera without passing image Uri, if you want to receive image in Intent(data) :
Intent it = new Intent(android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
startActivityForResult(it, CAMERA_RESULT);
In onActivityResult recive image as:
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);
if (RESULT_OK == resultCode) {
// Get Extra from the intent
Bundle extras = data.getExtras();
// Get the returned image from extra
Bitmap bmp = (Bitmap) extras.get("data");
iv = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.ReturnedImageView);
iv.setImageBitmap(bmp);
}
}
*****Happy Coding!!!!*****
On the camera button click event you can try this:
final Intent intent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
intent.putExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT,
Uri.fromFile(getTempFile(this)));
startActivityForResult(intent, TAKE_PHOTO_CODE);
declare TAKE_PHOTO_CODE globally as:
private static final int TAKE_PHOTO_CODE = 1;
Add getTempFile Function in the code which will help to save the image named myImage.png you clicked in the sdcard under the folder named as your app's package name.
private File getTempFile(Context context) {
final File path = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(),
context.getPackageName());
if (!path.exists()) {
path.mkdir();
}
return new File(path, "myImage.png");
}
Now on OnActivityResult function add this:
if (requestCode == TAKE_PHOTO_CODE) {
final File file = getTempFile(this);
try {
Uri uri = Uri.fromFile(file);
Bitmap captureBmp = Media.getBitmap(getContentResolver(),
uri);
image.setImageBitmap(captureBmp);
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
in case you get Memory issues than add below code:
#Override
protected void onPause() {
image.setImageURI(null);
super.onPause();
}
I hope this will help you
I suspect 3 posible problems may have created your issue:
Some devices return null when you call extras.get("data"); in onActivityResult method so your problem may be a NullPointerException. To solve this, you need to pass the exact URI location to tell the camera app where you want it to store and use it in onActivityResult to retrieve the image as a Bitmap.
Some other devices return a full size Bitmap when extras.get("data"); in onActivityResult. If the bitmap is too large that can result in an OutOfMemmoryError, so maybe you need to decode your image in a smaller size to not take so much memmory heap. This two links can help you in this situation:
http://developer.android.com/training/displaying-bitmaps/load-bitmap.html
BitmapFactory OOM driving me nuts
Maybe your activity is destroyed by the GC so you have to use onSavedInstanceState and onRestoreInstanceState to save your Activity's data. See the answer of this previous post for more information.
I don't know if you already have dealt with these issues.
Hope that helps:)
First, make sure to check request code, you might be catching someone else's result there. Second, don't use the intent's data Bitmap - if anything, it's small, but since you provide the path to store captured image, it shouldn't even be there (see here). So, store the url you provided as output file path and read Bitmap from there when you've received RESULT_OK for your request:
...
// save your file uri, not necessarily static
mUriSavedImage = Uri.fromFile(output);
startActivityForResult(camera, MY_REQUEST_CODE);
/* Make a String like "com.myname.MY_REQUEST_CODE" and hash it into int to give it
a bit of uniqueness */
}
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
if (requestCode == MY_REQUEST_CODE) {
if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) {
Bitmap bmp = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(mUriSavedImage);
if (bmp != null) {
image.setImageBitmap(bmp); // Set imageview to image that was
// captured
image.setScaleType(ScaleType.FIT_XY);
} else {
Toast.makeText(this, "Something went wrong", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}
}
} else {
super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);
}
}
For Samsung devices add below one line in your AndroidManifest.xml File
android:configChanges="orientation|screenSize"
i hope this will work for you
I faced the same issue. Apparently the fix is to make the uriSavedImage as static. Not sure if this is the best way. But this works for me.
Follow the steps given on this link. Hope this is useful for you.

Hello all i know answer has been given but as this is also one of the easiest solution solution i have ever found
Here is an example, which is itself bothering about the device!
AndroidCameraUtils - Download the project and from library project by including it below is the code snippet you can use !
private void setupCameraIntentHelper() {
mCameraIntentHelper = new CameraIntentHelper(this, new CameraIntentHelperCallback() {
#Override
public void onPhotoUriFound(Date dateCameraIntentStarted, Uri photoUri, int rotateXDegrees) {
messageView.setText(getString(R.string.activity_camera_intent_photo_uri_found) + photoUri.toString());
Bitmap photo = BitmapHelper.readBitmap(CameraIntentActivity.this, photoUri);
if (photo != null) {
photo = BitmapHelper.shrinkBitmap(photo, 300, rotateXDegrees);
ImageView imageView = (ImageView) findViewById(de.ecotastic.android.camerautil.sample.R.id.activity_camera_intent_image_view);
imageView.setImageBitmap(photo);
}
}
#Override
public void deletePhotoWithUri(Uri photoUri) {
BitmapHelper.deleteImageWithUriIfExists(photoUri, CameraIntentActivity.this);
}
#Override
public void onSdCardNotMounted() {
Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), getString(R.string.error_sd_card_not_mounted), Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
#Override
public void onCanceled() {
Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), getString(R.string.warning_camera_intent_canceled), Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
#Override
public void onCouldNotTakePhoto() {
Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), getString(R.string.error_could_not_take_photo), Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
#Override
public void onPhotoUriNotFound() {
messageView.setText(getString(R.string.activity_camera_intent_photo_uri_not_found));
}
#Override
public void logException(Exception e) {
Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), getString(R.string.error_sth_went_wrong), Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
Log.d(getClass().getName(), e.getMessage());
}
});
}
#Override
protected void onSaveInstanceState(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onSaveInstanceState(savedInstanceState);
mCameraIntentHelper.onSaveInstanceState(savedInstanceState);
}
#Override
protected void onRestoreInstanceState(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onRestoreInstanceState(savedInstanceState);
mCameraIntentHelper.onRestoreInstanceState(savedInstanceState);
}
#Override
protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent intent) {
super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, intent);
mCameraIntentHelper.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, intent);
}
}
NOTE:- I tried many examples for camera utils and ofcourse there are another ways to handle it but for beginners and person who are not too much familier with the core concepts would be more comfort with this project. THanks!
