tvData.setText(buffer.toString());
}
}
}
current Output :
{"movies" :[{ "movie" : "Avenger","year" : 2012}]}
Expected output :
Avenger
2012
Change your onPostExecute method as below.
#Override
protected void onPostExecute(String s) {
super.onPostExecute(s);
tvData.setText(s);
}
Here s will be return statement of doInBackground. "movieName + "-" + year;"
You are getting {"movies" :[{ "movie" : "Avenger","year" : 2012}]} in the TextView because you are setting the buffer's output to the TextView. Change your onPostExecute like this:
#Override
protected void onPostExecute(String s) {
super.onPostExecute(s);
if(s != null){
tvData.setText(s);
}else{
//// Some error occurred
tvData.setText(buffer.toString());
}
}

Description Resource Path Location Type
The method execute(HttpGet, ResponseHandler) is undefined for the type Object Social_media.java /TabsWithSwipeGesture/src/info/androidhive/tabsswipe line 62 Java Problem
Object has no execute() method. You are supposed to use a HttpClient instance. Further I wonder what you want with pageHtml (and the loop there) as the html page will be availabel in `handleResponse'. Further the title of your post is strange as there is no WebView involved here.

AsyncTask unfortunately stops on second execution

I'm trying to get strings from my Arduino with my Android phone, everything goes well except for when I press my updatebutton the second time, it unfortunately stops.
I can't seem to track the problem and I ran out of options so I'm asking for help to you guys now.

and if there's a better way of getting strings from arduino please help out.
You probably need to close dtSocket at the end of doInBackground(). Otherwise you will try to create a socket on a bound port when you execute it the second time.
