I want to develop an android app to control Samsung smart TV (H6400). Can some one please guide me with selecting the tools and techniques for this. I just only want to control volume up/down and channel up/down features.
I found it after digging around hours.

I am developing a Screen Mirroring app for Android in Kotlin.
I want to deploy one feature having a button which when clicked, the sound should be
heard from the phone while video mirroring on tv. And when tapping the button again the
sound should be heard from the tv along with the video mirroring.
Is there a way to deploy this functionality?
If yes please help.
Thanks
I have an app which I have built for Samsung Gear VR with Samsung s6 device. I would like to show the view of the running app in the headset to the audience in the presentation.
Buy a google chromecast and try streaming to a TV or a projector. Note hovever that this may affect the framerate.
I looked into this yesterday and found one of the simplest ways of doing it was to install the Mobizen app on the 'phone and then log into the Mobizen site.
This mirrors the display and allows full screen.
As mentioned in the other answer, it also slowed the framerate and reduced the time before the 'phone needed a break to cool down.
I want to develop an app on android that uses screen mirroring with Samsung TV. I'm looking to use my android app screen as a remote(say a game controller) & TV screen to run the actual game. My initial approach was learning google cast but it needs a chromecast dongle which I don't want to use for this project. I want to use Samsung Smart TV's Screen Mirroring feature to do so. After some googling, I figured out that samsung uses Allshare Framework API for screen mirroring/cast but I'm not completely sure on this. I'm currently struggling to find a proper documentation for screen mirroring. If someone can point to the correct documentation link then that'd be awesome. Also, please correct me if I'm wrong with the assumption that this can be achieved using Allshare API only.
It seems Samsung have came out with this new SDK - Samsung Multiscreen SDK( or maybe I've found it now :)). This link should cover most of the questions I've asked above. Also, if you are Unity user, Samsung has their own version of Unity which comes intalled with Samsung Multiscreen Game SDK. But you need to send a partnership request to samsung in order to use this version of Unity. Apart from these two, you can also use Connect SDK which is independent of any technology, i.e. it covers almost every other technology used for Cast. For exmple, if you have a Samsung Smart TV at your home & a Roku connection. With Samsung SDK you can only discover Smart TV but not Roku stick. Whereas, with Connect SDK you can discover Samsung Tv as well as Roku & any other Cast device which is available in your network.
I'm planning to create myself a proof of concept Android Wear application, but I'm not planning to buy myself an Android smartwatch yet. I will buy it if I get positive reactions from my target audience once I show some of them the proof of concept app from my personal smartphone (Android Kitkat).
is it possible to run/debug an Android Wear application on my smartphone? Suggestions for third party software is welcome as well.
For a demo/proof of concept I'd say yes it's possible, in certain conditions/restrictions:
It should be a standalone/fullscreen app (it will be hard to emulate the notifications/cards behaviour)
Define a 320x320px layout for your content (or 280x280, and eventually add a round mask it you need a round watch)
Code like it's Android!
Note that behind the scene communication between the phone and the app will be different when you do it on a real Wear, but for a demo your audience will not see the difference.
You can check this app in which I use a similar layout for the watch, the handheld app and the widgets.
I like this concept as shown in the YouTube link
But not sure how it is possible for real application. Is it possible to implement as shown in the YouTube. SamSung has GalaxyBeam, but the projector is at the top of the phone. I like to use the flash light as a projector. Is it possible to develop or silly idea?
Thanks
Cute concept...
In the video, how the screen is beaming on the wall is by using airplay. If you purchase a projector with airplay feature, you can do the same.
Using the built in led of the iphone as a projector (like seen in the video) is just a concept and currently not possible. They also used airplay for filming this concept.
I don't think that such a feature will even be in iPhone6 and I'm sure it will create battery issues...
There are some 3rd party options. You may check one of them
