I´m looking for some useful API or libraries for handwriting recognition in Android. I want to integrate it in my app but I don´t find anything. I saw in other post that it´s possible using Tesseract(but this work better for OCR image text recognition).
Also I found this API https://dev.myscript.com/ , but it doesn't work fine. Anyone of the demos that they provide work correctly in the phone. It crash when I write a lot or just tab the screen. I tried to follow their tutorials to integrate it in a single app with a single Widget and it doesn't work.
Someone knows some way to integrate handwriting recognition? It´s just for a simple view where I want to write something in the screen throught Handwriting and put the text in a EditText.
there are quite a few options out there.
The following Stack post answers your question.

I'm a UX designer, who is trying to make a note-taking app that can make voice notes, text notes and just notes in general. My only challenge with the no-code platforms is finding a component and not knowing what the 'action' is called to 'create a new something' Like create a new card with text. Create new voice notes etc.
If there are free Api's for this that would be great.
Alternatively, a youtube tutorial would be good, please and thank you.
With less expenditure there are plenty of coded apps on github. But if you want to learn how to code a simply note app, I suggest to watch this video for creating a "Note-App" and also this video for making a "Memo-App". After that you can implement function like voice messages, but start simple with Strings.

I must implement an applcation that draws a heart on a person seen via an Android device camera(augmented reality stuff).
So, I must detect the shape/contour of the upper part of human body(head, neck, shoulders) in order to know where the heart must be situated. This stuff must be made in real time.
I've searched about this stuff but I haven't find something useful. Does anybody know some tutorials or examples of something related to this? Thanks.
I would recommend using OpenCV if the memory isn't a problem ( your app would be like 50 MB). There are plenty of tutorials to learn how to use OpenCV. Try Cascade Classifier
In case of face detection, as far as i know, android has a library for this. Camera.Face

Could anyone suggest me a good QR code reader to embed this in my app.
I'm searching a library which let me embed the scanner directly in my activity.
And with a good tutorial which explain me how to use it.
Zxing is great, but it's hard to embed into your app - it's developers focused more on making usage of their own app from Play Store easier.
There are some other libraries, which wrap Zxing around. I used this one in my recent project. It's really easy to use. Probably you can find all what you need in readme.

Are there any ready-made mobile HTML5/CSS3 templates available on the net (for webapps). I don't want to have a native look nor want a native look with webapps. But I want kewl eye-catching designs with a lot of colors. As I'm a developer I'm a super noob at designing. Let me know if you guys use any resources.
P.S.To be specific I needed it for holding two countdowns (placeholders) & 2 images.
I usually look at DeviantArt for UI ideas,
http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&q=iphone+app+template
From there you could find one you like and code it.
Also look at this link for a backbone template,
http://html5boilerplate.com/mobile
A simple google search would have led you here...

I know there have been questions here before about keyboard dev, but none of their answers seemed to help me. I'm new to android, but I am an experienced programmer. I'm looking for something that will show me, preferably from scratch, how to write an android keyboard. I want to write something that looks nothing like a standard keyboard (think 8pen). I've looked at Creating an Input Method and the SoftKeyboard source. The problem with the former is that there's not enough detail - it tells me what the different classes do, but not how to edit them to get what I want. The latter is great for changing what happens when the standard keyboard is used, but it doesn't really have any information about changing the layout.
tl;dr I want to make a keyboard that is essentially just 8 gigantic buttons. Where can I go to learn how to do this?
Here is a good sample that will get you started: http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/SoftKeyboard/index.html
From there, everything else is stock Android development. In-depth documentation can be found here: http://developer.android.com/index.html
There are some examples for the soft keyboard in the sdk/samples/version. That is googles own modifiable code. Other than that you can make several keyboard skins using the listed examples or smartkey.
