I know it's not a vital problem, but it occupies my mind. As you can see in the image, Android Studio shows a nice preview of some images in the editor's sidebar.
There are 3 PNG images with the same format and same dimensions. But Android Studio only shows the preview for just two of them.
I'm using Android Studio 2.0 Beta 2 .
Does anyone knows the reason behind or is there any special property for the images to be able to be previewed by Android Studio?
I'll appreciate any answer.

I have a Figma Design and I want to convert it to Kotlin Jetpack Design in the android Studio.
However, I am having an issue when export an illustration from Figma as image and add it Android Studio as drawable. When I fire up the emulator, all the image colors becomes black.
Please see the image below for the view from Figma and Android Studio.
Image from Figma and Image observed in Android Studio
Could you please help me to solve this issue?
P.S.
Thanks.
I have tried png and jpeg formats but both of them shows same issue.
I copied the image as Png in Figma and past it to Paint, then saved it to use it in Android Emulator but the same issue happened.
I am using the visual editor in Android Studio. In there, the text is really big, like how I want it to be. But when I build it on a physical device it is default size.
Thanks in advance!
simply create many layout that support pixels make all your layout handle your show way
read this to understand the idea
https://developer.android.com/training/multiscreen/screensizes
and do this in your code then check the devices

there's also something else you may have not noticed yet
in android studio Preview Layout you can choose your the preview device as your actual device or same as it.
this way the preview design will be same as your device. but for other devices you should have above answers in mind.
I've seen some Layout Editors in Android Studio with a ruler on top and on the side for the Preview window and I'm trying to figure it out how to enable, any ideas? I'm using Android Studio 3.0.1 and I can't see them.
Seems like the ruler has been removed from the Preview tab of the Layout Inspector since Android Studio 3.0. It's 2020 now and Android Studio 4.0 has a new Layout Validation tool to preview the layout on different devices and display configurations. Not really the same but at least the Layout Inspector seems much more reliable than those days.

The Guidelines are the rulers. You move them around to get the measurements you need. Expressed in percentages or units.
I am learning how to use android studio, and I'm enjoying it so far. However, I'm a little bit OCD, and the breakpoint column in my version of Android Studio is really wide and it's kind of annoying me. I can't figure out how to resize it! I first provided a screenshot of the instructor's Android Studio, followed by mine:

Thanks!
As far as I know, there is no direct way to change the size of the gutter.
From what I am able to see in the tiny portion of the screenshots, the difference between your gutter, and the instructor's, might be due to original screen resolution or Android Studio's version.
That said, there is one very simple way to indirectly change the size of the gutter by disabling the icons shown on it.
On Android Studio go to Preferences > Editor > General > Gutter Icons, and uncheck Show gutter icons. It will reduce the gutter size to something similar to what can be seen in the instructor's screenshot (although, he does have gutter icons).
I am trying new Intellij Idea 12 for Android development.
I've sucessfully imported all my eclipse projects but I still can't figure out how to zoom out the designer view?
I have troubles with XHDPI layouts on my laptop resolution.
I couldn't configure that too, but I could find a better solution, at least for me:
There is a Preview tab on the right side of the IDE, when you are in XML text mode.
After clicking you can watch your layout changing dynamically as soon as you make edits, and also you can zoom in/out from there.
Hopefully, they will fix this in upcoming updates.
This article helped me.
Android UI Designer in IntelliJ IDEA doesn't have any zoom options, it always displays in 1:1 scale for the chosen device resolution. Zoom feature is available only for the Preview (when you are editing layout XML code manually and Preview is displayed in a tool window).
I didn't find this feature requested, so you are welcome to submit a new ticket.
