set as image as header CollapsingToolbarLayout on Collapse - android

I want to stick image as background of CollapsingToolbarLayout when collapsed. I am able to show image in expanded form on CollapsingToolbarLayout but when the collapsed image disappears, I want the effect of the following GIF image:
My structure is as follows:
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="192dp"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="#color/colorGreen"
app:expandedTitleMarginBottom="32dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="48dp"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/prof_img_picBackground"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#mipmap/ic_launcher"
ndroid:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"/>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/anim_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v4.widget.NestedScrollView
android:id="#+id/scroll"
style="#style/overscroll_remove"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:clipToPadding="false"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"/>
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

First create your them with this link, Transparent toolbar and set it as theme of your activity
xml code is as follows,
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/app_bar_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="48dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/image"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"/>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
and in activity,
getSupportActionBar().setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(true);
collapsingToolbarLayout = (CollapsingToolbarLayout) findViewById(R.id.collapsing_toolbar);
collapsingToolbarLayout.setTitle(itemTitle);

Try removing the contentScrim attribute from CollapsingToolbarLayout.

You can also just simply set contentScrim to a transparent color.
E.g.
<com.google.android.material.appbar.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsingToolbarLayout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:contentScrim="#color/ap_transparent" <-- this line
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed|snap">

How to use collapsing toolbar for vertical views

In my activity,I have a toolbar and the view should be displayed below toolbar (Like Linearlayout) and listview as follows,
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
tools:context="com.example.xyz.abc.MainPage">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.AppBarOverlay"
android:id="#+id/view">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<RelativeLayout
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content">
<FrameLayout
android:background="#android:color/transparent"
android:id="#+id/header_content"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
/>
<TextView
android:layout_below="#+id/header_content"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:id="#+id/progress"
/>
</RelativeLayout>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:popupTheme="#style/AppTheme.PopupOverlay" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<FrameLayout
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
android:id="#+id/body_content"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"/>
</RelativeLayout>
I want to use hide the view below toolbar (Relative layout) when the listview is scrolled like this. But It is not working for my case . I tried every solution in this post . Even changing CoordinatorLayout to RelativeLayout doesn't work.
In my xml, the framelayouts will be replaced at runtime.
Guide me, Thanks in advance
You have to use scrollview or nested scrollview with collapsing toolbar.
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar_"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="192dp"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginBottom="32dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="48dp"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/header"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="192dp"
android:background="#color/colorPrimary"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
android:src="#drawable/bg2"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"/>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
Use Scrollview here
Now you can continue with your framelayout or watevr you want to use

Parallax TabLayout with collapsing Toolbar and imageview

I'm trying to get 3 tabs to appear at the bottom of my ImageView, and ideally overlapping it so that when you scroll down the ViewPager you can still see the tabs.
The problem I'm having is the tabs are above the ImageView and get pushed off screen so you can't see them when you scroll downwards.
Here is my XML layout:

android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#android:color/white"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context="com.example.aine.cardview.MainActivityTabbed">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"

I'm not too familiar with how TabLayouts work so I'm not too sure how to fix this.
EDIT: Here is a screenshot of what it looks like initially:
And here is what it looks like when you scroll down:
Try this:
Put you Tablayout out of CollapsingToolbarLayout
Add app:layout_collapseMode="pin" to the toolbar
Add android:fitsSystemWindows="true" for the appbarlayout
use this layout:
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/main_content"

Menu options not showing on Collapsing Toolbar

I am trying to implement a Collapsing Toolbar Layout with menu options but whenever I set the image view source in the below code, the image covers the menu and the back button. The options are there as I can click on them, they are just hidden by the image. Does anyone know how to fix this?
XML Layout
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout android:id="#+id/app_bar"

good luck !
From own experience this tells me this you probably have forgotten to add the following lines to the activity:
Toolbar toolbar = (Toolbar) findViewById(R.id.toolbar);
setSupportActionBar(toolbar);
Try adding collapseMode attributes to the Toolbar...like this. It pins the toolbar.
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
app:layout_collapseMode="pin" />

How stop my collapsing toolbar when there is nothing more to show?

I'm building a collapsable toolbar and works well, but not how to make it stop when no more data to display. Always collapses in any case. For example: if there is no data to show in the recycler, the collapse of the toolbar should stop and prevent further collapsing
This is my code:
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout

android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="48dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp">

android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"/>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="#+id/recycler"

</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
Its a known bug. Update your Support libraries to 22..2.1:
com.android.support:design:22.2.1
Else you can also do it programmatically :
try this
