Displaying Banner Ad in bottom of RecyclerView? - android

I want to display a simple banner ad in RecyclerView which loads a list of images. just a simple bottom banner ad.
This is my RecyclerViewXML
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:id="#+id/list"
android:name="com.example.fragmentactivity"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#FAC873"
app:layoutManager="StaggeredGridLayoutManager"
tools:context="com.example.fragmentactivity"
tools:listitem="#layout/fragment_image" />
if I try to put to the recyclerView inside RelativeLayout or any other so i could include banner in the bottom, but then it wont display any images.
How can I display banner in that view?
I tried almost all the available solution to dynamically add the banner but nothing worked

You should add the banner to the bottom and in the front of the RecyclerView. For do that this will help you:
Usage: Replace the RelativeLayout for your AdMobView
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/list"
android:name="com.example.fragmentactivity"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#FAC873"
app:layoutManager="StaggeredGridLayoutManager"
tools:context="com.example.fragmentactivity" />
<RelativeLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="52dp"
android:background="#fff"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" />
</RelativeLayout>
Explanation: . The RelativeLayout is bellow RecyclerView and it is android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" overlaying the RecyclerView.

I have it working perfectly well by first adding the adview at the bottom and then adding the recycler view above it (leaving a margin at the bottom for the adview that was placed earlier and then filling the parent with the recycler view). My layout is as follows:
Note: In my case it is MoPubView Replace it with your Adview from Admob.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto" android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" android:paddingLeft="#dimen/activity_horizontal_margin"
android:paddingRight="#dimen/activity_horizontal_margin"
android:paddingTop="5dp"
android:paddingBottom="5dp"
android:background="#color/color_green"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
tools:showIn="#layout/app_bar_category_list"
tools:context=".CategoryListActivity">
<!-- I'm using Mopub, replace the MoPubView with AdView in your case -->
<com.mopub.mobileads.MoPubView
android:id="#+id/adview"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="50dp"
android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" />
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/my_recycler_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:scrollbars="vertical"
android:layout_marginBottom="60dp" />
</RelativeLayout>

How do i show Banner Adview bottom of screen with SwipeRefreshLayout?

To summarize my problem:
I have a RecylerView that I use inside SwiperRefreshLayout.
Except for these two, I want to add a banner adview to the bottom of the screen.
When I add the tag com.google.android.gms.ads.AdView above SwipeRefreshLayout it looks like this:
but when I add the adview's tag below SwipeRefreshLayout it disappears. Only Recylerview appears on the screen.
There isn't adview:
How can I pin the ad to the bottom of the screen?
my codes are like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="#drawable/blur"
android:orientation="vertical"
tools:context=".MainActivity">
<androidx.swiperefreshlayout.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout
android:id="#+id/swipeRefreshLayout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_above="#+id/adView"
android:layout_height="wrap_content">
<androidx.recyclerview.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/recycleView"
android:layout_above="#+id/adView"
android:layout_margin="2dp"
android:scrollbars="vertical"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"/>
</androidx.swiperefreshlayout.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout>
<com.google.android.gms.ads.AdView
xmlns:ads="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/adView"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
ads:adSize="BANNER"

android:layout_above="#+id/swipeRefreshLayout" />
</LinearLayout>

Blank space when using ScrollView Activity in combination with adjustPan

My Linear Layout was taking too much space. So I decided to put it inside a ScrollView.
The layout has an EditText at the bottom for user input. To make the layout resize itself in AndroidManifest.xml for the Activity I put:
android:windowSoftInputMode="adjustPan"
It was OK for when I just had a Linear Layout, but now in combination with Scroll View I get a blank space, I think Android is trying to make space for the keyboard.
Layout.xml:
<ScrollView android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
<androidx.appcompat.widget.LinearLayoutCompat
android:isScrollContainer="false"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:orientation="vertical"
tools:context=".MainActivity"
android:background="#color/colorPrimary">
...
</androidx.appcompat.widget.LinearLayoutCompat>
</ScrollView>
Before clicking keyboard
After clicking keyboard
Replace with following code
<ScrollView android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fillViewport="true"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
<androidx.appcompat.widget.LinearLayoutCompat
android:isScrollContainer="false"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:orientation="vertical"
tools:context=".MainActivity"
android:background="#color/colorPrimary">
...
</androidx.appcompat.widget.LinearLayoutCompat>
</ScrollView>

How to Set a Button at a fixed position even when respective Activity has ScrollView

Is there a way to use some non scrollable view when the activity has ScrollView component?
I want that my button behaves similar to the button in the question below, I want it fixed on the bottom of the UI too:
how to set a button at a fixed location on the bottom of UI?
Here's my layout code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<ScrollView
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent ">
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/map_frameview"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="200dp">
</FrameLayout>
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:paddingTop="20dp">
</LinearLayout>
</LinearLayout>
</ScrollView>
Thanks in advance!
The link you have attached in your question shows how you can do it. You can use RelativeLayout for this. The idea is, you need to tell a button to stay on bottom of the screen & tell the scrollview to stay above the Button along with it's scrollable content like:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<Button
android:id="#+id/btnMy"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"/>
<ScrollView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_above="#+id/btnMy">
<LinearLayout
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_above="#id/btnMy"
android:orientation="vertical">
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/map_frameview"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="200dp">
</FrameLayout>
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:paddingTop="20dp">
</LinearLayout>
</LinearLayout>
</ScrollView>
</RelativeLayout>

Hiding View in Fragment on Scroll of Other View

I am using Navigation drawer activity in content_main there is one linear layout which will be inflate with fragment.
content_main.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:id="#+id/content_home"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
tools:context="net.techdesire.khabargujarat.HomeActivity"
tools:showIn="#layout/app_bar_home">
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:id="#+id/fragment_container"/>
</RelativeLayout>
fragment_home.xml
<android.support.percent.PercentRelativeLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context="fragment.HomeFragment">
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/viewpager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
app:layout_heightPercent="40%"/>
<RelativeLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:padding="5dp"
app:layout_heightPercent="60%"
android:layout_below="#+id/viewpager">
<TextView
android:id="#+id/about"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_marginBottom="5dp"
android:text="#string/about_khijadiya"
android:textAppearance="#style/TextAppearance.AppCompat.Large"/>
<TextView
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_below="#+id/about"
android:text="#string/dummy"
android:textAppearance="#style/TextAppearance.AppCompat.Medium"/>
</RelativeLayout>
</android.support.percent.PercentRelativeLayout>
I have large content in textview named about. I want to make it scrollable,like in image.First scroll relativelayout to full screen and if content of about is still overflow then make only about textview scrollable. When scroll reach to top and if user swipe down from there then re-display viewpager.
I think, your requirement is collapsing the view while scrolling.
So you can use
"android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout".
It is implemented in material design.

RecyclerView can't scroll up when embed under RelativeView and SwipeToRefresh

I have the below layout.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="#+id/my_swipe_container"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/my_recycler_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" />
</android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout>
It's basically having a recyclerView embedded in a SwipeToRefresh. This works well where I could scroll my recyclerView up and down. When reaching the top, and I pull down, the Refresh Happens.
Given I need to add an empty View dynamically, I have wrap the Empty View and RecyclerView under the RelativeLayout. This is as below.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="#+id/my_swipe_container"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<RelativeLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/my_recycler_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" />
<include
android:id="#+id/my_empty_view"
layout="#layout/fragment_empty_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:visibility="gone" />
</RelativeLayout>
</android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout>
By adding this RelativeLayout between the RecyclerView and SwipeToRefreshLayout, the RecyclerView can only scroll down. It can not scroll up anymore, as whenever I try to scroll up, the SwipeToRefresh take place instead.
Why is this a problem? Is there any way to solve the problem while retaining my layout?
Thanks!
A scrollable view must be embedded in a SwipeRefreshLayout immediately.So you can let the RelativeLayout be embedded in a ScrollView and the ScrollView is embedded in the SwipeRefreshLayout.
Like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="#+id/my_swipe_container"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<ScrollView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
>
<RelativeLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/my_recycler_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" />
<include
android:id="#+id/my_empty_view"
layout="#layout/fragment_empty_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:visibility="gone" />
</RelativeLayout>
</ScrollView>
</android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout>
